Jane widened her eyes when she heard Melisa's words. "What do you mean, Melisa? Why did she leave?" Jane looked surprised.
Melisa glanced at Roy. She wasn't sure if she should tell Jane. But isn't Sophie in Jane's care? Jane should have known.
"Melisa?" Jane insisted. She already has the wolf, and Melisa is afraid if the wolf Jane appears.
Melisa also tried to explain. "Alright, I'll talk. We were walking around campus and bumped into Sam in the hall. I don't know why Sam and Sophie always didn't get along in the first place..."
"Wait, wait, wait. Sam? What's wrong with Sam and Sophie?" Jane interrupted. She was curious because Sam had always been near Sophie since she arrived in Wolfburg.
"Yeah, Sophie argued with Sam," said Melisa. "Sophie was wondering about this place, but Sam didn't want to talk. Sophie was annoyed. I didn't dare say anything because Sam didn't want to tell Sophie."
Jane was distraught. The girl knew nothing about this place. She can't just go away.
"Where's Sam?" asked Jane.
"On the field. Playing football," said Melisa.
Jane immediately went out of the dining room. Melissa looked at Roy. She was also worried that Sophie wasn't in the building.
"Roy, how is it?" Melisa muttered worriedly.
Roy gave no response other than smiling wryly at Melisa. He seemed to be thinking about something.
"Is she going to the forest? What if she meets a human?" Melisa asked.
"You don't need to worry. She has human blood. Humans won't suspect her. What I'm worried about is not that. It would be better if she met a human. What if she meets a rogue? They won't let Sophie just like that," said Roy.
Melisa suddenly became anxious. She knew that the forest had a border between human and werewolf territory. It's true what Roy said; humans probably wouldn't hurt Sophie. But the rogues could do it to the half-human Sophie.
Jane went to the field in front of the campus area. At that time, Sam was playing soccer with several other students. Jane's arrival at the field surprised the member. So did Sarah, and her gang was busy watching the men play soccer.
"Jane?" Sam was surprised that Jane approached him.
"Where's Sophie?" asked Jane in a shrill voice.
Sarah stood up when she saw Jane angry at Sam. She immediately approached them. But Jane immediately made a protective portal so Sarah could not get close.
"Jane!" cried Sarah.
Jane turned to the girl. The wolf is angry right now. Sam just sighed whenever the girls argued.
"You don't have to interfere, Sarah!" Jane gave a warning.
"Jane, what's wrong?" asked Sam. "Why are you asking me about the Hybrid? Aren't you the foster mother?" Sam joked.
"What are you saying?" Jane was getting angry. "Do you know what you're saying? I don't care if you're a future Alpha. You've messed things up. Sophie is out of Wolfburg! You're putting her in danger!"
"Me?" Sam was surprised by Jane's accusation. "I didn't do anything. Why are you accusing me?"
Jane pushed Sam's body until the man was pushed. The other students watched Jane push Sam away. Sarah wanted to penetrate the portal Jane had created but couldn't. One of the students immediately ran. It seemed he wanted to report this incident to Geralt.
"What did I do wrong, Jane?" Sam tried to get up.
"I warned you not to go near Sophie! You can't get close to her!" Jane shouted.
Sam crossed his arms in front of Jane. He looked at her and smiled sarcastically. "Why would I want to be close to her? She's human. I don't want to be near her. I met her in the hall, and she was so fussy about asking about things you forbid me to tell her!" shouted Sam. "If you're so worried about her, you should tell her the truth that she's in a school full of werewolves. She's in a different place from where she lives!"
Sam glared at Jane. He'd been holding hid back ever since Sophie's arrival in Wolfburg. He didn't understand why Jane insisted on bringing Sophie to this place. Though Sophie would be fine in a human environment.
"If I find her killed by the rogues in the forest, I swear I'll beat you up, Sam. I don't care if you are an Alpha's son!"
Jane stopped the portal she had created. The woman immediately turned around. She transformed herself into a wolf and went into the forest to find Sophie.
Geralt came and didn't see Jane. There was only Sam, who looked confused.
"Where's Jane?" Geralt asked Sam. But Sam didn't answer.
At this moment, Sam's feelings raged. For some reason, he thought about Sophie. He felt that Sophie was in danger in the forest. Especially when Jane warned him about the rogue. They weren't going to leave Sophie alone.
"Jane went to the forest to look for half-blood," Sarah said, walking up to the two men.
"Sophie?" murmured Geralt.
Sam suddenly turned into a wolf. He immediately went to the forest just like that. Sarah was shocked that Sam had followed Jane into the woods.
"Sam!" called Sarah. She was about to use the changeling, but Geralt held her back.
"Geralt!" Sarah raged.
"Let them finish this. Sophie needs to be found. Soon the sun will set. You can't leave campus," said Geralt.
Geralt immediately ordered the students to close the gate. Sarah was furious, but she couldn't refuse Geralt's orders. The man had a significant influence on this university. Even though Sarah is Sam's mate. That meant nothing to Geralt's position at this university.
Sam ran in the middle of the forest. He tried to smell Sophie's scent. Sam knew that smell very well. A human scent that wolves don't have. Unfortunately, Sam couldn't sense Sophie's scent in the woods.
"Where is she going?" Sam thought.
Sam kept running while sharpening his sense of smell. There was no way he couldn't smell Sophie's utterly different scent.
"Ah!" Sam heard a scream. A girl's voice. Quickly, Sam followed the direction of the voice. Sam looked at Sophie. The girl is near the river. But wait. Sophie meets humans. Sam couldn't get close to her.
"Hey, Little Girl. Why are you in this forbidden forest?" asked a man dressed like a hunter.
