"Come in, son." Daddy Tom smiled as he led me inside the master's bedroom. Wala si Mommy Mel, his wife. Ang alam ko she was out of town. They were the ones who adopted me. My family met an accident four years ago at hindi ko alam kung ano na ang nangyari sa kanila. I just woke up in a hospital with no memory of the reason why I was there. Kapag nagtatanong naman ako, people just smile sadly at me. I was eight years old then. Now, I am twelve. Seven months ago, this couple adopted me. Hindi raw sila mabigyan ng anak kaya mag-aampon na lang daw sila.

Mabait naman sila sa akin lalo na si Daddy Tom. Hindi ko pa man sinasabi, ibinibigay niya na. Siya ang nagpumilit na sa isang international school ako pumasok. Siya rin ang tagahatid at tagasundo ko. "Ilang taon ka na ulit, anak?" malambing niyang tanong. In fact, it was too sweet. I savored it. Sa ampunan kasi, hindi naman sila ganito kalambing sa akin. I looked at his eyes. Sa lahat ng meron siya, ‘yung pagtitig niya sa akin ang nagdudulot sa akin ng kaba. Para bang may dapat akong katakutan sa pagtitig na ginagawa niya.

"Vincent?" tawag niya sa akin dahil sa hindi ko agad pagsagot sa kanya.

"12 po, Dad." Nagyuko ako ng ulo. His stares are really creeping me out.

I heard one of the maids said that Daddy Tom is 6 footer.

Napatayo si Dad nang makita kami.

"You're son is fighting back. We are going at the delivery room para maitali siya." He darkly told dad. Napanganga ako sa kanya. What was he saying? I didn't fight back!
