Chapter 4. How Do you Settle?

" Hay douche face Dean's calling" a hunky guy shouted from far " Pig face be there in a few," he says shouting back I chuckle at their exchange stopping he says" sorry I have to go, but I guess I will see you around later," he says and I smile nodding my head he then turns jogging up to the guy who had called him. Guess I am doing this alone now.

I took a deep breath when I came to the entrance of the administrative block looking up to see that the logo had some sort of illumination that could not be described as tech and the logo and the same four familiar structures I had seen earlier a wolf, a woman with elf-like ears a man and a man with hat were on the crested logo.

A girl comes out of the administrative block smiling at me she had silver hair and pale white skin and yet she was nothing but beautiful in fact beautiful was becoming a least suited word to describe what these people looked like I smiled back at her she took that as her invitation to ask me

" are you new here?" I nod

" that obvious huh?" I ask she smiles

" don't worry you'll get used to the school over time," she says and goes ahead to take me to the administrative office herself.

" Morning Miss Nate here's the new student," she says greeting the fat woman that sat behind a desk with rimmed glasses and loads of paper on her desk  wait

" the new student" why was I a particular subject of discussion or perhaps because I was on scholarship I thought .Miss Nate looked up and upon seeing us a smile graced her face

" ah thank you Alaiyah" she says and Aliyah nods " excuse me miss Nate" she says and then whispers to me" I have to go now but we will meet soon," she says leaving me with Miss Nate what was with everyone and leaving and promising to meet with me soon.

 " ah yes please sit down Zara " Miss Nate says pointing to a chair  I turn in shock surprised that she knew me by name even though I had never met her. She gave me some paper to fill out it contained some set of rules which I found ridiculous

" students are not allowed to leave without permission from the appropriate authorities" the other set of rules appeared normal to me so I skimmed through them and the signed where I was supposed to sign after which I handed the signed paper back to Miss Nate who was currently nose deep in the many papers sprawled on her desk I looked around didnt she have an assistant or something. She checks to see if I have signed and after which she gives me some leaflets , a room key my class schedule and some other bulky pamphlets

" do you have any questions?" she asks after handing them over to me , but she was still nose deep in her paper work and she spoke as though I was disturbing her

" no I don't, thank you" I say getting up

" you are welcome to Rankeda Academy" she says in a voice that did not exactly convey her warm welcome

" thanks " I reply

rushing out to leave. Academy? why had she called it an Academy when its a University how could one even mix up the two? I thought perhaps I have been overthinking a lot today and  complicating simple things I needed to relax. If only I knew I was right to have thought those things if only I had paid more attention to the clues, there were everywhere and yet I had missed them.

The walk to the hostel was rather a long one as finding the hostel with the map proved to be difficult after asking for directions from a few other students I finally located it. The hall was huge I located my room  I knocked no one responded and then tried using the key I was given but to my surprise the door was not locked no one was around and the door was unlocked whoever my roommate was we are going to have serious issues, getting my stuff unpacked I settled in. I had hoped my roommate would be around so she would at least show me the ropes around here but it was already 8 p.m. and I couldn't wait up for her as I was exhausted. I locked the door and removed the key from the keyhole so that when she came back she wouldn't have to wake me up to open the door.

" hay new girl you are going to be late," a strange voice said and I jolted awake to find a girl with trimmed hair and glasses, going over her facials she looked normal like me you know not like those ethereal beings I had entered a plane with. She was beautiful,

" Hi i'm Darcy sorry didn't get a chance to meet you yesterday," she says

and I nod

" I am Zara'' I say and she smiles at me

" I will gist you all you need to know on our way but right now you need to get ready in the next 25 minutes else we will be late" she says

glancing at her wristwatch I hurriedly get my stuff and race to get a shower

" please wait for me " I call out

before entering the bathroom. I do my business as fast as possible and make sure to pick everything I would be needing.Darcy and I both head out together we still had about 10 minutes

." what class do you have now?" she asks

and I check the list to be sure

" Biology" I say excited about starting proper biology at a University she sighs

" well lucky you I'm taking that course again this year," she says with a huff

I don't know what to say to and reply with an " oh" instead.

" are there students like rules I should know of you know what to do to avoid being " the talk" I ask with quoted fingers she chuckles

"There isn't really anything like that you know everyone just stays in their lane, of course, there's those who like to brag and lie and all of that but just do you avoid confrontations but I think you'll be just fine, you don't strike me as a troublemaker " she replied
