Chapter 4While they rested for moment for Tony to regain his strength before the final teleportation to the castle, he asked Pilore to alert Cerdic that they were on their way back. He would have done it himself, but as a shifter he couldn’t communicate telepathically with elves, any more than they could mindspeak to shifters.
When they arrived in the Great Hall, Cerdic was waiting, along with Seneschal Randel and Leofric. After shedding their cloaks and weapons, and Tony receiving a heartfelt hug and a murmured, “You return unscathed, for once,” from his husband, they settled in the high-backed chairs at the king’s table.
