Chapter 2

Miles Pov.     How can this be? Just when I was close to finding a way to break the curse he put on me. At first I didn’t believe it,  but the facts can’t be ignored when it keeps hitting you in the face. My plan to get pregnant was put to a stop because of this predicament. Now that I think about it, maybe I can use this in my favor. Make him believe I have changed and take down this curse. He hasn’t changed that much, I know he won’t realize what I have in mind. For this to work, I can’t be nice all of a sudden. That will be too obvious.             “You came, I was happy thinking you were dead, brother.”  I said as soon as I saw him. Like I said, this is a long game. I gotta get his trust back.             “The feeling is mutual, at least with not wanting to see you ever again. I may hate you, but I am not like you.” He answered me.             “How noble.” I said with sarcasm. He is so predictable, if he thinks I care about what he says or does, he has another thing coming. The only thing that will make me care is if it affects my plan.              “Can’t say the same about you.” He said to me, what a low blow. He wants to mess with me, two can play this game.             “How funny. Who are these people?” I asked Jennifer. It was hard, I can barely tolerate her. She showed her true colors when I couldn’t get pregnant. Bringing unmated omegas here to have s*x with my mate. Which didn’t work, thank the moon goddess. Derek is too busy feeling sorry for himself about what he did to Max. Poor i***t. If only he knew.             “The pack that came to help.” She said, rolling her eyes. She makes me want to punch her. I won’t do it, obviously, but it is a thought.              “And what does that make him?” I pointed at his face. He looked offended, too bad. Don’t care about you and your feelings.             “My mate and the Luna of our pack.” Said a handsome guy with his head held high.             “What? Impossible!” I said in disbelief. He can’t be that lucky, let alone twice.             “What is? Me having a mate? Or being a better Luna than you?” He sass at me. If I didn’t need him to take the curse, I would have slapped him hard.             “Both, because they can’t be more wrong.” I said looking at Jennifer, refusing to see him eye to eye. This is the first step of my plan, hard to get and little by little be “won over” by him. Just thinking about it makes me wanna puke.             “Better believe it, he is my true mate, Robert Pines. I would like to introduce you, but I won’t.” He smirked at me, reserving some comments. I can see he wanted to say so much more than that.             “I Wasn’t going to ask. Anything that has to do with you it’s not important.” I replied, trying to contain a grin.              “Great, we have the same thought.” He said to me. What I don’t get is his facial expression. Is he in a hurry? For what?              “Papa.” A child screamed, running our way. Whose child is he?              “Yeah, baby? Did you get tired of uncle's jokes?” Max answered the kid. He has a kid? That is so unfair. Why can he have everything and I get nothing? I deserved it more than him. I deserve every good thing in this world.             “HEY! My jokes are not that bad.” A handsome guy, with similar features as Robert responded. They must be brother’s.              “The ‘not bad’ is what kills it” Max said in amusement.              “Why are you so mean? Nathan, help me. Papa is being mean to uncle.” He faked being sad and pouted to the child.             “Papa, uncle is sad.” The kid, who I learned is named Nathan, told Max.             “I won’t baby, sorry.” He said, picking up Nathan and giving him a kiss. Making laugh and saying that it tickles.             “Nathan, right? I am your uncle too. Uncle Miles, I am your papa’s twin.” I said to the child, I can use him to get on Max's good side.              “Nathan does not talk to strangers. Papa told me about you, you are meanie.” The spoiled brat said to me. He doesn’t know who he is talking to. Someday he will learn.              “That was in the past, family is forever. Even when we fight, it doesn’t matter because we are twin brothers. We were together even in our mother’s belly.” I said, wanting to puke at every word.              “Can you be less obvious? Trying to get along with Nathan won’t make me forgive you. What do you want? You want the curse gone, right?” He mocked me. Why does he always know what I will do?             “No, what makes you say that? I am just being nice to the kid. Is that so wrong?” I try defending myself.             “Yes, because I know what you really are after. You should know by experience that I am a gifted wolf. I didn’t have to read your mind. You are easy to read.” He replied, taking a deep breath like talking to me is hard work. I am the one that should feel that way. I will get what I want. One way or another, you will see. Robert Pov     Seeing the two of them together confuses me for a second, but when you know one of them, you call to tell who is who. In my case, Max is kind and poise. It transmits through him. Meanwhile, Miles has a dark cloud around him. You can tell he has bad intentions, and the moles help too. What Max said was true. His intentions can be seen a mile away. My baby won’t help him at all. He knows he hasn’t learned anything. There is no remorse.              “Let’s just go. We will come back tomorrow.” I said to Max and our family.             “Yeah, that is a good idea.” He responded, he was carrying Nathan.             “Why don’t you guys stay longer? We are having dinner soon.” Jennifer asked us.             “No, let’s go.” Max said, already walking to the car. Gotta love the guy.  I love his confidence.             “You heard the Luna, let’s go. See you guys tomorrow.” I said and went after my mate.             “Yes, Alpha.” They said, getting in the respective cars.              “Yeah, see you guys tomorrow.” Jake said, not happy with the answer my mate gave them. Not that I care, he has good reasons. Inside the car I saw Max laughing. Couldn’t wait apparently.              “Babe, they can hear you.” I told him. When dad and mom got in the car, we started the way to our new pack territory.             “That is why I am doing it. Before I was too shy to stand up for myself, and I don’t want to be that person. Whatever they think of me does not defy me anymore. You realize that my parents, even after two years, didn’t feel the need to search for me. I should feel something but I don’t.” He confessed, I could feel his sadness. Even when he denies it, the indifference of his parents hurts him a lot.              “I know, babe. You don’t have to explain yourself. Never!” I told him.             “Thank you, by the way, I forgot to ask you. Can we visit my uncles? I don’t know what happened to them since I was gone. They were always there for me, even when I was mad at them for not letting me stay with them.” He asked me. Of course I will. He is my whole life.              “Anything for you, after we settle what we are going to do tomorrow, I promise we will visit them.” I promised him.             “I love you.” He said, those words always make me giddy.             “And I love you.” I said, kissing him on the lips. Causing him to hold a moan because Nathan is here with us. Mom was smiling through the rear mirror. She was trying to be secretive. Not working, Mom. This is my crazy family, and I wouldn’t change it for anything.
