I woke up late on a Saturday morning and I wasn't expecting someone to knock on the door today. I wasn't expecting anyone. None of my friends were free today until later tonight when we were all meeting up to go to a party later tonight I groaned, slipping sleepily out of my bed, the knock came louder this time.

"Rud get the door bro. I'm not expecting anyone."

"Me neither." I groaned.

I sloshed put if my room in my boxers they'd sure get a good show or a heart attack. I sniggered. Like I gave a f**k. I made my way slowly and surely out of my room the knocking grew louder and more persistent as I took the stairs one at a time tired as f**k. "Gee I'm coming no need to get you undies in a knot."

I got to the front door and opened it expecting to see the postman. He was the most impatient prick I've ever come across. The d**k knows mom works shifts right now; she's in the early morning shift. "What the hell…" I began a fist I didn't notice coming hit my face fast and hard. What that f***?

"What the hell man?" I looked at the i***t that had punched me knowing it wasn't the postman. Whose boy toy had I pissed off this time? Don't blame me if you can't keep your girl happy. I looked into his cold eyes when the f**k was he doing here?

"Jossiah man. What the hell are you doing here? And more importantly what was with the right hook? Damn you got better."

"I fagf a few days' release. To answer the second you f*****g deserved it. You were supposed to report back to me if any s**t went down between Courtney and barraman and you failed totem me she tried to end her life, her f*****g life, Rudder!"

"I was dealing with it bro."

"You know to report back to me if anything and I mean anything happens to Courtney. "

"I know." I sighed. "I'm sorry bro. I was trying to keep you out of it as much as possible. I didn't want you to ruin your chances to prove your parents wrong. This had gone way out of hand Jossiah."

I couldn't agree more.

"Who's at the door bro?"

He gulped and I placed my finger against my lips to sush him.

He stood frozen to the spot as that little prick of a brother came towards him. "Bro, are you deaf who's at the door?"

"Me." I said coldly.

He looked at me. I'm in total utter shock and not anticipating my next move. My fist connected either his jaw. It cracked on impact. Dam. I think I broke the douches' jaw.

"Awe, f**k was that for?"

I laughed at his dumbness. Did he think I wouldn't get to know what happened to Courtney? "Don't be dumb and f**k of s**t Thomas. You f*****g promised to take care of Courtney whilst I was gone. And what do I hear?" I questioned.

He looked through me, pissing me off even more.

"You abandoned her! You took that prick Barraman's side over your friends. YOU'RE f*****g FRIENDS!"

"SHE UNLEASHED INFO ABOUT ALL OF US. AND I JEAN ALL OF US. EXCEPT ISAAC!"

I looked at him with a raised eyebrow. What in actual f**k was he talking about?

"WHAT?!"

"COURTNEY CHEATED ON ISAAC WITH BARRAMAN. WE DON'T KNOW THE INS AND OUTS BUT HE MADE IT CLEAR IT WAS HER SECOND TIME."

"BULLSHIT. COURTNEY ISN'T LIKE THAT."

"SHE MAY HAVE NOT HAVE BEEN BEFORE HER COMPLETE WARDROBE AND ATTITUDE CHANGE!"

"SHE CHANGE TO BENEFIT HERSELF NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS." I snapped irritatedly, wanting to snap his neck but knew if I did I would be out of the army for good no questions asked and I couldn't let that happen. I couldn't keg everyone down who had faith in me succeeding.

"SHE'S BECOME A WHORE."

I snapped, lunging forward, Rudder trying to stop me as I beat the living s**t out of his brother almost to death.

He managed to pull me away. "Calm down Jo. I think he's learnt his lesson."

I grunted. "Never and I mean never use that word against an angel again. Next time your brother won't be here to stop me from beating you to death. Courtney is an angel not a devil unlike the person you chose to stick by, get your facts straight before you even call her such a name. You're pathetic, you truly are. If Courtney never has you as a friend again I won't blame her, you're a pathetic excuse as a friend and a confidant."

I looked at Rudder. "If this little prick fails to apologise to Courtney call me and ill deal with him."

He nodded.

I returned his nod. No words were exchanged between us as I left stoll angered with what that little prick had said against my angel. my knuckles were all bloody and the skin peeling back.

I needed to clean up so I headed back to the motel we'd all booked into

I walked alone, my friends had all gone home. Bryce and Tucker left us hours ago. Tucker was still in a pissy mood because his sister had cut him off for the umpteenth time. Good riddance to bad rubbish I say.

She'll come around eventually, she always does. She's such a leech. I can't wait to get rid of her sorry ass for good. f*****g attention seeker. For f**k sake if you can't stand the head stay out of the f*****g kitchen.

She made so much of a show. The sluts in my year were actually having second thoughts about what had happened.

I needed to think quick she would be in hospital a while 'recuperating' from her "episode" I scoffed. F'n episode my ass. She was seeking attention and it worked. I needed to get her out of this school and out of my life for good.

She was giving me a headache due to Tucker's younger and annoying sister, but he was my best friend and in this case blood was not thicker than water.

I don't regret the kiss but she will regret the day she let me down for the rest of her days. What the f**k did Isaac have that I didn't? He was a stupid, risk taking and reckless teenager.

I turned the corner wondering how I could get rid of her for good when tel largely built guys approached me. "You Ashton Barraman?"

"Who's asking?"

"Cocky little bastard. Are you him or not?"

"We have a message for you."

"And what would that be?"

His fist connected with my face. I stumbled and another flew to the right side of my face. Suddenly, I stumbled again. Who were these guys they had more power in their punch than I would ever have.

"Wrong answer kid." Was all the guy said before hitting me again. I stumbled another punch. I fell to the ground. The punches were hard, accurate, fast and hard.

A boot hot my stomach repeatedly I coughed fucm who were these guys? How did they know Courtney? Did they know her brother? Had word to him that I was tormenting her?

All these questions kept swimming around in my head as they beat me to the brink of death. "Stay away from Courtney Mendez or we'll be back and we'll finish you."

They walked away to mere shadows. The last thing I heard before I lost consciousness was. "s**t Ash stay awake. I'm calling an ambulance.

My eyes flickered closing.
