7 pm Exclusive Men's Club - Friday
Khalan & Aliyah's sixth day together, Aliyah was being held up at a site inspection of one of her projects out of town. She'd be home before midnight she advised him. Khalan decided to join his friends for a night out in one of the city's exclusive clubs with nothing to do. Khalan and his friends were founding members and investors of the club.
Tyron, Vince, Henry, and Dayton were his friends for a long time, all of them Phil-UK. The staff of the exclusive club referred to them as the macho group. All of them are attractive. With the exception of Henry and Dayton, the rest are still single. His friends were engaged in a light conversation and bickering when Khalan arrived.
"Hey, brother! Good to see you!" Tyron exclaimed a military man.
Khalan slouched in a sofa after he acknowledged everyone.
"We heard you are busy dating your hot architect. Is it true?" Vince a doctor inquired.
Khalan looked at Dayton annoyedly; he knew he had been the one to spill the beans. Even if it was the truth. Dayton chuckled in response.
"Yeah! You're right, we're back together!" he forced himself to respond.
"Is she the same one you dated before?" Henry was surprised, Khalan's lawyer, the one he met on the night he saw Aliyah drinking with her friends.
"None other." Khalan briefly affirmed.
"Oh, boy! It must be serious, is a wedding in order?" Vince questioned.
Khalan shrugged his shoulders, "If she can forgive me, I'm still working on it."
"That might be tough, so she finally reappeared? You've been trying to locate her for years, right?" Tyron asked.
"Yes, she came back a year ago; I was in the UK at that time. She was abroad for a long time," They hadn't found her because they had only checked locally.
"Why do you look exhausted, busy banging her?" Dayton, a businessman joked.
Men's laughs were all over the private room. They were used to private jokes like this. Everyone gets their turn to being roasted, and it was Khalan's turn. They wouldn’t miss the chance to put him on the spot.
"s**t! I f****d up, man. It will be hard for Aliyah to forgive me. She returned accomplished, distant, and cold. I'm busy finding ways to make peace." Khalan confessed after having a double scotch shot.
"That's the problem with career women. They don't need us, bro!" Vince muttered. They all laugh again.
"Where is she?" Henry asked.
"Caught in out-of-town engagement. She'll be home late," Khalan said while drinking another glass of scotch.
"So you are together? That's a good start," Tyron cajoled.
"Nope! I just trapped her into agreeing to this arrangement." Khalan confessed.
"Ooooh! I can sense the impending down-fall of the mighty Khalan," Vince jested, completely amazed by the situation.
"Be ready guys for a wedding real soon!" Dayton howled excitedly.
"Damn you! Tell me what to do." Khalan hissed irritatedly.
"Propose, bro!" they yelled together.
"She won't accept it! She'll tell me to f**k-off after a month if nothing has changed." Khalan knocked back another double shot
"Dead shoot, man! You're in big trouble, and you might need more than a month," Henry conceded, laughing.
"The lady sure is something," Vince said, interestingly, a lady who managed to make Khalan act abnormally was a triumph.
"Well, she is; I was just an i***t and blew my first chance six years ago, right?" Khalan defeatedly muttered.
"Why not get her pregnant, bro?" suggested Tyron.
"Can't do that unless we are sure." Khalan shook his head repeatedly.
"How's your estate, is it fixed?" Dayton asked.
"Yes, last year!" Khalan concurred.
"You managed to get out of your sham engagement; I guess you'll be alright," Henry uttered.
They all know that Khalan's engagement got canceled four years ago because Khalan finally found the courage to go against the wishes of his late grandfather. He gave up his inheritance and walking away, leaving every single penny of his huge inheritance in exchange for his freedom.
"You are making so much money here. You don't need the inheritance anyway," Dayton assured.
"But it's still his birthright Bro, he deserves it," Henry argued. Being a lawyer, he’s particular about rights.
"Look, guys, Khalan willingly to gave it all up. Anyway, he's out of that trash now. It's his love life we need to help him with." Vince remarked.
"Did you tell that to your girl? Perhaps she will understand if she knows what happened." Tyron suggested.
"I told her everything six years ago regarding the engagement, but she doesn't know yet that I ended it two years after I left her. Right now, it doesn't matter. As a matter of fact, she doesn't seem to hate me because I gave her up. But, I'm worried about something else." Khalan muttered. His expression was far from relaxed.
"Go on? What do you think it is?" Dayton raised his eyebrow interestedly.
"She might not love me anymore, she also become icy cold. I've been racking my brains on how to please her and break this shield she's created around herself," Khalan paused, " You know the feeling that she just accepts my intimacy, then nothing comes after? I can't gain access to her innermost self, I can't reach her heart," he furrowed his brows.
"F*ck! That was hell” they almost said it together.
At the end of the night, no one could give Khalan a piece of good advice.
When he arrived home, Aliyah was already there. She was in the room looking at her emails while in bed. He thought of pretending to be drunk and to know if she would take care of him. Such a childish idea, but he wanted to know if it would work.
He walked into the room, swaying. When Aliyah looked at him, he swung more.
"Hi, Honey," he slurred in a drunk tone.
"Where have you been?" She asked without leaving the bed—her expression... a little irritated.
He kissed her, but she looked at him, disgustedly. He swayed by the bed and seemed to lose his balance, and fell asleep. "Damn it now, I can't make love with her by doing this," he told himself.
Khalan consoled himself with the thought that Aliyah would take care of him. She cleared part of the bed off so he could comfortably lay in bed. Aliyah took away his loose tie, undid his shirt's buttons, and took the shirt off his body. Aliyah almost caught him sniggering when she unzipped his trousers before she took them off. His manhood got excited when her finger accidentally touched his instrument when she unzipped the zipper.
"Shameless!" she just murmured. Khalan heard her.
"Khalan, can you still get your bath?" She sounded irritated, but she got a wet towel to wipe his face and body. It somehow lessened the smell of alcohol in the room.
"Why did you drink too much?" she prompted while she toweled him, and she noticed his dark chocolate brown eyes were slightly open watching her movements.
"Because you don't want me," he murmured.
She did not comment.
Aliyah took a fresh t-shirt for him tucking him into bed. Khalan could feel she was looking at him avidly, before she lay down by his side, her back on him.
"She did not even hug me?” he thought himself. He turned and cuddled her instead, but Aliyah did not move a bit.
She had long been sleeping, but Khalan stayed awake.
"How can I make you care for me like before, Aliyah? What had to happen to the sweet lady who used to love me?"
He carefully stepped down from the bed and took his shower. He wouldn't bother her anymore with the stink of liquor from his body.
Aliyah was awakened by his movement when he returned to bed.
"Are you feeling alright?" she murmured sleepily.
"Yup! I took my shower," he whispered, not wanting her to lose sleep.
"Okay," she went back to sleep.
Khalan cuddled her to sleep, aware that his trick did not work this time, he promised himself not to use such a trick again.
His world revolves around finding ways to get Aliyah to realize his value in her life once again. He couldn't stop now, even if daily he had been seeing very little progress. Aliyah remained cold and impenetrable. He has less than 30 days to break her indifference; otherwise, he will be kicked out of her life for good...but he was determined...he couldn't stop...he had to win her back!
