Brie’s P.O.V
I was thirty minutes early to work, which is what I preferred because I would always rather be early than late. The woman, I now know as June, was in the dining area, cleaning. I asked if she needed any help and she was showing me how things were done there, even the paperwork. We did all the paperwork and then she added my details into the computer, then she showed me around and by the time we were done it was almost time for me to go, but I told her I would stay an extra hour to help out with customers and clean up because it was getting really busy. I hurried around, taking orders and making the drinks, then placed the orders on the right tables. I was really enjoying myself and then one lady tipped me twenty dollars.
“Oh wow, thank you so much.” I said and she smiled.
“You’re welcome, young lady. I was like you once and didn’t know what I was, but I worked hard so I could live. I hope you find out soon.” The lady replied and I stood there with my mouth wide open as I watched her get up and walk out of the coffee shop. How did she know about me? How did she know I didn’t have a clue what I was? I hope she comes back and that way I can ask her. I looked at the clock and it was time for me to leave, so I went to June and she showed me how to clock out.
“You did a wonderful job, so your next shift is tomorrow, which is the busiest time. I hope you like it here enough to come back.” June said and I quickly nodded.
“Of course I’ll be back tomorrow, I love it here already.” I replied, smiling. This place reminded me of Jeffery’s coffee shop, so it was a little like being back there. I walked out of the coffee shop just as a car was pulling up, but whoever was inside must have been important because they had their own driver. I headed to my car, taking my apron off as I walked, but I felt like someone was staring at me. I felt an extremely strong aura coming off whoever it was, so they must have been an Alpha, a very strong and powerful Alpha. I tried my hardest not to look at whoever it was until I got into my car, but even then I refused to look and it was only as I was pulling away that I caught sight of the man out of the corner of my eyes. Holy moly, it’s him. Holy s**t, the f*****g Lycan King. I pretended like I didn’t see him and started my car because I wasn’t ready for this, especially as I smelled of coffee and needed a shower. I had to get the hell out of here, so I slowly backed my car up because I didn’t want him to think that I had seen him, but also because I wanted to give him the chance to stop me, but he didn’t. Maybe he thought I was someone else, who knows? Maybe he didn’t know that it was me because he just let me drive off. I was a little sad that he didn’t even attempt to stop me, but I was mostly happy and somewhat relieved because I didn’t want him to have a bad impression of me on our first meeting. Damn that was close, I thought as I drove away.

I glanced at her car one last time as she drove away and then went inside the coffee shop to meet my client, who was sitting at one of the tables. He was a new Alpha and I think that his name is Vis, but I really didn’t care because I was still thinking about my mate.
“I’ll be with you in a second.” I said and he nodded. I walked to the front counter and waited for June to come out and when she did I quickly caught her attention. I needed to know if the woman I saw outside was the same woman that had been visiting me in my office and bedroom.
“June, the woman that just left here, what is her name? Is she working tomorrow? I need to know right away.” I said and of course my sister would look at me like I was crazy, but then she softly chuckled and shook her head at me. She knew what the look on my face meant the second she saw me.
“Her name is Brie and she is working tomorrow, brother.” June rep;ied and I let out a loud sigh of relief.
“Good, I don’t care what you have to do or how you have to do it, but you need to keep her here. I’m coming tomorrow and I’m claiming my mate.” I said and she nodded, but looked confused, so I began to tell her everything. I told her about how the woman first came to me in my office, then again in my bedroom while I was sleeping and then the last time when she left me the note.
“I honestly thought she was a ghost at first, but Goddess, she was so beautiful and then I found a note she left me telling me her name and that she had left home. I saw her again coming out of here, but I don;t think she saw me and I couldn’t chase after her because of this meeting. Please June, you need to do anything possible to keep her from leaving, is that clear?” I said and again my sister started to laugh. I had seen her this way when she found her mate and I couldn’t help laughing at her, but she had never seen me like this before, until now and she was doing the same thing to me as I had done to her.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever. Now go do your meeting and I’ll bring over some coffee in a few minutes.” June replied, rolling her eyes at me. I nodded and walked over to the new Alpha, using the powerful aura of the lycan king that I am. He bowed his head and then looked up.
“Alpha King, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you. I know that I am a new Alpha, but I wanted to tell you that I will be a great Alpha to my new pack and also I wanted to thank you for the land that you have given me.” Alpha Vis or whatever his name is said and I listened to this fool, that kept rambling on, but the way he talked was like he was a scared puppy, rather than an Alpha. I had enough of his jabbering and raised my hand slightly, stopping him from talking any further.

I couldn’t believe how nervous I was, but this was the Lycan King I was sitting with and talking to. I mean I couldn’t be in the presence of anyone more important than what he is and here I am, a babbling mess. Goddess I hope that he doesn’t see this as a weakness, I silently prayed.
“Vis, is that your name? How about instead of telling me that you’re going to be a great Alpha, you show me? I have many that say this and look at them now, they are either dead or have lost their pack because rogues took over and killed everyone. Show me you can and will be a great Alpha by keeping your pack alive and treating them fairly. I will also give you five years to find your mate because a pack cannot run successfully without a Luna. it’s simple and reasonable, if after those five years are up and you still haven’t found your mate then you will take a chosen mate. In the five years you can play and fool around as much as you like, but for Goddess sake, do not get any of those women pregnant because you will need to give up your true mate if you do. I won’t have you throw a poor girl with a child that is yours away, is that clear? I have rules that every Alpha has to go by and if you don’t go by these rules then you can easily be replaced as Alpha, is that clear?” Lycan King Depp asked and I slowly gulped and nodded. I sure hoped that I could show the king what I can do because I didn’t want to be replaced, so I will show him and make my king proud. We talked for a while longer and discussed a few other things while drinking our coffee and by the end of the meeting I felt a lot calmer and a lot more sure of myself.

After speaking for a bit longer, Vis finally seemed to relax around me, which is what I wanted. I didn’t want or need an Alpha that would be scared to come to me for help and his pack didn’t need that either. Sure, I ruled with an iron fist, but I also helped out every which way I could for the good of my kingdom and the supernatural creatures in it. After the meeting was finished and we had drank our coffee, Alpha Vis left and I went to speak with my sister again.
“Remember what I said, keep her here. I will come and give her a ride home. If she appears to me today then I won’t let on that I knew it was her.” I said and my sister nodded, but then she smirked at me.
“Oh shut up, June.” I said and she burst out laughing at me. I walked out of the door, shaking my head. I loved my sister, but sometimes she could be a real pain in my ass.
June’s P.O.V
When my brother walked into the coffee shop he looked flustered, but somehow the look on his face said it all. He had found his mate, but who was she? He has already gone through half the females at home, so it couldn’t be any of them or at least I hope not because they were all power hungry sluts that would only use him for their own gain. He hurried over to talk to me and I just had to mess with him the same way he did when I found my mate, but I was shocked to learn that it was Brie. My lycan, Beauty, kept telling me that she was different from all the rest and had weird coloured eyes, one blue and one brown, which both my lycan and I thought was really cool. I kept an eye on her, trying to figure out who or what she really is because she definitely wasn’t just human.
“I tried talking to whatever is inside her and all I heard was hissing, growling, howling and roaring.” Beauty said, confusing me.
“What the hell is she then?” I asked, but she just started laughing.
“What’s going on, what’s so funny?” I asked and she laughed again.
“I know what she is, but I’m not about to tell you. You’ll have to figure it out for yourself.” Beauty replied and blocked me out after that. I guess she had a good reason for not saying, especially if Brie doesn’t know herself just yet, but I was even more curious now.

I knew that my human wanted to know what I knew, but when I tried to talk to whatever it was I barely got through. Whatever it was, was still buried deep down inside her and it was really weak. From what I could gather it had been kept weak for many, many years, but why? I kept trying to talk to it, but all I heard were growls, hisses, roars and howling. Did it even know what it was? I don’t think it did, but I’m pretty sure that I figured it out. I decided against telling my human, not until the human, Brie, figured it out on her own. After I told her that I knew, but I wasn’t telling her I blocked her out, but the more I thought about it, the more I decided to give her a bit more information.
“She’s not a threat, a hard worker, yes, but she’s not a threat. Now, when we get home I want to come out and go for a run.” I said, talking to my human, June.
“Yes, alright.” June agreed and I sat at the back of her mind, watching as she hurried to clean up and lock the doors. I couldn’t wait to feel my paws on the ground, to run and be free, even if it was just for a few hours.
