Sage POV I was weary as I made my way upstairs. The cook had been kind enough to make dinner, some delicious chicken concoction that had melted in my mouth, but I had barely tasted it, feeling alone as I sat at the dining table, glancing every so often towards the doorway, as though hoping that Chase might come through the door at any minute. Why would he be in a hurry to come home, Sage, after the way you treated him? You acted as though you couldn't wait to get away from him. Was it any wonder he left to go do something else? You're angry and upset, but you still could have been a bit nicer to him. Chase's life has changed as well, not just yours, you know.
