Chapter 2

Next day Ana had to go monster hunting, the alert had sounded early and she regretted the night before as she stumbled out of bed.  As a result of her hung over state she had ended up with a nasty knock to the head, but she came out of the fight with a gash to her head, a bruised cheek and a split lip. The fight had been with a particularly nasty monster that had a long spiny tail, it was with that she had been swept by, knocking her against the wall of a building and falling to the ground, banging her head. Entering her room she peeled off her blood soaked t-shirt and looked closely at the bruise on her face in the dressing mirror, stepping up to within an inch of it and inspecting the wound. “Who did that to you?” A voice whispered, sounding angry and upset. She turned around looking round her room, then looked back at the mirror. “What the hell?” She looked at the old blackened frame and ran her fingers down the ornately carved metal work. It suddenly glowed with an intense bluish white light and like a film being pulled back the mirror seemed to clear revealing the form of a man sitting in a cream leather armchair facing the mirror. He is sitting casually, one leg crossed over the other, elbows on the arms, his head resting on the knuckles of one hand. He had a very amused expression on his gorgeous face.  It is masculine and sculptured but smooth and pretty all at the same time, which seemed to confuse the senses into a speechless gasp of pleasure at the sight of him. His intense amber eyes seem to bore into your very soul and were extremely expressive, the colour of the amber undulating from a light golden to a deep blood orange depending on his mood, which right now was somewhere in the middle. His hair is an incredible silver blond and long, coming round his face in layers and cascading down his back to just below his shoulder blades. Everything about him is immaculate, he wears a very expensive looking three piece suit of a slate grey with a crisp white shirt, black shoes and belt and a blue tie that actually matches Ana’s eyes perfectly. The jacket is removed, tossed over the back of the chair. “Well, it’s about time you touched the mirror, my dear.” “What the hell!” Ana reeled back in shock, more at the sight of him than the fact that he was in her mirror, that hadn’t even sunk in yet. “Who are you?” “My name is Adrian and it is an absolute pleasure to finally meet you.” “Is this seriously happening right now?” It had just sunk in, there was a gorgeous man in her mirror, talking to her. “Indeed it is.” He smirked and c****d his head at her. “I thought you were supposed to be blond.” “What? How do you know that?” “So you are blond?” “Naturally…yes.” Ana touched her hair self-consciously. “You dye your hair black and blue?” He asked looking a bit surprised. “Yes.” Ana answered blandly, wondering what his point was. “Ah…I see…interesting…no wonder they couldn’t find you.” “Who?” Ana’s eyes went wide. “No one of importance, my dear. Not now that I have found you.” “You were looking for me?” Ana said confused, trying not to look him in the eye, she couldn’t concentrate when she looked at him. “Yes…it has been a very long search.” “So this mirror…” “It wasn’t coincidence you picked this mirror…I have been placing this mirror in every city in the Americas for the past five years waiting for you to feel its call and come to it, once I found out about your existence.” She backed up and sat on the end of the bed staring at the man stunned. Her mouth was dry and she felt strange and tingly every time she looked into his eyes. He stood up and walked up to the mirror. She watched in fascination, the fluid movements, the long strides, the way his suit was tailored to his physique perfectly. He was tall, lean and powerful. His mere presence standing exuded confidence and authority. She couldn’t help but feel heat deep in her core, she pressed her thighs together as she tried to moisten her dry mouth. He grinned a very wicked smile at her as he stopped directly in front of the mirror, leaning his weight slightly on one leg as his hands went into the pockets of his pants, this only accentuated his hips more. Ana tried to tear her eyes away. “You like what you see?” He asked smugly as he posed for her. She stared at him with wide fascinated eyes. “What the hell?” She breathed confused, as her forehead furrowed. “Me…you do like what you see, don’t you?” His eyes pierced into her and his grin widened. “Well…yeah…of course…I mean…shit…” She was flustered and couldn’t speak properly. “…you’re gorgeous, I’ve never…never seen anyone as attractive as that…ever…except maybe in magazines.” She had always been a person with no filter and spoke her mind, no matter how bad or embarrassing it was for her, or the other person. He laughed a throaty husky laugh that made her shiver and gave her goose bumps. “What are you?” She asked, rubbing unconsciously at her arms. “Can’t you guess?” He said very seductively as his eyes darkened to a blood orange. “I could…but I would hate to get it wrong and possibly insult you, you seem like someone not to insult.” She said getting some composure back. He chuckled which caused another shiver down her spine, his voice was pure s*x and seemed to caress her skin. “I am an Elite pureblood vampire.” He said and c****d his head at her again. “Did you guess right?” She licked her lips still trying to moisten her dry mouth, she nodded. “You can’t come through this thing, can you?” She asked suddenly frightened. He straightened up suddenly, his eyes flicking to a light amber. “I’m not here to hurt you.” “That doesn’t answer my question.” Her eyes coming up wide and fearful. He grinned. “You’re a clever one aren’t you…I can see it behind those gorgeous baby blues.” She blinked at the compliment then narrowed her eyes again. “Okay I’m guessing no you can’t…since you haven’t” “A fair assumption to make I suppose.” He took a hand out of his pocket and picked at his perfect nails as he said it. “But you’re not going to confirm or deny it?” She said slightly annoyed. “What do you want?” “Only to get to know you better…I’ve been searching for you for the longest time now.” “Why?” He hesitated and seemed, in his eyes, to go distant for a moment. “Time to go, my dear…don’t be a stranger…” The mirror suddenly changed back to her looking at her own reflection just as someone knocked on her bedroom door. She couldn’t help but have the feeling he was still there, watching. She suddenly remembered the night before when she stripped in front of the mirror. She felt her cheeks go bright red and realised she was actually just in a bra now. She suddenly stood up and ran to her wardrobe, yelling to the person at the door to wait a second. She grabbed a t-shirt and pulled it on as she walked over to the door. As she past the mirror she could have sworn she heard chuckling laughter. She glanced at it. “Pervert!” As if to confirm it the laughter got louder then faded away as she opened the door. “Oh, it’s you…come in.” “Hey, doing okay?” Matt asked as he stepped into the room. “Yeah, I suppose so…” Except that there is a vampire in my mirror. “I just came in to see how your injuries are…Sam told me you got clocked a good one…” Matt stepped close to her and lifted her chin with one hand as he brushed her hair back from the left side of her face with the other, so he could see her bruise. He was too close, Ana held her breath. He trailed his fingers down the line of her cheekbone where the bruise was quite prominent. Ana thought she heard a growl from the mirror, she went to turn her head but Matt held her strongly as he ran his finger down over her chin and as he placed his finger just under her bottom lip he pulled on the skin causing her lip to pout out. He grinned at her as her eyes widened at the sensual touch. s**t, s**t, s**t! What the hell was this? “I’m going to kill him.” The growling threat came from the mirror. ...
