Chapter 18.3: Butterflies in the stomach

"Seamus! What the hell?" Piper suddenly exclaimed afterwards. "She needs to choose a category first. Don't break the rule." she added and ate the last spoon of pasta on her plate.

The boy laughed humorlessly and scratch the back of his head and said. "Yeah, you're right. My bad." Avoiding the look the twins was giving him, especially Vanessa.

He was so careful in thinking for a safe dare that he forgot about the rule. It just blurted out on his mouth actually, thinking that perhaps it was the safest.

Seamus was somehow confident on it though. Since Skye already told them that she's gay, he knew she won't choose to kiss the opposite gender. And to think of it rationally, Vanessa would likely be her target.

"It's okay." Skye broke the awkward silence she hadn't have an idea of, and laugh a little. " I can do that." she added.

"No, Skye." Vanessa said suddenly but in a calm tone. "You don't really need -"

"It's okay Vanessa, really. I got this, don't worry." Skye said cutting off her sentence as she grab and hold the hand of Vanessa.

The latter quickly looked at their intertwined hands but she didn't dare to take it away.

"Hey Skye." the auburn haired girl turned her gaze at Seamus when he called her. Unclasping her hand on Vanessa. "You know you don't need to kiss them on the lips, okay? Just on the cheeks will be enough. And on the forehead will count too. Or just anywhere you prefer. " he added as he smile at her awkwardly.

Skye forehead form a crease and said.

"But that wouldn't be fun though." laughing a little as she look towards each of them..

Yes, it wouldn't be fun for her since her friends from the city always had the most daring dare that somehow she did most of them successfully. Sometimes they were a little too much but still bearable but then most of the time they were embarrassing. But then she would understands if these kids will not be that daring since they live in a peaceful town and they were also homeschooled. So they only had each others as friend. No other friends who were as crazy as hers.

"I'm just kidding."Skye said after a while and smirked, unaware of the stare of the ash brown haired girl that was looking at her for many times now. "You set that dare so I would follow then."

"So, am I gonna kiss myself then ?" Skye said after a while as she asked Seamus, feighning innocence.

The latter just look at her confusedly. She then turned to looked at Vanessa to see her reaction. She had a creased form in her forehead but she had a lopsided smile too. Skye's attention was caught by Piper when she laughed.

"Aren't you quite conceited?" she said.

Skye smirked at her and said. "Just a little." and laugh then she cleared her throat afterwards.

"Okay. I'll do it now." Skye continued as she scan the people around the diner.

Aside from them, there were just two tables left inside. An old couple were eating peacefully and slowly on the farthest table and and next to them was a man in a suit that was already finished eating and just typing on his laptop.

There's also a person sitting on the counter stall but it was a teenager boy around the age of fifteen. Wearing glasses and reading books as he sip on his milkshake. And lastly, the chubby and middle aged cashier woman that was busy at the counter.

Skye don't really find them attractive enough. Just based on her preference though. But honestly, she was just buying time and kidding away. She just don't want to rush to kiss Vanessa. Because clearly, she's the most attractive person in this diner. Yeah there is Dean too but she won't kiss him and the other boys as well. And no offense to Piper. She has the look too but the dare is to kiss the most attractive one.

Skye was smirking as she turned to look at the person in front of her who was quietly looking at her. Maybe waiting for her to do the dare.

Skye smiled at her and carefully grab her hand on the table. She was about to kiss it when she heard the bell on the door rang and a person step inside.

She turned to look at them and that's when she stopped what she was about to do. That person was a young woman who wears a black turtle neck, black pants and a camel coat. She consciously knew she was in a dazed as she stared on her side profile.

Her hair was in a ponytail, so Skye can clearly see her face. She looks like the angel who help her on the alley four days ago. She tried to be sure if that woman is really her. If she will just turned to look on her way she would know.

As if the woman knew what she was thinking. It miraculously look at their direction. That's when she saw her Blueish grey eyes again. That's her. She can't be wrong.

Skye gasped. And it caught the attention of her friends.

"What?" Vanessa asked her confusedly but she didn't look at where she was looking at.

Skye was still looking at her as she walk gracefully towards the counter. She was in awe.

"What now, Skye?" Piper suddenly said and interrupt her staring. She look towards the youngest lady and blink.

She opened her mouth and closed again. She then to look at Vanessa and she was still looking at her questioningly.

She unclasped their hand and she just took a deep breath not answering Piper. She wanted to finish that dare and just kiss the person across her but something was stopping.

Kiss the most attractive person on this diner. Her mind kept reminding her that as if she needs to take it seriously.

She looked at Vanessa again but said nothing. The others were quite too, patiently waiting for her move.

She doesn't like the thought that was forming in her mind but she don't want to waste the time.

Skye Skye for a second time and stood up, building up her courage.

"Where are you going?" Seamus and Piper asked in unison. They were somehow confused to her move because obviously she was about to kiss Vanessa.

"Don't tell us you're backing out." Piper said as she squint her eyes on her.

"Hell no." she replied but her gaze was on the woman who was now sitting on the counter with a coffee in hand. "I'm actually doing it now. Wish me luck guys." she added before she left the table and walk towards where her mind and body wanted her too.
