Chapter 3

Max pov     The birds singing is a good way to wake up. Feeling Robert’s heat beside me is  a good way to wake up. However, in this case, waking up with the thought of going back to that pack is not fun. Miles' words resonate with me since we came to our new territory. If he thinks I am gonna fall for his stupid attempt to break the curse he has another thing coming. Nathan is off limits and he will have to learn the easy way or the hard way. The hard way seems to be the only option for him.      I haven't talked to Robert since we got back. What he thought of our little reunion is important to me. I will have to talk to him. The bed is so comfortable that having to get up was a struggle. Walking to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Robert seemed to realize when I got up and started to grunt. What a cute baby.             “It’s too early, come back to bed, baby.” He told me with his eyes closed.             “Do you know what day it is?” I asked him.             “Yeah, but they can wait. You, Nathan, our family and this pack is my priority             “Nice try. Get up, we have a long day ahead of us.” I told him, kissing his check and going inside the bathroom.              “Babee!” He whined, and reluctantly he got up and followed me to the bathroom.             “You are making me question your real age.” I said to him, pinching his checks.             “You know that is because it’s you, around you I can act like a spoiled kid.” He said with his chest puff up. As if what he said it’s something to be proud of.             “I just love you. That is why I don’t mind, even if I sometimes call you out on it.” I told him, grabbing his hand and giving it a squeeze.             “I don’t mind because I know you are just joking. I know you as much as I love you. Even the little things you don’t realize yourself.” He told  me. Those kinds of actions make me love him more.              “I can empathize, I feel the same way.” I told him, getting ready for the day. We have a big and stressful day about to come. The pack house was loud with the screams of the pups and the warriors who got up to train. It was 9:00 am, so we didn't want to go to that pack early. A minute is hard enough, imaging a whole day. I heard little steps hurrying to where we were. I know that is our little sunshine.             “Hey baby.” Robert and I said to Nathan when he got in front of us.             “Hello, Papa, Daddy.” He responden, putting his hands up, asking to be carried. And of course I won’t deny my cutie pie. I picked him up, kissing his check; Robert doing the same. He laughs, telling us that it tickles, like most times we do it. I know he is doing it to make us laugh. Either way I don’t mind, anything he does is cute.              “Why don’t you want Daddy to carry you too? I feel sad” Robert said, fake crying.              “Don’t be sad, you can carry me after Papa.” Nathan said, hugging Robert while being in my arms.             “Okay, I am not sad anymore, I will wait.” Robert stopped fake crying and put his hands on my waist.              “Let’s have some breakfast, shall we?” Robert said, guiding me and Nathan to the kitchen.      The menu for today's breakfast is garlic toast with scrambled eggs, oatmeal and french toast. I already know what I want. Scramble eggs with toast and oatmeal. Nathan will get a little of the scrambled eggs with french toast. He is a picky eater. Meanwhile, I know Robert will eat everything on the menu.      We didn’t have time to waste so we just ate quietly, waiting for Dad to give us the go on the visit to the Redmoon Pack. Even saying the name makes me want to puke. We didn’t wait long. When we saw him we got serious. Nathan was confused by our sudden change of mood.              “I know all of us dread going back there, but it needs to happen. Being a pack means helping each other, nevertheless, it doesn’t mean we have to like them. We have to act professional, this is just business. When you think about it that way, it is easier to handle the difficult situation.” Dad said to us. When he says it that way, it makes sense. I still don’t like it, but I can tolerate the predicament.              “Fine, we can do that.” Robert answered for the both of us. He knows what is passing through my head. I am easy to read. Or at least, that is what he tells me. I know he is using the link to get a feel of how I feel.             “Can I go, please?” Nathan asks us, putting his hands on Robert’s face, asking to be picked up by him this time. Robert didn’t waste any time to grab him.             “You can’t go, baby. It’s dangerous for you. I told you about my family, my brother is not to be trusted. I can’t leave you in a place that he is in. Can you do that for me? Stay here? I promise we will go out soon, all of us.” I told him, promising him a day out, as a way to calm him.             “You promise?” He asked me, smiling and eyes sparkling.             “Yeah, baby. I promise” I promise him.             “I promise too, we are going to have a family day soon. You just wait for us here, with your grandma, okay?” Robert told Nathan. It is true, Mom will stay behind to watch over Nathan. The only ones coming to the Redmoon Pack are Robert, Dad, Jordan and me. We don’t need anymore people because we are only making plans for dividing the training and strategies to catch the traitor that is inside that pack. I am sure of the rat behind all of this, but only time will tell. We will finish this, so that we can be at peace. Forever this time.
