"Ooh yeah! That was totally fun!" Piper exclaimed after they just got off the roller coaster ride. The last ride they got into for tonight.
Skye just shook her head while smiling widely at her friend's liveliness. The girl was right, it's fun, she enjoyed it much too. She even mentally tap herself for making the right decision to tag along with Piper. She is a breath of fresh air and a ball of sunshine, she was able to rest for awhile for being an adult. Free of stress from her problem back at the city and from the heartbreak that she, surprisingly, no longer hurt every time she thinks of her ex. She smiled at herself, maybe she was totally moved on.
"Can we eat now? I'm starving." Skye said with a smile still flastered on her face. And Piper turned to face her.
"Definitely." She chuckled. " What do you want? I'll buy for us." She added and took some money on her pockets.
"Nah, I, will buy for us. You already treat me on our rides." Skye replied and she was about to took some money but Piper stop her hand
"Come on, I don't mind it." She said , laughing a little. "Don't worry, I always save money for every Nat Fest so I can spoil myself. So let me." She insisted with a cute smile and Skye can't say no to that.
"Are you sure? You know I'm really hungry, I can eat a whole cow." She replied, playfully turning her eyes in slits. And the younger one just laugh at her.
"Of course. What do you want?"
Skye didn't even think twice about what she was going to eat. "I want Corndogs, churros, cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate milkshake." She stated.
"Ohh, that's a lot." Piper commented with a side smile.
"Have you change your mind?" Skye asked her with a teasing smile as she put both of her hands on her jacket's pockets.
"Ah, you wish! Just sit there and wait for me okay? I'll get those for you."
Skye nodded at Piper and the latter immediately left and went to the food stalls. She went to the empty bench that her friend pointed at and sat there and wait. She busied herself by watching some kids that were playing basketball on the game booth. There are four of them and they seem to be the same age. The boy with a stripped hooded sweatshirt was next in line. He was the smallest on the group and the height of the basketball ring was almost a triple of his height. He took the ball on the booth attendant and tried to focus ahead. His first try was failed, it didn't even reach the ring. But even so, his friends didn't laugh at him, they encourage him instead.
He took the second ball with a little confidence in him and focus again. He shoot the ball higher than his first try. But Skye never saw if the ball went in because her attention was caught when her phone rang.
She immediately pull it out from the side pocket of her jacket and check the caller Id. She frowned when an unknown number appeared on the screen. Although skeptical, she still answered it after she cleared her throat.
"Hello?"
"Hi , did you miss me?" A deep voice greeted her.
Skye frowned. The voice seemed familiar to her. If shes not mistaken, he had the same voice with the man she encountered from Roland's birthday party at the Pattersons. He clearly remembered his name. Jackson.
"Who is this?" She asked, making sure if it's really him.
"Oooh you forget me right away?" The man from the other line chuckled at her. "That's unfair. Cause I never forget about you, Skye."
A shiver instantly ran down her spine when he mentioned her name.. It's him. Jackson. No doubt.
"I'm sorry, but I don't know you." Skye's cold reply. She was about to end the call but Jackson suddenly speaks. Stopping her to do it.
"Oh come on. I know that you know who I am as soon as you heard my voice."He said, smirking. "Bet you're not just pretty, you're smart too." He added with a hint of sultriness on his voice. Skye grimaced, she finds it disgusting.
"Where did you get my number?" Skye asked instead. Annoyance was obvious on her voice as well as on her face. She wish the man on the other line can pick up the hint.
This is not actually the first time a guy got her number, so she's not surprised. But she still wonder, to whom did he get it from? The people who had her number were Maddison, Levi , Vanessa and Piper. Surely none of them will give it to him.
"I'm sorry sweety but I won't tell, it's a secret." She heard him say.
Skye rolled her eyes. One thing she doesn't like whenever a guy flirt with her, is when they used terms of endearment that she doesn't find endearing at all.
"Okay." That just what she said and ended the call abruptly. She didn't want to talk to him any longer. For what? She's not even interested. No matter how good looking he is, he's not a woman. And secondly, she doesn't like his smugness.
Skye was about to put her phone back to her pocket when a message came. She check the number first and her annoyance grew when it came from the last one who called. She closed her eyes with a huffed for a moment before she read it.
-It's okay if you don't want to talk to me. I just wanted to tell you that I have something that belongs to you. I don't know if this is important but it has the word Kayee written on it.-
"What the f**k?" Skye muttered as she stood up in an instant. She check all of her pockets and find her keys. She knew right away that is what he was talking about. The little keychain that attached to her motorbike key had that word on it. Maddison customized that keychain and gave it to her.
"Shit." she cursed when she couldn't find it. She doesn't have an idea how did it get to him. But there's only one way to find out. He called him and he answered right away, as if he was waiting for her call.
"Why the hell do you have my keys?" she immediately asked. The tone of her voice rose and she doesn't care about it. She wanted to shout at him, honestly.
"You dropped it and I just took it." he simply replied with a half shrugged.
"Are you following us?" Skye asked, incredulously.
"No, I'm following you." he replied to her on a deeper voice. A chill run down to her body. She was right , someone was really watching and following her.
"Give me back my keys." she said, not wanting to hear anything about him.
"Calm down, princess. I'll give it back." he replied, smirking. Skye grimaced to the endearment. It's getting worse. "Just come and see me here first."he added.
"I don't have time for your nonsense. Just give me back my keys." she said, trying to calm herself down. She just had fun, she won't let him to ruin her night.
"I will. But how can i give it to you if you refuse to see me?" Jackson added with a little confidence on his voice. Skye can picture out the smug on his face. And she doesn't like it.
"I'm sitting on a bench near the food stalls." she replied as she look around trying to find the guy. Although she can heard the background sound on his line, she can't tell where he is.
"I know. But I wanted you to come see me to where I am now. " she heard him say. She was about to insist what she wants when he added.
"But if you don't want to come, it's okay, I can just leave it here in the ground. Goodluck in finding it."
Skye stood still. She can let that happen. All of her keys were attach to it. The key to her motorbike, the spare key to Maddison's house, and the spare key to Dom's apartment. She mentally slap herself for bringing her keys eventhough she doesn't need it tonight. She guess she had no choice.
"Where are you?"
