Courtney - school
I entered the school alone. Tucker was with his new friends. Like I cared they could all rot in hell for all I cared after what he said to me last night he can go to hell and his new found friend, Ashton “Asher” Barraman can join him there.
I went to the office and told them that I was new here and the receptionist told me politely to wait for the head mistress. So I did. The lady in her early forties in a skirt suit with a white blouse walked out, smiling. “You must be Courtney Mendez?”
“I am.”
“I’m your principal. Miss. White.” She said smiling.
I returned her smile. “I understand you came with your brother where is he?’’
‘He’s with his…’
“I’m here.”
“Perfect, you must be Tucker Mendez?”
“I am mam.”
I rolled my eyes, pathetic.
“I’m your principal Miss. White.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you mam.”
I rolled my eyes, why is he sucking up like he cares if she’s the head of this school or not now he’s hanging with that no hopper Ashton Barraman.
“Well let me show you to your new classrooms.”
We nodded, I pulled myself up off the sofa following her out Tucker striding casually next to me. “Court, can we talk?”
I ignored him.
“Please sis, I’m sorry.”
I continued to ignore him as the principal showed us to our classes and introduced us to our teachers. Tucker was in the same class as that i***t; Ashton Barraman. She continued to my new class. She introduced me to a beautiful lady she called Miss. Colloren. She looked around twenty five ish give and take she welcomed me into the class and showed me to my seat. The principal left for her to continue her lesson. The bell went for break and we all made our way to our coats before heading out for break.’ Hey wait Courtney.’
I looked around to see a fair haired girl jog up to me smiling. “I’m Simone and these are my friends; Eva and Aria.”
I looked at the other two girls one had tanned skin, dark black hair, the other was of pale complexion and blonde hair.
“Hi.”
“Hi.” They chimed.
“We were talking and we’d like to be your friends. We know how hard it is being new and we’d like it if you’d be our friend.”
“Sure why not?”
“Cool, you can meet the others.”
“Others?”
“Yeah. Isaac, Jayden and Theo.”
‘Okay.’
‘Don’t look so nervous you’ll like them, and I’m sure they’ll like you.’
I smiled nervously as they hooked their arms with mine as we all walked out to the playground. We walked over to three boys they looked pretty butch for nine year olds but hey, why the hell. Simone coughed and the three boys looked around and holy hell they were cute. “Boys we’d like you to meet Courtney our new friend, Courtney these are our friends, Isaac, Jayden and Theo. Theo is Eva’s brother, Jayden is Aria’s brother and they are my cousins.”
Wow.
“Nice to meet you kitten.”
I blushed.
Argh how cute.”
“Don’t.” Simone warned.
“But, she looks so cute when she blushes.”
“And you're not using your crummy lines on her either.”
“Sorry kitten. Welcome to the gang.” Theo said, holding his hand out.
I looked at him and he smiled. I looked at Simone and she nodded. So I placed my hand on his and he brought it up to his mouth, kissing it gently, making me blush even more.
“That’s enough Theo, we want to welcome her too.”
He grinned winking before losing my hand.
I was pulled into a bear hug. “Ignore him Courtney welcome to the gang.”
He moved away no sooner had he pulled away from me than I was taken into another bone crushing hug. “Welcome to the gang cutie.”
“Thanks.” I replied trying my hardest not to blush.
“Let her go Jayden, or I’ll break your arm again.” Simone warned.
He backed away. He smiled. I returned his smile unsure I felt like I was getting the evils.
“I wouldn’t look now cause I would say someone’s jealous.”
I looked over to see not only my brother glaring angrily and Ashton fuming. What was his problem doesn’t he hate me anyway? “Oh nothing to worry about, that's just my brother and his Jackass friend.”
“Your brother knows Ashton Barraman?”
“We both do, unfortunately he lives in our street.”
“I pity the both of you, I really do.”
“Why?”
“Cause he’s the bad boy of this school everyone is scared of him.”
“Well I’m not, he's just a hyped up kid trying to prove himself.”
The bell rang and we all went back inside till lunch. I walked alone my friends were still in the cafeteria chatting and I really needed to use the bathroom. Once I had relieved myself and washed my hands I headed out of the bathroom heading back to my friends, someone pushed me against the wall, pinning me to it. Boy this wasn’t my day, he was looking angrily at me. “I hope you're happy with what you’ve done?”
“Why what have I done?”
“You know why you've done leech.”
I shuddered, trying to hold back my tears. “No I don’t.”
“Thanks to your scene yesterday, you have to come to my home with your brother.” He glared at me through his dark, hollow eyes. ‘There is a no girl policy.’
“Like I want to be within ten foot of you. I wouldn’t even entertain going to your house and spending time with you and your friends even for my Brother!” I hissed with so much hatred.
“I’m glad we understand one another.” He said, letting go of me. “Oh and one more thing.” He said, looking at me. “Stay away from me and my friends.” He said, before walking away.
“Don’t worry I will,” I mumbled, walking away.
I continued back to the cafeteria and back to my friends.’ Hey are you okay?’
“Yeah I’m fine.” I lied.
“Are you sure Courtney, we saw Ashton walk out just after you.”
“I’m fine.”
“We’ll kick his ass if he dares to start on you.”
“I’m fine honestly.” Lie.
“Okay.”
They dropped it and we all went outside til the bell rang to tell us it was time for afternoon lessons. We all walked in.
“Hey Courtney!”
We all looked around to see a butch looking kid approach us. I didn’t even know this kid. How did he even know my name?
I looked at my friends and they looked scared, but why?
“We’ll see you in the class Courtney.”
“Okay.” I sighed and the left heading down the corridor.
He jogged up to me. “Hey I met your brother the other day I’m Bryce, I’m one of Asher’s friends.” He said. Smiling
Great that’s. All I need is one of his goons trying to talk to me.
I politely smiled. “Sorry I have to go to class.”
“Let me walk you.”
“Thanks, but no thanks.”
“I don’t bite.”
“What-ever!” I sighed and his smile grew wider.
“Let’s go then.”
I walked beside him as we walked down the corridor. “So, how’s your first day been?”
‘Good.’
“I wanted to speak to you the other day when you and your brother moved in, but Asher said not to.”
“He would wouldn't he.” I thought sarcastically.
“I expected him to invite you to his house with Tucker.”
“He stated no girls aloud.’”
‘“True, but we all have to make friends.’”
‘“I guess.’”
He smiled. “I’d like to be your friend, Courtney.”
“What about Asher?”
“What about him?”
“He won’t like it.” I mumbled.
“I don’t care, I'd still like to be friends.”
“I’m in the year below you so how’s that going to work?’
“I’ll find a way. So friends?”
I looked at him, he looked so hopeful I shouldn’t help but agree when he smile so sweetly. “Okay.”
He flung his arms around me hugging me tightly. “You won’t regret this. I promise.”
God what had I done?
He took his arms from around me. “Well here we are Courtney, your class awaits.”
I smiled. “Thanks for walking me.”
‘No problem friend.’
I smiled saying goodbye. I’d made a few friends today, one I didn’t expect to be was one of Asher’s.
I walked into the lesson sitting opposite Simone. She looked at me and whispered. “What did Bryce want ?”
So she knew him too, figures.
“He wanted to be friends.”
Her face paled as if she found the revelation hard to believe. “Are you kidding me? The great Bryce Smithton actually asked someone to be his friend? Not anyone but you.”
“Do you really find that hard to believe?”
“I do. Considering Bryce Smithton doesn’t ask anyone to be his friend, they usually invite him to be their friend. He mostly declines cause he is the great Ashton Barrman’s best friend and you have to be accepted by him or you don’t get the honour of being his friend.
“Seriously?”
“Seriously.”
Well damn.
“Your lucky Courtney he doesn’t usually offer friendship, unless Asher says it’s cool. You’re lucky.”
I smiled forcefully, well that’s it I’m officially doomed.
“Right class, less of the chatter, we’re here to work not gossip.” Our teacher said, and smiled.
Our lessons continues till three and we all waited outside our parents to pick us up.
Mom picked us up as usual, dad was at work and no doubt he’d be working late again.
