I awoke confused. I couldn't remember where I was. It took me a moment for my eyes to focus. Once they did, I saw Carrie and Gabriel standing over me.
"Are you okay?" Carrie asked. Clearly concerned. I looked around and realized I was at their house, on the couch.
"What happened?" I asked. I had a bit of a headache. The lamp in the living room seemed glaringly bright and I squinted as I tried to avoid looking at it.
"You… you don't remember?" Carrie asked. I shook my head and then groaned as the movement made my head throb even more.
