Courtney
I hadn’t slept ugh that night. I was too consumed in my thoughts about the whole scenario with Bryce, he was acting kinda weird yesterday. I’d never seen him act that weird before, especially around me. What the hell was going on in that head of his? Guess we’ll never know for sure. Tucker had already left to meet his friends and I was heading to Simones. All the guys were having a snooker battle at her house in the games room, which was supposed to be off limits but she didn’t care her elder brother wasn’t there to throw us all out. So I was walking there with Issac as he only lived a few streets away from me.
I stepped out of the house. He stood waiting and looked up and smiled at me, I returned his smile. “Afternoon kitten.” He smirked.
“Good morning to you too Issac.”
He laughed. We hugged and he dropped his arm over my shoulders. “Shall we kitten?”
“We shall?”
He grinned widely trying not to laugh.
“You’re in a good mood this morning.”
“Only for you kitten.”
I pushed him playfully. “Shut up.”
“Only the truth kitten.”
‘Whatever.”
“You ready for me to beat you at snooker.”
“You wish. I’m going to whoop your ass.”
He laughed out loud. “You wish, kitten, you wish.”
“Wanna bet on it?”
He grinned evilly.
Oh oh.
“So what is the bet?” I goaded.
“What’s in it for me kitten?”
“If I win you have to sit through every romantic movie.”
“And if I win?”
“Same but action or horror.”
“What about you win I’ll do any itv you ask and if I win you have to spend one month with me cleaning up after me doing everything I say and buy me ice cream or pizza when we’ve I ask and you have to go out with me once and not as friends.”
I gulped. “Sure.”
He beamed.
“Great, shake on it.” He said holding his hand out.
I shook it. God what have I got in to?
We finally reached Simone’s and he dropped his arm from around me. I knocked the door opened and we were greeted by Simone’s beaming smile. “Guys come in, glad you could make it.”
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
She closed the door. “We’re all doen in the basement, my brothers’ games room come on.”
We followed her down the stairs. “Are you sure about this Simone? What if he comes back?”
“He won’t. He’s out with his ‘so called friends’ at the motorbike track and he won’t be back until later.”
“Okay if you’re sure.”
“I am, now stop being a wuss everyone’s waiting so we can start we’ve decided to play boy girl and the woman left stand one are to have a face off.”
“Okay.”
We all went into the basement and everyone cheered. “Bout time you two got here we were bored of waiting. We almost started without you.”
“Why didn’t you?”
“Yes why didn’t we Sim?” Theo asked, glaring.
“I wanted everyone to be here. I know there’s an odd number so whoever wins every round gets to play Courtney. Seeing as she’s new to all of this we’ll do it that way.”
‘Fine with us.”
“You’ve done this before?”
“All the time, when Ace is out he’ll have a fit otherwise.”
I nodded and made a note that Ace must be Simone’s older brother.
I stood and watched as they played against one another. The one who won played against me then the next and next until it came down to me and Issac. They were all pretty good at this I must admit my cousins had taught me and Tucker how to play the game a few years back I was crap at it to begin with but with practice I got the hang of it. Then I got pretty good, almost as good as Tucker. I never beat him.
I never told Issac I knew how to play. They were all impressed to say the least. We all shook hands and went to the next game. Issac grinned at me reminding me silently of our deal. I nodded and he took the break after a flip of the coin. I swear he sheared. Oh well.
The game was furious. He was good, really good it came down to the black, he pointed at the far end pocket then struck the ball way too hard. It crashed against the corners of the snooker table and missed the pocket. He cursed, then looked at me. “Your turn kitten.” He winked.
“If you pot the black you win, Courtney.”
I nodded and pointed to the pocket where I wanted it to go.
“Good luck with that kitten.”
I bent down to position the cue and went to strike the ball.
“What the hell is going on in here?”
I hit the cue a little too hard. Damn what the hell?
“Well?”
“What are you doing back Ace? You’re supposed to be with your delinquent friends. And you just ruined Courtney’s shot.”
“No I didn’t.” The guy Simone called Ace pointed out, so he’s her brother Mmh. Whatever .
They all tuned I’d watched the black ball bounce off each corner and roll back up to where I had wanted it to go, and it slips effortlessly into the pocket. I screamed so loud that I thought I’d broken the sound barrier.
“Damn that was a lucky shot.” Jayden praised.
“Fluke.” Isaac grumbled.
“Damn girl. I’m next.”
“We’re done Ace.”
“I don’t care, this is my games room and you invaded it so I’m playing the girl. I’d she wins you can come in whenever you want if I win she cleans my room for a month and you have to beg me to come down here and use my snooker table deal?”
“Deal.”
“No Simone.” I screamed out.
“Come on Courtney, you’ve beaten all of us fare and square. You’ll beat him to.”
“And what if I don’t?”
“You will. I have faith in you.”
‘I don’t.”
“Come on Court.”
“Yeah come in Court” He mimicked.
I do want to slap that cocky smirk of his goddamn face. “Sure why the hell not, what have I got to lose?”
“That’s it cutie.”
The banging on the door interrupted them. “I’ll go get it, you set up the table.”
“Sure.”
He walked out of the room. “I don’t know about this, guys.”
“You'll be fine Courtney.”
“And what if I’m not?”
“Then I pity you, his room is way worse than Isaac’s.”
“Hey.”
