Chapter 5. Thrills and Reels

The hall was larger than I expected with large hallways the amount of money spent on this school must have been ridiculous I mean there was a fountain in the welcome area of the hall that had a statue of a girl and a wolf which made absolutely no sense. Students were walking to various hallways no one was gawking at the statue like I was which made me question their aesthetic taste.

"Zara we are going to be late and trust me, Professor William, will not like that at all" Darcy called out to me

I had not even realized that I was behind. I walked up to her quickly we took the stairs and made about two turns and I silently thanked Darcy for waiting for me cause I would have definitely gotten lost with the map by now.

We entered the hall and students were seated already guess the whole I just got into University feeling is very much alive they had had books on their desks some had calculators which made me wonder why exactly someone would need a calculator in biology. I wanted to seat at the front seat row but the front rows were all occupied with a sigh I made it to the back seat. Darcy sat behind me the seats beside me were occupied. The lecturer came in soon and shut the doors before addressing us. He was a chubby man with a round belly and had a bald head I couldn't make out most of his features owing to my shortsightedness the glasses could only do so much.

" ahem," he says clearing his throat attracting attention to himself

"Welcome to Rankeda University, my name is Professor Williams Chub and I will be taking you Biology 101," he says from the tone of his voice I knew I would be sleeping in biology class. Halfway into class and I was bored already I turned to check on Darcy but she was snoozing already I smiled damn the girl had zero chills. The guy beside me was dozing off as well and just when I gave up and wanted to doze off the class ended dang!

Darcy had another class for Noon so she left for the library I was all alone I had another class Strategic studies 101 the hall was B12 and the map did little justice in describing the route to the hall to a confused me. I made a turn to the left corridor after the second flight of stairs which made me wonder why such a school as this would not have an elevator. The passage seemed deserted I walked around all the doors did not have a tag on them which was weird since all the other doors we passed with Sara had tags on them. I walk straight and then turn left and I hear voices low ones coming from the second door I start walking towards them when someone calls me from afar

"hay what are you doing here" a male voice shouts and a familiar one I turn round to find Darren he walks up to me

" oh hey I was looking for hallB12 and the map confused me, " I tell him

" This area is restricted though except if you were looking for me ?" he asks wiggling his brows with a smirk. I smile.

" Darren what's going on there ?" a voice from the closed room asks

" oh s**t," Darren says under his breath

" nothing I will escort the student to her class now sir " he replies and there's silence he moves his head in the other direction and we walk towards it

" so how did you even come here in the first place it's not on the map," he asks me hands in his pockets

 " but it was " I reply taking out my map from my jean pocket and handing it to him he goes through it

" there's nothing that leads to this area," he says showing me

"it's right..." I stop mid-sentence he was right nothing was there

" but it was there how did it ...? I mean I could have sworn it was there," I say  my eyebrows knit together trying to remember what I saw

" uh-huh" he replies much to my mortification.

" so how has been your experience so far?" he asks

" well, awesome the school is definitely what I expected" I answer which piqued his interest

" not what you expected how so? he asks

" uhm I meant more than expected " I answer him a bit distracted my mind was racing back to the whole map thing I could have sworn that it was there how did it just vanish then?

"hello did you hear me at all?" Darren says waving his hand in front of my face I shake my head slightly

" oh sorry I was carried away, " I say he nods rather than ask me what I am thinking about he says this instead

" I said the school is great if you don't step on the wrong toes there are some bad guys here," he says and I reply oh

" But you are not one of the bad guys or should I be worried," I ask he makes a face which earns a laugh from me he had his face set on serious eyebrows drawn together but his  eyes made him look like a cute kitten It was hilarious

" damn so that didn't scare you?" he asks confusion on his face I chuckled part of me wondering why he would want me to be frightened by him.

" here we are, I will see you around," he says distracted and walks away with hurried footsteps. Well, that was weird. I stood in front of the closed doors for a moment great now I was late and will give the lecturer something to talk about.
