Courtney
No one said a word, not one single word as we entered the house. Me and Tucker went up to our rooms he slammed his bedroom door shaking my room to I could hear him muttering curse words of how un f*****g fare this all was.
I couldn't agree more right now. This was unfair on the both of us. We had no idea there would be more than us, our friends, Ace and Lawrence. We didn't know they would invite their friends without informing their parents, for godlike they were grown ass men they should've known better they should've known the consequences they should've known we were the ones to get into trouble for it not them.
I'm sure Simone is getting it in the neck for her brother's foolishness.
They should never have grounded us. It wasn't even our fault, none of us were at fault. What were we expected to do? Go running to our parents and rat on them, telling our parents that they had friends around and they were drinking in our company I think not.
Simone would never say a wrong word against her brother. Ace was trying his damn hardest to keep everything at hand but he failed miserably either those delinquent friends of his. He was the only mature one out of all of them, but mouse and he was a douche.
I think Isaac and Tucker had both had enough of his antics around me and were about to deck him. I'd had enough but I was too polite to tell him to go to hell.
This grounding isn't going to sir well with any of us.
Tucker
I slammed my door. I'm so pissed right now Bryce isn't even in here. I haven't seen him since I stormed up here. I can't believe they've done this again and for once it's neither of our faults.
I can't believe that dumb mass Ace didn't even let him parents know his friends would be there too. I know Ash mentioned that Lawrence and the others were going to Ace's because they hadn't seen each other in four years. No other friends were mentioned. Looking at Courtney and her friends when we walked in I'd say that they were in the same boat as us. They'd been drinking for sun even if they didn't realise they had. Someone had given them a drink, or many.
I can't believe our dad is overreacting like this. It isn't like we were doing anything wrong, it was Ace and his so-called. That mouse guy needed to be taken down a peg or two flirting around my baby sister. He's in his early twenties ffs what was so interesting with a fourteen year old girl that he couldn't get from a girl of his own age, if that play boy ever cones near my sister or touches her I kill him. I punched my wall in anger. My sister can be so naive sometimes she has no clue when a guy is coming on to her. I'm just glad we don't ever have to see them ever again.
Bryce
I've bever seen Tucker so angry before Mr. Mendez pulled me back. "Leave him. Give him time he'll calm down."
I nodded.
"We need to call your parents to tell them what's gone on."
"Why?" I whined. I knew this wasn't going to be good. It never was. They'd make sure I went with them next time just to keep me out of trouble.
"They need to know that what we believed wasn't the actual truth Bryce. We failed."
"No you didn't, none of us knew the others would be there."
"Don't try and defend my kids bryce it's sweet and all. But they did nothing to tell us there would be more adults thereupon just Ace and Lawrence. We didn't expect to see a house full of twenty something olds and males at that. Anything could've happened."
I bowed my head and nodded.
Me. Mendez called my parents telling them everything. "Yes I understand. Yes we are concerned too."
He offered me his mobile. I shook my head and didn't need an ear full of my midget, not today. But he pushed the mobile to me and smiled as if everything was going to be okay. I took it off him, putting it to my ear. "Hi mom."
She shrieked down the speaker I held it away from my ear so not to burst my eardrums. I hardly heard what she was saying. The disappointment was clear in her voice, all I caught. "You're coming either us next entered no questions asked. Do you understand young man?"
"Yes mom."
We said our goodbyes and I paused the mobile to Mr. Mendez. "Sorry Bryce but they had every right to know."
"I know." I sighed. "I'm going to see if Tucker has calmed down or Courtney wants any company."
"Sure. Just remember this is not your fault Bryce."
"It's not theirs either." I muttered pulling myself up the stairs. I knocked on Tucker's door. "Tuck."
"Not now Bryce."
"Sure."
Shit he's still mad I can't blame him either.
I went to Courtney's room. "Angel. Can I come in?"
"It's open Bryce."
I smiled, opening the door, stepping in, closing it behind me.
"Is Tucker still vexed?"
"Yeah."
"So I'm second best? I'm wounded."
"No no. Nor at all."
She smithereens. "Just kidding. Gee Bryce take a chill pill."
"I just came to see how you are. I tried tucker but he's still.."
"Angry."
"Yeah." I sighed."
"What's wrong Bryce?"
"Well."
She tapped the bed, I smiled and asked over kicking my shoes off. I sat next to her. "You look like you've been punched in the gut Bryce?'
"It feels like it."
"You can tell me you know."
"Your dad called my parents and told ghrm what happened, they weren't too thrilled." I looked at her. "I won't be joining you next winter."
"Why? Isn't it like our little traditions ahf smiled.
"Was. Mom is making me join get and dad after what happened this year."
"Well that sucks."
"Tell me about it."
"Nibe if this was our fault Bryce, bur everyone is acting like it is. Is unfair."
"Tell me about it." I sighed.
"Let's watch a movie."
I smiled. "Now you're talking angel."
She flicked through the channels and we settled on watching horror, not to gory though.
I looked down and she had her head laid on my shoulder sleeping peacefully. I smoked, moving her hair off her face and kissing her forehead. "I love you angel I always will, but I know I'll never be the right guy for you. I want to see you happy even if it's not with me." I said, closing my eyes.
God I wished things were different, but I know they never would be. She needs a guy like Isaac not a guy like me.
