Chapter 18

'I am over him Saurav;', I said looking straight into his eyes, I don't know why I said that I don't know why I went straight to him but my heart reached out for him just to say, 'I am over him Saurav', he looked me with his kind and soothing eyes, his look was giving me chill he wore a beautiful smile on his mouth and caresses my hair with his finger

'I am proud of you Katy, very proud of you', said he, and I smiled back proud of myself.

'Katy, Katy', a sound came from outside she was Leiya, she must have been worried about me, I was gone without telling her. I bit my tongue, 'I guess I am going to get a good scolding', I said looking at him

'She is tough', said he when I went out of his room to confront her

'Where had you been I was worried sick'

'I am sorry, I had something important'

'What were you doing at Saurav's office?'

'I had something to tell him, I already did'

'Like what?'

Seeing her I remembered the day when they went to her husband's cemetery together. I was the same little concerned little jealous geek

'Why do you need that?'

'I want to, it may be because of my hormonal change because I am on my period, I need to know that'

What an excuse I laughed within myself, 'Periods really'

'Why should I lie to you. So tell me why you were there?'

I went silence for a minute, 'It was about its father', I kept my hand on my belly

'Why did you saw him somewhere?', she exclaimed

'Yes'

'Where, why didn't you told me about that? who is he just tell me his name I would rip his heart apart'

'I bet you won't be doing that after you heard the name'

'Just tell me'

'Not now, let's go to work for now'

'but you have to tell me soon', she said and we went toward the working zone together.

The next day I was having a routine checkup with the doctor who came to check up on workers,

'You still lack necessary nutrients, this way your child cannot grow properly in your womb. Just pay attention to your food other is fine', said he when Saurav and Leiya were looking at me as if I had done something huge mistake

'See how many times I have to tell you to take care of the baby, eat whatever is offered, but no you just eat what you find delicious. How many times I have to tell you to eat whatever you get this is your job area not home Katy', Leiya shouted as soon as the doctor went away

'How is it my mistake, that chef only makes the vegetables that I loathe the most'

'What are you saying?', Saurav adds from back

'That big lady in the kitchen, she always makes brinjal and cabbage I hate that vegetable. And whenever she makes vegetable I adore I get the very little amount of it'

'How can they? Okay tonight you will be having dinner with me, I will see how they aren't going to give you enough food as you want'

'Really, you are a manager how can you eat with workers'

'What is a big deal about it?'

'I can't believe the more I know you the greater you seem to be'

'He is our Saurav common', said Leiya spreading her smile.

The sun went down and the night came indoor, Saurav fulfilling his promise comes with me on dinner time. Everyone in the dining section was looking at us. I know they were jealous but I can't do anything it’s a good thing that I was getting his attention due to the child growing inside me. When I sat on the chair with him, it felt like we were on a date and I was looking at him smiling with his every roll of eyes.

'What? Why are you looking at me', he asked

'I am just thankful for everything'

'Don't be, I will be doing things in your favor until the child inside you is safe and sound' meanwhile the servers serve food at our table, the amount was more than usual as I was with Saurav but still, he makes her pour the mutton soup on the bowl until I told her to stop. I got four-folds more than I usually used to get. It was so happening. I was excited and hungry

'thank you so much, Saurav',

'Wait', he whispered when I was about to reach spoon to my mouth

'What'

'Shreyan', he said

'What are you saying?'

'Shreyan is behind you, looking at you continuously'

'Why would he be here, on this hour'

'Maybe to see you. He is not looking happy'

'Why?'

'How could I know, just don't turn back'

'Why should I be afraid of him?'

'He is coming'

'What?'

'He is coming toward us, he is here, he is here and he '

'I thought the manager's dinner time was with us before them', Shreyan was in front of us

'I was giving her the company'

'okay', he nodes his head, everyone in the dining section was looking at him, it was a miracle for them that he was there. Leiya's face was worth watching, her face was saying, 'I envy you Katy'

'What are you doing here? you never liked to come here', asked Saurav

'Yeeah', he stammers, 'I was hungry'

'Hungry, you just ate half an hour ago in your section'

'I guess, I ate half stomach today, so I was here', he looked at me

'You are eating with us, is it a miracle?'

'don’t talk much just eat, I am here to eat and let me do that' Seeing him there the head chef brought special items on a big brass plate and kept it on the table next to us. He sits there quietly and pretends to eat, I was totally unaware of what he was doing? he was not even eating at all, he was just stirring up his rice.

I couldn't eat my full with him staring at me, it was uncomfortable, 'I am full', I stood up with half of the rice still on my plate

'I am full too', said Saurav maybe he had understood that I was upset. He bows in the direction of Shreyan, 'Permit me to go now, young master', said he, and we went outside the section. He was laughing continuously when we were walking out

'What's the matter?', I asked

'Didn't you see it?',

'What?'

Shreyan who never ever used to look at any slaves with a straight eye came to the servent's dining section and even had food there. Don't you think that fishy'

'Didn't he used to come by before?', I asked surprised

'Never, can't you see Katy, he is jealous. I saw the burning temptation to punch me because you were smiling with me'

'Why would he even be jealous, he didn't even love me'

'I don’t know if he do or not, but it's sure you mean something to him'

'I don't think..'

'It doesn't matter what you think cause I know what we should do exactly'

'What?', I wasn't happy with the way that conversation was leading us to

'We will act like a couple around him.'

'Wait, what?'

'Don't worry, it will just be an act to trigger the feeling he has inside him for you'

'But I am over him Saurav'

'You think so, but it isn't over, if you had no feelings for Shreyan then why it bothered you that he was next to you while eating.'

'I don’t know, maybe because I hated him'

'that means although it's hate you still have feelings for him Katy and the baby growing inside you needs his father, trust me once Shreyan realizes how much he liked you, he will cancel the wedding and be with you', Really, my baby really needed a father, a father which suggested to kill it. The worst part was Saurav was suggesting it. I had no choice other than nod my head in yes.

'You were so lucky, you get to look Shreyan from so close today', Leiya burst out as soon as she enters the room in the servent's section.

'Really, I didn't find that intimidating'

'Don't say these thing with other, they will kill you for saying that', Why was everyone so intimidated by him, 'But I wonder why he was there when he didn't have to eat food'

'What?', I exclaimed

'After you two went ahead, he swept the plate down the table and walked away', Was Saurav right that Shreyan was jealous of me being with him, but why that fact wasn't making me happy, why I was in denial, was it the proof that I was really over him, Saurav wasn't going to believe that, he was persistent on tying the broken string between me and him. After all that, he just took me as one of the girls whom he takes responsibility to save, it was hurting me. Can a woman heart change that much, I read somewhere, love is the thing that only happens once in a lifetime. In that way either my love was fake for Shreyan or just it was rebound feeling for Saurav.

The next day when I went for my regular work, I was given a cheat by the head servant, it was from the Senior Manager, a manager under whom Saurav used to work. It was a direct notice from him to me, to work as Young master's servers.

I knew it must had been the idea of Shreyan when others saw the cheat they were lifting me up from my leg and dancing with me on their shoulder

'I so envy you, Katy. How could you get this opportunity when we are here for so long', some were jealous too. From all Leiya was the one who was happiest for me. The only one who was pitying me there was myself. why my life was playing so hard with me? It was an order from a higher level I couldn't deny but pretending not to know Shreyan and treat him as a young master was going to be hell for me.

My work started, when I went inside his room, all the girls from my section were looking at me giving me thumbs up when I was feeling like a goat who was going to be meat soon. Fortunately, the room was empty but it was a holy hell it was a whole mess looking like a big sky. He must have done that intentionally to give me hard time. All of his clothes were on the floor and wardrobes were empty, glass, beer bottles, cookies packets all were spread on the floor and due to spilled beer, the whole room was stinking. For a while I wanted to run from there, very far but where? There was no alternative than cleaning that mess for which I was recruited as a server. It took me nearly 2 hours to clear that, and when due to exhaustion I left the grasp of my body and fell on the sofa for some relief the very second I thought of that Shreyan appeared, he was in his washroom, all the time. He wasn't going to let me rest he was naked all over except that towel which protected his shame. I stood and tried to get out of that room when he drops a glass from his hand breaking it and spreading the pieces all over the floor.

'Oops, it just slipped from my hand' how pathetic of him, I took a broomstick and a pan in my hands and sweep the glasses but one gets stuck in my legs and blood began coming out from it. I didn't even make a sound, I just cleared the floor as if nothing happened and he also didn't notice it.

'Young master, I heard that', came Saurav from the door when he saw me and stops what he was talking about. I looked at him with pain in my eyes, and the wound in my leg was so deep that it was hard for me to stand

'Why is blood coming out from your leg', he ran for me that is when Shreyan realized I was wounded, his eyes went wide and he stood from the bed. I knew Shreyan was afraid of blood he was trying hard to come toward me but was taking a step back for his every move. Saurav kneeled down on his knee and lifted my leg to see the wound.

'It seems, to be deep, how can you say nothing and bear the pain. It can affect the child growing in your womb. Why do you always attack problems', he grabs the glass which was penetrating my skin and pulls it out in a single stroke. It was very painful I moaned out of pain

'What are you doing, we should probably take her to the doctor', Shreyan opens his mouth still trying to avoid the blood.

'I am sorry, Young master for all this. I will take care of her', he says and lifts me up on his arm taking me out of the room. Shreyan eyes were on me the whole time,  there was a burst of jealousy and pain in there I could see it, because there was a time when I used to understand him just by looking at his eyes.
