A younger face of her father in the morning breeze appeared in her thoughts. It was like a dream. They were sitting on the side of the field just under the big oak tree. He was looking at her with a charming smile like a loving father to his daughter. They are talking about the cute little bunny she saw on the pet shop. Then seconds after, her mother came with some pancakes and fruits on a tray in her hands. She placed it down on the blanket that they have put on the ground earlier. After that ,she kissed Violet on the forehead before her husband a quick kiss on the lips. Her mother got up to go back inside the house but her father pulled her hands down which made her stumbled. That action brought laughter to them.
This is one of Violet's happy memories with her parents when she was younger. No pain, no problems, and no chaos. Just pure happiness.
In a blurry vision, memories came one after another. It's like she's reliving all of it before the end. Her end, she thought. Just one day, alot happened. And lots of pain she had felt. Pain that she thought she will never feel because of the good life her parents have given to her. But she was wrong. And as her eyes slowly closing, the pain still never left her.
"Goodbye." That was the last word that she heard before lost consciousness.
-----------------------------------------------------------
A few minutes ago:
A loud and deafening sound pierce through Violet's ears. She shut her eyes closed and cover her ears with both of her hands as she laid on the ground in a fetal position.
Werewolves had sensitive hearing. They can hear you even if you're a 100 meters away. It's one of they're advantage. But not in this time because the gun shots nearly on her head. It's like making her ears bleed and her head feels like it vibrates. The noises on her surrounding muted for a moment but she can sense that there's something happening.
When the pain subsided, she opened her eyes. She turned and sat up. That's when she saw a werewolf that was bigger than her. Growling on the already lifeless body of the man. It's the reason why the shot was missed. She was saved.
Violet stared at the body Infront of it. It has so many wounds. On his arms, legs and chest. The bigger one was on his neck down to his shoulder just right on his old scar. His weapons were thrown away and his jacket and pants were torn and stained with blood. It was gruesome, but he deserves it.
The werewolf stopped growling and huffed when it sures that the man was dead. It's fur were a dark brown, nearly black. Although some of their fur colors were similar to others, she can still distinguished her father.
"Dad?"
Henry turned when he heard her daughter's voice. He looked tired and his snout was smeared of blood. But despite of that, he was still ready to fight. An Alpha indeed.
He came towards his daughter. When he is near, Violet embrace him tightly. Clutching both of her arms to his huge neck and cried. She was thankful that they were both fine.
'Are you okay my little bunny?' Henry said using the link.
Violet released from the hug and look at his father. "I'm fine. I was shot but I'm fine. What about you?" She said. She stopped crying now but few tears were still falling on her eyes.
'I'm okay. Nothing to worry about.'
"How about the others? Where are they?" Violet asked and look around. Looking for the other members of the pack.
'It's over, Violet. The Venators retreated. We have killed most of them. We had to.' Her father said somewhat displeased. Their enemies were still humans, killing them were somehow inappropriate to their pack. Mostly to her father. 'And about the others, some of them were wounded....and few of them died. The poison on the shots killed them, there's nothing we can do.' he added. He looked sorrowful and Violet wouldn't blame him. An Alpha took responsibility to the whole pack. Even it's not his pack, he still felt involved.
Henry turned and took a glance to the body. He then look back to Violet. 'Im sorry. You shouldn't have seen that.' he said pertaining to the deed he have done and Violet witnessing it all.
Violet stared at the body a little longer before she talked back. "It's okay. You did what you had to do, Dad. You saved me."
'Come here now. We need to go back to the camp.' Henry said before he hunker down. He needs to carry Violet on his back because she was still weak to walk and to change to her wolf form.
Violet gather her strength and tried to stood up and carefully hop on his father's back. She laid forward and hold onto his neck.
When she was secured on the back of his father's wolf form, Henry stood up. But before his huge paws can take a step forward, they heard a creaking sound like a branches that was step on.They both got alarmed and it causes Violet to sat up from his father' s back.
They both focused on the sound. It is heading towards them but they can't see what it was or who it was because of the large amount of bushes to where it was.
"What is it?" Violet suddenly said and carefully got down to his father's back but never leaving his side. Her legs were still a little weak but she still stood on her feet. Ready to fight to whoever or whatever it was. Trying to gain back her strength as fast as she can so she can change to her wolf form.
But as the creaking sound was near and finally a slim figured appeared on the bushes, all the strength Violet gathered were all gone in an instant. Because the person in front of her was the friend she cherished and yet betrayed her.
"Vittoria."
