"Come on baby," Lycan King Miller groaned, still walking towards his room. "I've told you not to think too much about this." He said to Alicia, his daughter, who was stubbornly following him.
"How do you expect me not to think too much about this, father? Aren't you aware of the fact that he has taken Selene in, as his mate? Do you think I should still be calm after that?" Alicia asked, walking furiously behind him. The issue was definitely something important and there was no way she planned on letting it go like that.
The moment Lycan King Miller got to stand in front of the door, the guards were quick enough to push the door open for him. That was tradition for someone of his position.
His room was oddly painted black, with the curtain as white as snow. The light illuminating the room was also dim. Right by his left hand side beside the window, laid his king size bed which was covered in white sheets. And right in front of him, a few meters away from him hung his magnificent book shelf. It would have been off for a Lycan King to have such a bookshelf if it were in the 90's. But as it stood, civilization had changed everyone and everything. Even those in the supernatural world.
When he got in, the servants quickly trooped in and began to open up the curtains, and did everything they had to do.
"Father!" Alicia cried the moment the door was closed shut.
"Oh, goodness." Come on Alicia. I have heard all you have been saying to me.
"You heard all I have been saying to you? Really? And that's it, no solution to it?" Alicia scoffed. "Why aren't you taking any of this seriously?" She almost yelled. One could tell that she was already frustrated at the whole thing.
"And what makes you think I'm not taking any of it seriously?" He asked.
"You're acting so nonchalant about the whole situation." Alicia was quick to voice out.
"Okay. What exactly is it that you want me to do now? I have a meeting with a few elders now. And that's what I'm rushing to attend to." He said, and began to pull off his cloak.
"Even if you have a meeting, I don't think that should be a reason enough to neglect your daughter's needs." Alicia went on. Definitely, she wasn't going to let things slide away so easily.
Seemingly frustrated at the unending questions and tackling, Lycan King Miller sat on his bed. He let out a deep sigh before taking his eyes up at his daughter. She always has her ways of getting whatever she wants.
"I'm sorry baby." Lycan King Miller let out. "Now, tell me what it is that you want." He said, even if deep down, he was aware of what she wanted. But then, he knew how his daughter could get. She loved to be pleased, she loved that attention. And he couldn't think twice about giving it to her because she was all he had from the only woman he had loved.
"I don't know what it is you're going to do. But whatever it is, I want Tristan to be mine. I don't give two f***s about whatever stupid mate bond he has with Selene. All I want is my man for myself." Alicia boldly said.
"And do you trust me to help you get that done? Do you trust your father?" He asked, a large smile exposing from his face. He stood from his bed and walked up to her caressing her cheeks.
"Yes, I do." Alicia said.
"Good."
Alicia had always been head over heels in love with Alpha Tristan. From the stories she heard about him down to how physically endowed he was, Alicia believed he was the perfect man for her. But she was beginning to fear that there would be a change of story since he had gotten himself a mate other than her.
She hastened her steps as she found her way back to her room. She has decided to let her father free to attend his meeting with the so-called elders she never cared about.
Just one side of her plan had been accomplished. And she believed she was on her way to getting everything she had always wanted.
"Alicia," she heard someone call her from behind, but she didn't stop even if she knew who it was. "Wait up." The person said again.
"If you can't keep up, then do not bother calling me." Alicia said. Immediately, Melody ran as fast as her legs could carry her closer to Alicia.
"Oh, my goodness." She bent for a while to catch her breath. "Did you eventually speak to your father?" Melody asked, still panting.
"Yes, I did. And I pray the old man doesn't fail me this time." Alicia said, still walking. She didn't care if she was walking faster than Melody could catch up.
"But before that, do you plan on doing anything at all? You know, like hurting Selene." Melody said. Unexplainable, Alicia quickly stopped in her movement. Melody, who had not expected her to stop so abruptly, stepped on her toe immediately.
"s**t!" Melody cried. Her expression had changed to that of fear as Alicia turned towards her direction. "No, I'm sorry. I didn't know you were going to stop." She began to plead, with tears already strolling down her cheeks. She had just stepped on the tail of the lion.
Just as she bent to use her tongue in wiping off the dirt, Alicia walked away.
Melody stood up immediately, watching where she was going to in surprise.
"Alicia," she called out immediately. "Why are you going there?" She questioned, but nothing came from Alicia. So, she followed her.
Furiously, Alicia kicked the door open. "This is supposed to be the room of that Selene b***h, right?" She asked.
"Uhm...yes. I think so. Or, I heard." Melody said, her eyes accessing the room. Cobwebs and dust had helped feast on the room due to the fact that no one had occupied it for years. White sheets were used to cover up most of the antiques and properties that occupied the room.
Immediately, Alicia turned to Melody with a smirk on her face.
"Don't you think this is better and bigger than my room!" She asked.
"Uh - uhm" Melody stuttered. "No, no I don't really think so. This is -"
"Nevermind." Alicia shut her with her hands up.
Melody was the only person in the palace who could get closer to Alicia. Even if she thought of herself as a friend, every other person felt pity that she was just too blind to see that Alicia didn't take her as one. All she was to her was a slave, her personal maid she could make use of however she pleased.
"Tell the servants to clean this place up and have my things moved in here right away." She said, "I'm going to turn every single damn thing of Selene's into mine. Just like she stole my man." She smirked with an evil look on her face.
