Chapter 9

Jannelliza's pov:

It has been 3 days since we found out who the impostor is, and in the past 3 days we haven't found anything yet. I'm starting to get pissed off while looking at a mountain of screen scrolls on the top of my desk, I've already read a hundreds of them but still nothing.

"Damn it!" I angrily said.

"What happened?" Marcial asked.

"I just can't find the hidden identity of Mr. And Mrs. Arjo." I said with a firm tone.

Binuksan ko naman ang holographic monitor namin at binilugan ang kampo ng mga rebelde.

"The Rebellion found a way to cover themselves from the empire." Kris Ann said.

"How is that possible?" I asked.

"I think someone own a good technology inside the rebels" Kris Ann said.

"Could that be possible?" I asked.

"Yes." they all said.

Dahil sa galit ay binato ko ang remote na hawak ko sa isang gilid, lumabas naman ako upang pumunta sa office ni daddy.

"Hey Dad." I said while knocking at his door.

"Pasok ka anak," ngiting sagot ni Daddy kaya naman pumasok na ako.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"I'm just trying to create something that can help you so you wouldn't need a monthly dose of your medicine." Dad explained.

"How is it so far?" I asked once again.

"I have 3 candidates that gives me good result." He said.

"Let me see." I excitedly said.

"I have a lot of sample of your blood when you're being weak, your blood turns black when you're on that condition. Your blood turns normal red when you receive your medicine, this is the first candidate and it can turns your blood normal for 7 months, the second one is for 9 months and the last one 12 months. " Dad explained.

"That's amazing Dad." I said in amazement.

Dad suddenly stared at me with a smile on my face.

"Is something wrong with my face?" I asked.

"Wala naman anak, it's just feel new to me to see you smiling again." Dad said with a warm smile.

I suddenly felt guilty because I know yun dahil

"I'm sorry Dad." I said before diverting my gaze.

"That's ok Jannelliza, I understand." He said while he rub his finger in my hand.

Rea's pov:

I'm currently cooking my lunch when Ivan suddenly appeared in the kitchen.

"Ang aga mo ata?" tanong ko rito.

"Yeah, wala naman kasing gagawin dun sa kampo eh." Lumapit na sagot nito sa'kin bago timingin sa ni luluto ko.

"Buti sakto para sa atin yung niluluto ko," ngiting sagot ko rito.

"Aakyat lang ako sandali ma," paalam nito.

Matapos umakyat ni Ivan ay hindi ko maiwasan tignan ito dahil ang laki na nito pero pansin ko rin na iba na ang ugali nito, inilabas ko naman ang picture namin pamilya bago ngumiti ng bahagya.

"Ivan!" Sigaw ko matapos mag-luto.

"Eto na Ma!" Sigaw ni Ivan mula sa taas.

Pagbaba nito ay agad kaming kumain, habang kumakain kami ay tinitignan ko lamang ito dahil may mga katanungan na tumatakbo sa isip an ko.

"What is it Ma?" Ivan asked.

"Have you seen your father and your sister?" I asked.

He suddenly stopped from eating before looking at me.

"Jannelliza is now the General of the Empire Army while Dad has been the talked in the empire and they think he'll be the one replacing Dr. Anderson once Dr. Anderson once it retire from his pisition." He said with a serious tone.

Bigla naman akong napatigil matapos kong marinig kung ano na ang buhay ng mag-ama ko, they really did pick the easier way of living.

"Do you think that I made the wrong decision?" I asked.

"What do you mean mom?" Ivan asked back with a curios facial expression.

"Sa tingin mo ba na mali na tinakas ko kayo mula sa Empire, sa tingin mo ba na dapat nanatili na lang tayo? Kung hindi tayo umalis edi sana buo parin ang pamilya natin," saad ko rito.

"No Ma, nabulag sila Ate ng kapangyarihan kaya kailangan nilang mag bayad." Hawak ni Ivan sa kamay ko.

"Anak," tanging lumabas sa bibig ko.

"You're a perfect Mother for me Ma, pero sila Ate na ang pumili ng landas na tinahak nila," sagot ni Ivan sa'kin.

"Galit kaba sa Daddy at Ate mo?" tanong ko rito.

"I am Ma, hindi ko alam na gagamitin kami ni Dad para makilala s'ya lalo. He used me and my sister for his experiment, now look at me and ate Jannelliza." Ivan firmly said.

"Don't be Ivan, your father just did that experiment to save you and your sister's lives." I calmly said.

"I can't ma, hindi ko maiwasan magalit dahil maski si Ate ay natutuwa pa sa ginawa sa'min ni Dad," sagot ni Ivan.

"Maybe someday we'll be able to understand your father's side Ivan, I want us to be happy just like before." I said.

"Mom, that happiness will never happen again. Hindi ko na kilala si Daddy at Ate, Ma, they're different now." Ivan replied while standing on his beliefs.

Tumahimik na lamang ako at kumain, but I know deep inside me that there's a little hope that they are still the same. Matapos kumain ay agad umalis si Ivan dahil kailangan daw nila magmasid sa kampo, ako naman at hinugasan ang pinagkainan bago umakyat sa kwarto ko.

"Key," bulong ko sa sarili ko habang hawak ang isang susi ng safe.

Tinaas ko naman ang higaan ko at nakita isang safe box, kinuha ko naman ito at binuksan. I saw my empire weapon and alot of Papers inside it.

"Jonito Situada, a well known scientist who's going to marry a simple yet beautiful woman," bulong ko habang binabasa ang isang lumang dyaryo.

Jonito's pov:

After Jannelliza left my office I quickly wrote down some notes for the medicine that I'm working on for her health, all of my experiments is showing a good result but I'm aiming for perfection, I wanna let my daughter live a little bit normal without those medications. While I'm focusing on mixing 2 liquid substance, I sudden heard a knock on my door.

"Come in!" I shouted.

"Seems that you're very busy Dr. Situada." A voice of a man said.

I turned around and saw Dr. Anderson standing in front of my door.

"Dr. Anderson, it's a pleasure to see you here." I said with a smile before I stood up and reach him my hand for a shake hand.

"It's my pleasure too." Dr. Anderson said before shaking my hand.

"Take a sit Dr. Anderson." I said with a smile on my lips.

"Thank you Dr. Situada." He responded before sitting on the visitor's chair.

"Bakit pala kayo nagpunta Dr. Anderson?" tanong ko rito dahil bihira ito lumabas sa lab n'ya at umikot sa empire.

"It's about my upcoming resignation, specially I'm not getting younger." Dr. Anderson said with a smile.

"What do you mean Doc?" I asked with a questioning tone.

"Hindi naman habang buhay mananatiling scientist ako, I wanna aim for something higher than this position." Dr. Anderson said with a serious tone.

"What do you mean Dr. Anderson? I don't get it." I asked confusingly.

"I wanna be the ruler of this empire Dr. Situada, I wanna rule the whole world since I'm the one who started this revolution. Without me, this country will be useless." He directly said while looking in my eyes.

"What do you want to say Dr. Anderson?" I firmly asked.

"I wanna take over this empire Dr. Jonito, and the only way I could do that is by your support since I'll be expecting to be the next in line on my position. I want your support Dr. Situada, we couldn't just let them rule our nation. I wanna make our technology more advance and maybe harness the power of the black hole, we could be a god" Dr. Anderson explained.

"But the president runs our nation smoothly and everyone is satisfied, and we are just mortal being Dr. Anderson and we couldn't be like a God." I responded.

"But I should be the one leading because I made this country so great Dr. Situada." He madly said while his eyes shows anger and rage.

"And you think being able to rule this country make you feel more successful? That kind of mindset could not lead you to a good way Dr. Anderson." I asked and giving my personal opinion.

"Yes, because everything around here is mine, this kind of mentality shows greatness Dr. Situada." He responded.

"But this empire belongs to the people, that's why the president is trying to make peace between the empire and Rebellion." I calmly said.

"So you're refusing my offer Dr. Situada?" Dr. Anderson said.

"Yes Dr. Anderson, because I can't see the purpose of this meeting between us. I'm loyal to our President and our empire, but I couldn't understand your point of view." I honestly said

"Join me or be an enemy of my empire?" Dr. Anderson madly asked.

"Sorry Dr. Anderson but this isn't your empire, don't live in Fantasy because this is reality. The President is concern to his people not just his self." I retorted.

"Then you pick to be my enemy," Dr. Anderson said before adding a threat. "You better be ready Dr. Situada."

"I'm always Ready." I responded.

"Kaya ba ginawa mong halimaw ang mga anak mo Dr. Situada, you made your daughter and your son to be a monster. Hindi ka malinis Dr. Situada dahil alam natin pareho na ginawa mo 'yun upang mapatunayan na may maiaambag ka rito sa empire, you use them as your tool to be on top." Dr. Anderson said with a smirk plastered in his lips.

"I did that experiment to save my daughter and my son's lives, as a father I couldn't just stand there and look at them die when I can do something to save them both." I madly replied.

"But it doesn't change the fact that your alone now with your daughter on top, who knows that your daughter might be against this kind of experiments." He said before leaving me on my office.

After Dr. Anderson left I felt relieved, I don't know if he's up to something bad or good but I know that my daughter will be able to stop him and I know deep inside me that my daughter already forgave me for what I did to them.
