Violet hand stop mid tracks. Her heart beats quicken and even how cheesy it sound, she thought her world turns into slowmo. Her inner wolf is delighted to see her mate again. Damn. How can she resist her? That what she thought.
"What is it?" Violet's dazed stop when Abby suddenly asked . Her bestfriend is looking at her curiously, coffee still in her hand.
Violet just look at her mate again who was walking at the sidewalk with her hands inside the pockets of her black hoodies.
"Nothing." She said, her voice was hoarse. Abby look at her suspiciously because of it. Violet can sense the look of her Bestfriend so she cleared her throat before talking again."We need to go."
Violet started the car's engine and got out on the parking area. She drive as fast as she could, but carefully as well, ignoring the look her bestfriend is giving her.
But unfortunately for her again, as they reach at the intersection, the traffic light turns to red. So even she doesn't want to, she immediately step on the breaks.
She look at the rearview mirror rather unintentionally and saw her mate approaching towards the intersection too.
The agitation slowly rising up on her. She looks back and forth from the road and to the rearview mirror as she tap her fingers on the steering wheel and sighed.
Without her noticing it, Abby was intently looking at her. Silently questioning her every move. She can hear her the rapid beating of her heart and she noticed that Violet was looking at the rearview mirror so she tried to look at it too to see what it was.
But there's nothing but just an old blue truck at the back. So she look back at Violet again and caught her looking something at the sidewalk and quickly turn her gaze on the road.
Abby turned around and look at the sidewalk to see what it was. Aside from two teenagers who's walking towards the opposite direction there's only a woman and her toddler standing outside the toy shop. Nothing unusual that would caught Violet's attention.
"What is it, Vee?" she asked, scowling, as she started to get irritated by the silence of her Bestfriend as well as her tapping.
"I said nothing." Violet said in a firm voice as she glared at Abby.
But as she did, she saw her mate that was already standing at the stop waiting for the GO sign. She was just a couple of meters away from them.
Abby, who was looking at her curiously, followed her line of sight. That's when she saw a girl with an auburn hair, nearly identical to hers. Wearing a black hoodies and dark blue pants and a low cut black converse. She find her pretty and cute actually.
The more intense tapping of Violet caught her attention again as she turned to face her with a creased on her forehead.
She noticed that there was some sweats forming on her forehead despite the car was air-conditioned. She can sense heat radiating from her too. And it just grew her more curious as to why her companion was acting that way.
She clearly knew that Violet was anxious but not because she's terrified, it was something else. Abby knew it for sure. Since her Bestfriend became an Alpha, she rarely gets afraid of anything. She's unbothered.
Abby look at the girl again. She is human and a few years younger than them. She's obviously not a threat, that what she thought. And even if she was a threat, their Alpha wouldn't run away from her unless.
"Oh my gosh! " Abby suddenly exclaimed as a realization came to her mind. Her Bestfriend act like this because something is bothering her. And the only thing that bothers her these days was no other than her mate.
She quickly turn to Violet and asked. "Is that her ?"
"What?" Violet still asked even knowing too well what Abby was talking about.
"That's her, isn't it? Your mate!" Abby asked as she look at the girl again. Seemingly glad to know and see their supposedly Luna.
Violet didn't say anything and just readied the engine as the traffic light was about to turn green. Even without her confirming it, she knew her silence means yes to Abby. And the latter face her again.
"Oh gosh. She's gorgeous, Vee." she suddenly said with a wide smile on her face. "You really had a taste." she added and laughing.
Violet ignored her and just start the car and drove ahead.
"Wait. There's someone following her." Abby said as they passed the intersection and her protective mode stopping her from her tracks and immediately stop the car at the side of the road.
Violet then turned around and saw her mate just crossed from the road and walk towards. And there's indeed someone that's following her. Keeping its distance from her for a couple of meters. Looking at her in way that Violet hated. And it made her growled.
"That guy. I knew him." Abby said, seriousness laced on her voice. "His name is Hudson. His from another pack. " she added and it made boiled Violet's blood knowing that he's one of their kind.
"He's a dropped out from highschool. For harassing a student." Abby continued. Even she started to growled but faintly. "And not just one."
Just as her mate passed by their car and followed by the guy, Hudson, she clearly saw the way he looked at her behind. And Violet became possessive.
"I don't feel good about that guy, Vee." Abby commented. She's worried about the girl's safety. If that guy would harassed her she can't possibly defend herself just by her human strength. Unless if she had a gun.
When the girl turned to walk to the alley way Abby became more worried. "I think-"
Her sentence was cut short when Violet suddenly got out from the car. She just look at her as she walk fast to where her mate went.
The worries on Abby's face vanished and replaced with pride. Knowing too well that things will be handled well enough when their Alpha deals with it. She grinned and leaned back on the passenger seat while crossing her arms.
"That's my girl. Go get your Luna."
