Chapter 11

I descended the hotel stairs quickly , still in awe of the luxurious feel of the hotel on the inside. Behind me I could hear Lyonel and Ryan following me but I chose to ignore them as I stepped out into the empty lobby. Off to one side was a open door and I could hear my brothers voices drifting out. I entered what looked like a small meeting room with a large table in the middle set up with a breakfast spread. Around the table my brothers and my remaining guards chatted but fell silent as I entered. I ignored the eyes on me as I headed over to where the coffee pot was, taking my time making my coffee just right. After I made my coffee I sat in the empty seat across from my brothers as I took a sip of the coffee closing my eyes I felt it warm my stomach. "Took you long enough." Aries Snarky voice broke the silence and I could only roll my eyes. "Is there a problem Aries?" I ask as Ryan sets a plate of food in front of me filled up with fruit and yogurt, my usual breakfast selection. I give him a small smile of thanks before I returned my gaze to my older brother. "No problem. If I could have spent the whole morning f*****g I would have been late too." He smirked and several others at the table snickered as I shook my head. "Where are we at?" I ask as I look around the table. "Are you sure you care? You didn't care a hour ago." Lyonel growled beside me. The room fell silent again except the growls coming from my brothers for Lyonels blatant disrespect. "Do we have a problem Captain Lyonel? Was the one hour I took for my own well being going to make such a big difference in the grand scheme of things?" I keep my voice soft and even but I let my Luna power out stifling the room with its power. I turned to Lyonel noting everyone including my brothers were baring their necks to me except for Lyonel. He was glaring at me, his eyes flickering from blue to gold as his wolf came to the surface. I narrowed my eyes as something pushed against my Luna powers. As soon as I felt it it was gone and suddenly Lyonel was offering his neck. "Sorry. I am stressed out from all this and took it out on you." He mumbled as he looked down at his uneaten breakfast. "We are all stressed." I say gently as I lay my hand on his arm. " You are just lucky I don't have my powers or your disrespectful attitude would have caused you a lot of pain." I was only half joking when I said that. My mother had beaten into me (Literally) that male shifters would try to dominate me if they felt any sort of weakness. While I blew off most of my mothers teachings once I realized she was extremely evil and paranoid I took this one to heart having seen members of my own pack challenge my mother any time she was injured from battle. Lyonel glanced at me nodding his head in understanding and I retracted my Luna powers. Several of guards sighed with relief. "Now that the power display is done can I just let everyone know we are royally fucked." Atla's voice seemed to fill every part of the room as all eyes turned to him. Anxiety filled me as I turned my attention to Atlas. He was the most calm and rational of my brothers and for him to say we were f****d, we must be really f****d. "Why?" I ask as I push my coffee away my stomach clinching. "I called the council to lodge a complaint against the Blue Moon Pack." He paused as he clasped his hands and brought his chin down to the top of them. "They told me they heard about the attack and have already investigated it. Said it was a rogue attack and the reason we are blaming the Blue Moon Pack is because we are trying to back out of a signed contract of marriage between you and the Alphas son." The room fell into silence as his words sank in. "Mother Fuckers!" Aries yells breaking the silence and causing all of us to jump. "Yeah, I would say that about sums it up" Joe growls as he sits back a contemplative look on his face. I sigh as the full situation settles on me. The fact that the Elder council was backing the Blue Moon pack could only mean one thing. The council was now corrupt. The Elder council was formed to be a mutuel party to guide packs and to punish those who didn't follow the laws. "Who did you talk to?" I ask as I fiddle with coffee mug. "Elder Johnson." Atlas answered. I crunch my nose as I sort through all the facts that I knew about the Elder council. My mother may have thought I was worthless but she made for damn sure I was educated in all things about pack life including the Elder council. She drilled the laws and the members of the elder council into my head. "Elder Johnson is the newest member, his ceremony was 10 years ago." I pause as I try to remember all I learned about him. Chewing on my lip I sucked in hard when the info I needed came to the front of my mind. "Elder Johnson is a past Alpha of the Blue Moon pack." I say quietly sitting back looking across the table at my brothers. "Do you think he is changing the info going in to the council to shed a better light on the Blue Moon pack?" Atlas asked his brow furrowed. "It could be that or the whole council is corrupt. Either way we can't trust going to them." Joe answers as he stares at me. My mind raced as i tried to come up with a plan, a direction, hell I would even like to know what I was going to do once I left this room. I looked around the room at my brothers and remaining guards. Everyone's eyes were on me. My hands shook as I hid them under the table. We needed to come up with a plan because our enemies were several steps ahead of us. "Have we contacted our alliances?" I ask as I look over to Atlas. Atlas nods as he looks back down at the paper in front of him. "I have been in contact with the Full Moon and Silver Claw packs. They sympathize with our plight but are unable to help at this time." he growls out. I snort as I lean back in my chair, I couldn't even count the amount of time those two packs called us for help with their petty squabbles but now when we need help the most they can't be bothered to help. "What about the Blood moon pack." I ask as I feel Lyonell stiffen up beside me. "We are waiting for a call back." Lyonell abruptly stands up and I could feel the rage pouring off him but I could also feel pain and fear. "I will personally call the Blood Moon pack. I have family there." Lyonel bit out before hurrying out of the room leaving us in stunned silence. I looked over at Ryan who shrugged , his face just as confused as mine. "Well isn't this just cozy." A snide voice from the doorway said and we all swiveled to look at the intruder. Leaning against the door was Raymond Taylor, the Beta of the Blue Moon pack.
