Courtney
I had spoken to Simone about what Tucker had confronted me about she reckoned Ace wouldn't be so stupid and cruel. I was so angry I didn't know who to believe so I had it out with Ace and the look on his face confirmed my worst fears he'd let me win but what I didn't understand was why the look upon Simone’s face said how sorry she was and couldn't believe Ace would do such a thing she was as angry as me and I asked for a rematch and if be cheated again I would never play snooker with him ever again he agreed and said he'd let his friends know.
Ace
I can't believe she found out I let her win. I'll kill Lawrence. He was the only one that knew about it and was pissed about it.
I called around letting them know that we had a rematch with Simone and her friends this Saturday.
So here we were Saturday morning. It was going to be another long ass weekend.
Simone had let all her friends know and by the looks in their faces they didn't look so pleased to be there or the fact that I had let Courtney win.
We all chose who we was up against and played until late. They were playing better than before, maybe they'd gotten some practice in. We all said our goodbyes for the night.
Simone looked at me. "You best not mess this game up for Courtney. If she's going to win, let her do it off her own back and not with you letting her."
"I will "
"Night Ace."
"Night sis."
I headed to my room and Simone headed to hers tomorrow is going to be another long ass day.
Sunday came around way too soon and everyone was gathered in the basement for another eight hours of the snooker rematch.
Surprisingly it was all down to me and Courtney again. "May the best person win."
She smiled and we shook hands before we flipped a coin to see who this went first. Of course Courtney called heads and heads it was. She took the break potting the red. I smiled. It was a rare sight to see one of us pot off a break so I was impressed.
We continued until the black Courtney was up by three points. If potted the black she would win.
She pulled her cue back before tapping the white ball with it. It spun down the table hitting all three sides before the black snapping it into the corner pocket. I could hear everyone take a breath in watching the ball hit all three corners and breathing out as it went in.
They all screamed running up to her. I rolled my eyes as they all jumped on her.
"Well congratulations Courtney. Nice shot."
All of her friends mined away while I held my hand out. She smiled, taking it in hers, shaking it. "Good game."
"Best game I've played so far. We should play again?"
"Maybe."
I smiled. Soon I hope.
Simone caughrd and I realised I still had her hand. "Sorry I."
"It's fine. "
I let go of her hand. "Let's grab some drinks and some food. I'm sure you're all hungry I sure am."
They all laughed nodding in agreement before we slm headed out of the basement for food and drinks.
Lawrence
Ace gave me a death stare once everyone wasn't looking and I knew then I was in s**t. I was so worked up that night with him letting Courtney win instead of playing fair and square I had began to blurt it out in front of Asher and Courtney’s brother. I think they'd put two and two together without me hardly saying anything.
Everyone was glad that Courtney had won fair and square this time. I hoped she had. I didn't want another rematch because of Ace's foolishness.
Everyone was telling jokes and laughing. I excused myself to go to the bathroom. When I came out Ace looked at me with a sour yet angry face. "Why did you tell her I let her win?"
"I didn't."
"So how come she knew?"
"Maybe cause her bro was at our house when I went home after the hand you rigged. I was pissed . Ash wound me up and I let it slip not all of it but enough for him and her brother to put two and two together."
"You know how embarrassing it was to tell her that you let her win, and in front of her friend, my sister? I'll tell you shall I? They looked disappointed and disgusted."
"I just hope you learn your lesson." I looked at Ace. "You did, didn't you? She won fair and square?"
"Of course she did what you take me for Lawrence? I'm not that stupid to do it twice, they'd bust my balls."
I laughed. I'm sure they would.
We went back and joined the others until it was time to say our goodbyes and go home. We had college and school tomorrow. Thank god the game didn't go on until late it was already starting to get dark and Simone’s friends parents were beginning to pick them all up.
