5. A DATE WITH MY STEP MOTHER!!

1068 Words
BRANDON’S POV I decided to do this for the sake of my dad. It doesn’t mean that I am totally supporting what he was doing. After I bond with her, I will leave the two of them to move on with their lives. Now that we are bonding tonight, as we prepare dinner and eat that same dinner, I had to cancel the date with Sasha. I will take her out some other time. I hope that she will understand. I walked out of the house grabbing my trench coat from the hooks by the door. The chill in the outside replaced the warmth that I was feeling when I was inside the house. I shivered in response but I was just in time to wear the coat which gave me so much warmth that I needed. I rushed to get to my car before driving to the campus premises. I had texted her to tell me her room number and she did. I was going to talk to her about cancelling the date. The last thing I wanted is to stand her up. I should just do that prior so that she cannot feel unloved or unappreciated. I walked up the stairs and after getting to her door, I blew some breaths before finally knocking on the door. She got it seconds later and she was so excited to see me. She pulled me into a tight hug as if I was lost for too long and after that lengthy while, she finally pulled away. “Sasha, please introduce us to your guy,” Her roommate with some braces on her teeth chided. “Come on, that is not necessary, besides, I want to talk to you Sasha,” I told Sasha what brought me there in the first place. “Brandon, don’t be a d**k. Let me introduce you to my friend and roommate. Rina, this is Brandon, my boyfriend,” She told her and the girl was so happy. “Hi Brandon, I will leave the two of you to talk now, maybe to make out or even s*x,” She giggled as she walked outside. What was the meaning of that? I thought to myself as I walked in to sit at the black chair that was next to the window. “What is it that you couldn’t wait to tell me during our date?” Sasha asked me as she followed me to where I was seated and sat on the empty chair that was next to mine. “It is about the date,” I held her hand before telling her this. Her face was pale all of a sudden. It is as if she knew that I was going to cancel the date. I felt sorry for putting her through all this. Anyway, it had to be done. I will just take her out some other time. It is not a must that I take her to a date right now. “What about the date, do you want to cancel the date that was scheduled for tonight?” She asked as tears formed at the slit ends of her eyes. I felt bad to see her crying. She should just take this in softly. Plans get cancelled once in a while. She should know better than crying. Our eyes were locked together. Other than saying a word, I nodded to confirm her fears to her. Her eyes were now raining with tears. I stood to leave because I could not take it anymore but she couldn’t allow me. She held my hand tightly. “Tell me Brandon, tell me today. Am I not pretty enough?” She asked me with a shaky voice. “Of course you are, you are beautiful Sasha, don’t ever doubt that,” I told her word by word as I cupped her face in my hands. “Then why don’t you go to with me tonight?” She asked me. She tried to bite her lips so that she could not cry but she did cry. “Stop crying, we will reschedule this date tomorrow, tonight, I am held up. It is a family matter but that will get solved tonight,” I explained that to her. “So tomorrow it is?” She asked me and I could feel some hope in her voice. “It definitely is,” I told her arching my lips upwards. She managed to smile despite the state she was in. I pulled her to a tight embrace. She sobbed for a little bit before she was cool. “I will see you tomorrow then,” I told her and she was happy. “Bye Brandon,” She saw me out of the hostels before she waved at me. I drove home slowly thinking if I am doing the right thing. Anyway, I love my dad and even though I don’t support his choices right now, I hoped that I would be wrong in the long end. I hope that Jennifer will be a good woman. I also promised to be more serous with Sasha because she is so in love with me. I could see it in her eyes. Martin was right about her all this time. “I thought you were going to ditch me,” Jennifer told me as soon as I walked into the house. “I would not have ditched you, I am doing this for the sake of my dad,” I told her and she gave me a small smile. “We should start cooking or else, we will be late,” She told me and I followed her to the kitchen. “So what are we cooking? “ I asked her trying to look as interested as possible. “KFC Chicken, vegetable rice and bacon salad,” She explained to me. “Isn’t that too much?” I asked her. “We can as well order pizza and eat that as we bond,” I countered. “It has to be done,” She said in a firm voice as she handed me an apron. I wore the apron and I helped her around in the kitchen. We talked about random things and I realized that she is not a bad woman after all. Maybe I had just prejudged her. Or maybe she is just hiding her true identity, who knows?
