CHAPTER SIX

Third-Person POV:

The employees working in the kitchen in the foster restaurant were assembled at one place due to the orders of their head chef.

“Why do you think the head chef assembled us at one place?” asked one employee to another.

 “I don't know it must be related to yesterday's issue” answered another employee.

 “Kiara, do you have any idea why we are here?” asked Emily who is working with Kiara as a chef.

 “No, ” replied Kiara.

All were gossiping about the possible reason for their head chef's order.

In the meanwhile, Mr. Williams entered the room.

“You all are assembled here because I have something to announce and also a new guest to introduce. He will stay with us for a week or two,” announced Peter.

“Who is it, chef?” asked one of the employees.

“He is a new writer who wants to write a novel with the main leads as a chef. He wants to observe a chef's daily life to give his first novel a realistic look. He will be with us for only two weeks observing our life and the relation between us.

He is my neighbor and requested me to give him permission and I talked with the CEO. He doesn't have any problem with him. So he will be here with us and observe our work, and he may ask questions, but he assured that he will not get involved in our work” said Peter.

“Where is he, chef?” asked an employee.

“There he is,” said Peter indicating the man who stood at the threshold.

A man dressed in jeans paired with a black t-shirt and jacket walked into the room.

“His name is Ashton” introduced Peter.

“Thank you for accepting my request Mr. Williams and I will try to not cause trouble to you all,” said Ashton gazing at the employee.

He glanced at Kiara who stood there with a surprised and shocked look.

Kiara kept gazing at him with numerous questions in her brain.

“Did you write any novel till now?” asked an employee to Ashton.

“No, It is my first novel. That's why I requested Mr. Williams for this experience” replied Ashton.

“Ok, Now all get back to your work,” said Peter.

“But, What about yesterday's incident?” asked an employee.

“Our CEO is personally looking into this issue. So it will get solved soon until then be attentive to your work” replied Peter.

All the employees left their work except Kiara who is still gazing at Ashton with a confused expression.

Ashton smiled seeing her confused expression.

“Kiara I said to leave for your work,” said peter.

“Sorry, chef” saying she left gazing at Ashton making him smile.

 “Why are you smiling Mr. Foster?” asked a confused Peter.

“Mr. Williams doesn't address me as Foster and You did your job perfectly and now I will start mine, I am sure he is one of the employees, ” said Ashton while remembering their decisions over this plan yesterday.

Yesterday:

“I have a plan to find the culprit” Ashton announced, making the three surprised.

“What is it?” asked all the people at the same time.

Ashton smiled at them and explained his plan to them.

“I will enter into the restaurant and will keep an eye on every employee closely,” said Ashton.

“But, Mr. Foster, anyone can recognize you,” asked Peter.

“I never visited the restaurant before so employees can't recognize me and I will change my attire” replied Ashton.

“Is it going to work?” asked jade.

“Obviously it will work and don't worry about it anymore. I will hand over this case to my PI team. They are best at solving these types of cases,” said Ashton, trying to assure his brother.

“Ok, if you say so and I will make arrangements to execute your plan,” said jade.

“Not you jade. Mr. Williams is the one who has to take care of me and my plan” said Ashton while explaining his plan to them.

“What do you mean?” asked jade.

“If I enter the restaurant through you then the culprit may get alert. So I want Mr. Williams to handle it. You have to introduce me as your neighbor who wants to know about the chef's lifestyle for his novel and introduce me as a new writer and two weeks are enough for me to catch the culprit” replied Ashton.

“Ok, I will handle everything” assured Mr. Williams.

“Thank you, Mr. Williams, and take care of me,” Said Ashton with a smile.

“It's my pleasure, Mr. Foster,” smiled Mr. Williams.

Present:

What is he doing here and Is he really a writer, but he doesn't look like one to me.....thought Kiara.

“Are you cursing me again?” asked Ashton standing behind her.

“Ah, Why do you always startle me coming out of nowhere?” asked Kiara, turning towards him.

“I want to take a look at the kitchen but I don't know where it is?

By the way, what are you doing here?” asked Ashton.

Kiara was standing in the hallway which headed towards the kitchen.

“Are you sure you're a writer?” asked Kiara, ignoring his question.

“Yes, What made you think that I am not one?” asked Ashton.

“Yesterday you were dressed in a business suit. So, I thought you're a businessman and today you're wearing casuals, and I am finding it suspicious ” replied Kiara while raising her eyebrow.

“Yesterday I had a reason to wear a suit and today I have another reason to wear casuals. I will explain the reasons later but first, can you guide me till the kitchen?” asked Ashton.

“Ah! And also we are friends now if you remember our yesterday's conversation” added Ashton.

“That means you know before that we are going to meet today.

That's why you were confident about us meeting again?” asked Kiara as soon as she realized.

“At least can you give me directions to the kitchen?” asked Ashton, ignoring her question.

“First, answer me. You know right” commanded Kiara while crossing her arms.

Wow, she is looking beautiful with crossed arms and an angry face and eyes which are ready to spit fire....thought Ashton.

“Yes, and now we are friends because of it, ” Ashton replied.

“Wow, really who said I am your friend. You tricked me” said Kiara.

“What are doing here Kiara?

Leaving your work” they heard Peter's voice.

“I was on my way chef,” said Kiara.

“Mr. Williams I was asking her the way to the kitchen as I don't know the way,” said Ashton.

“Yes, you're unfamiliar with this place.

Then Kiara will guide you to the kitchen and also show him the complete restaurant” said Peter.

“Chef, now?” asked Kiara.

“Yes, and Ashton she will give you a tour of the complete restaurant” announced Peter, and he walked away.

” So, Miss. Kiara Harris I mean my new friend let's start our tour. Where should we head first?” asked Ashton.

“I am thankful to you yesterday but I don't know why I am angry at you today,” said Kiara glaring at him.

“I think it is because you don't want to meet me. So sad of me” said Ashton while making a fake sad face.

“Really, it didn't suit you well,” said Kiara while walking forward.

Ashton followed her.

“This is the kitchen,” she said walking into the kitchen.

Ashton kept observing every employee and their activities.

“Let's go, I will show you the locker room and the other floors,” said Kiara while walking out of the kitchen.

“How long have you been working here?” asked Ashton.

“From the past six months and which genre novel are you writing?” asked Kiara.

“Which novel?” said Ashton while observing the surroundings and unknowing he created a suspicious situation.

“What do you mean by which novel you are here to know about the chef's life for your novel. right?” asked Kiara.

“Yes, I am and I will decide the genre in future” answered Ashton realizing his mistake.

Kiara nodded in response.

“This is a locker room, and we eat our lunch here only,” said Kiara.

Ashton nodded.

Kiara showed him the entire restaurant and Ashton kept observing every place and every person in detail because it was his first time visiting the restaurant and also he was trying to find any suspicious behavior of the staff.

“It is lunchtime for my shift. I will get going” said Kiara.

“What do you mean by shift?” asked a confused Ashton.

“We staff are allowed for lunch in shifts. So that there won't be any problem to attend customers” replied Kiara.

 “You almost saw the restaurant. So it won't be a problem to roam around but still, if you face any problem you can call me but not when I am working” said Kiara and walked away without waiting for his reply.

What did she mean to not call when she is working? She would be working all the time she is in the restaurant.

Wow, she just said not to call her in a very polite way.

She must have been very shocked seeing me here.......thought Ashton.

“Who was the man before with whom you roamed around the restaurant?” asked Jessie.

Kiara and Jessie sat to have their lunch.

“Ah!! He was the head chef neighbour and he came here for some experience or whatever and the head chef ordered me to show him around. That's why I was roaming with him” replied Kiara.

“And, you were observing without working?” asked Kiara while raising her eyebrows.

“I have to watch when my best friend walks around with a man and I have to keep an eye if that man is handsome and that man is really handsome,” Jessie replied.

“What do you mean?” asked Kiara, been confused.

“It means a girl can easily fall for a handsome guy. So as a friend I should know if that guy is good or not” said Jessie with a smile observing the change of Kiara's expressions.

“I am not going to fall for anyone and that includes him. So don't raise your hopes and please find a boyfriend for yourself. You keep on saying the things which don't make any sense” said Kiara.

“I don't want to get a boyfriend now. I want to enjoy my single life for some more days” said Jessie.

“Wow, you want to be single but keep on saying weird things to me,” said Kiara.

“Don't get angry I want to be single for just some time but you want it to be a lifetime. That's why I am worried about you” explained Jessie.

Kiara keeps silent and continues eating.

Jeesie decided to change the topic knowing her behavior.

“What happened last night. I forget to ask you?

Did he return your ID?” asked Jessie.

Suddenly, Kiara remembered Jessie's words from yesterday.

“Yesterday you said I will meet that man again. Why did you say that?” asked Kiara.

“Because I thought he likes you,” said Jessie.

“What!! How can you say that?” asked a shocked Kiara.

“Because no man in his proper sense will decide to help you. That's why I thought he might have some feelings for you” replied Jessie.

a kept staring at her but Jessie was busy eating her food.

“Or maybe he just wanted to help you. It may be either this or that way and why are asking about it now?” asked Jessie.

It has to be the second way. He just wanted to help and how can a person like someone on the first meeting?

Yes, you are over thinking Kiara that's it......explained Kiara to herself.

“Where are you lost, Kiara?” asked Jessie, finding her lost.

“Nothing and the man whom you saw with earlier is the one who helped me yesterday,” said Kiara.

 “Really!!” asked a shocked Jessie.

“Yes, what is there to get surprised?” asked Kiara.

“Nothing but Stella must be feeling jealous of you” replied Jessie.

“Why?” asked Kiara.

“Because that man is more handsome than her boyfriend” replied Jessie.

Kiara nodded in response.

“You heard any news about the person behind yesterday's incident?” asked Jessie.

“No, and how will I know about it?” questioned Kiara.

“Many people are gossiping that the culprit is one of us and also he or she must have been appointed by the rivals of this restaurant” answered Jessie.

“Oh we will come to about it when the culprit will get caught,” said Kiara.

Jessie nodded in response.
