After dinner with her family, Isabella returned to her dorm. Her face was full of smiles as she thought about the next four years. While making friends wasn’t something that she was interested in, the thought of being away from bullies made her choice to go to school in a different city more worthwhile.
When she walked toward the elevator, another student was walking in her direction with a plate full of food. The food started to fall, but just as it was about to land on Isabella, she felt a hand pull her away and the next thing she knew, she was in someone’s arms. From how the person was built and how big their hands were, she assumed it was a man. Her thoughts were deemed correct when he asked, “Are you OK,” in a deep, alluring voice that made the hair on the back of her neck stand up and her heart race.
She slowly nodded, and then suddenly she heard a voice in her head say. MATE. As if it were screaming at her. She shook her head and then chanced a look at the guy who was still holding her. He was tall and muscular with a chiseled jawline, a crew cut, and beautiful hazel eyes that made it almost impossible to look away.
“Thank you, you can let go now,” Isabella said softly as the young man slowly released her. A move that to her surprise seemed hard for him to do.
“I am so sorry,” the student who almost spilled their food on Isabella said.
“It’s OK,” Isabella said.
“Next time, watch where you’re going,” the guy who saved Isabella said, in an almost territorial tone that both scared her and aroused her.
The student he was talking to was so scared that he started to bow and say, “Yes sir. I’m sorry sir,” he then quickly grabbed his food and ran away.
“Idiot.” The guy who saved her said about the student who ran away. “Are you sure you’re OK?” He asked her.
“I’m fine. Thank you again,” she said, then started to walk away.
“I’m Tyler, by the way. Tyler Abbott and are you?” He asked, not ready to end their conversation.
She took another quick glance at him before lowering her face and saying, “Isabella Hart,”
“Nice to meet you, Isabella. Can I call you Issy or do you prefer Bella?” He asked.
“Either is fine. Everyone calls me Issy, so,” she said.
“Bella it is,” he said, with a sheepish grin.
“Ok. I need to get to my room. It was nice meeting you Tyler,” Isabella said as she pushed past Tyler and to the elevator. He followed behind her, eyes glued to the back of her head.
“Where are you from?” He asked.
“Half Moon Bay. It's in…” she started to say.
“California, I know. Is that where your pack is?” He asked, in a whisper, as the elevator doors opened. She looked at him with a baffled look on his face.
“My what?” She asked.
He looked at her then c****d his head, “You don’t have one?” He asked as he followed her onto the elevator. She quickly pressed the third floor and he smiled brightly.
“No. I’m not a wolf. People usually have families,” she said with a nervous laugh.
He looked at her again as if to study her, and realized that she had no idea what she was. He then let out a low laugh and shook his head.
“What?” She asked innocently.
“Nothing, it’s just the first time I’ve met someone like you,” he said.
“Is that a good thing or a bad thing?” She asked hesitantly.
“Both,” he said, just as the elevator door opened.
“Good to know, well this is my floor. It was nice meeting you again, and thank you so much for your help. She said. She then got off the elevator and walked straight to her room. Tyler followed from a distance, watching as she practically ran away from him, and he couldn’t decide if he was amused or angry that the woman his wolf had declared as his mate, was trying to run away from him. One thing was for sure, he was looking forward to the upcoming semester.
When Isabella stopped at the door next to Tyler’s, at first he was confused, but when he saw her unlock the door and go inside, a huge smile spread across his face. Not only had his mate finally shown up, but she was living next door to him and sooner or later she would be sharing his bed.
As he strolled towards his door, he again bumped into Rebecca, who had just returned from taking a shower. Her hair was still wet, and the towel was tightly wrapped around her. He was tempted, but after finding his mate, he couldn’t help but want her. In fact, it took everything in his power not to go into her room and f**k her brains out, but then he remembered she knew nothing, and he didn’t want to spring it on her at the risk of scaring her away after just finding her.
“Tyler, did you give any thought to what we talked about earlier?” Rebecca asked as she playfully twirled one of her curls.
Tyler gave her another once over. The girl was very beautiful and if he were to compare her to any other girl on campus, she would be in the top ten. She had rose lips, a shape, and his heart that he didn’t realize he still had, wasn’t in it. So he sighed and then said, “I’m not really in the mood. Another time,” he then started to walk past her and toward his room. However, instead of taking the hint, she followed him.
“Come on, I promise it will be worth it,” she said as she licked her lips seductively. His eyes drifted from Rebecca to Isabella’s closed door. Rebecca, catching the direction his eyes traveled, balled up her fist in order to fight back the urge to kick Isabella’s door down and beat the hell out of her.
“Look, there is one thing that I don’t like and that’s a needy b***h and right now, you are acting just like one,” he said, then pulled out his key to unlock his door.
“I’m sorry, it’s just hard to forget about you after that night,” she said.
He smiled cockily at her, then said, “You’re not the first woman to say that, and you won’t be the last,” With that, he opened his door and walked into his room. He started to shut the door, but then thought about it and pulled her inside, closing the door behind them.
The moment the door closed, he ripped the towel off her and pushed her up against the wall. She moaned in pleasure as his fingers roamed freely down her body. “Are you sure you want this?” He asked. He then pulled out a condom and ripped it open.
“Yeah,” she whined, helplessly throwing her body back towards him. He shook his head, and pulled down his pants, allowing his c**k to roam free. To his surprise, it wasn’t hard and no matter how long he looked at the girl in front of him, he couldn’t get it up. “What’s wrong?” she asked, sensing his change in character.
He moved away from her and she turned around. “I’m feeling it,” he said. He then reached for his pants and started pulling them up, but she stopped him.
“Wait. What do you mean you’re not feeling it? I can help,” she said.
“No, you can’t. Just get the f**k out, I don’t have time,” he said, throwing her robe at her.
“Get out, but?” She said, holding her towel to her chest, and suddenly feeling ashamed and angry.
“Get out,” he said with so much base in his voice, that it sounded like a roar.
Rebecca quickly wrapped the towel around her, and then ran out of the room. She looked back at Tyler’s door, longingly, before allowing her eyes to drift to Isabella’s. Suddenly she was filled with so much animosity towards Isabella that she stormed back to her room and slammed the door behind her, determined to teach the girl a lesson.
