Chapter 10

Maya’s P. O. V.

I could not think more, so I decided to take a relaxing bath first to refresh my mind before I could decide what should I do next.

As far as I have come to know, it looks like I still have a lot to take in about this whole new alien world which I mistook for the same one with which I was familiar with in my previous life. But now that it is been proved that my assumptions were not totally right, I need to dig in a bit more to fully know about this whole new system of the hi-tech world. I did not even know if it is only made for me or the others as well as unlike me no one might have come back from death to walk on a path of revenge.

On top of that, it is also true that I need to find dad before any harm could even touch him.

Without wasting any more second, I walked straight to the bathroom and opened that tap to fill the luxurious bathtub which was beautifully settled in the middle while the one sided see-through glass was giving an enchanting view of the city from a great height.

Yes, the view of the city at the night time from the bathtub and the lukewarm bubble bath to soak my body in for a good time was enough to relax my body as well as my mind from all the worries, at least for this moment.

I could not even realise how time went by while I let myself enjoy the bath after a long flight.

Yes, I needed that very much, cause I knew that I will not let myself rest after this moment until I could ensure dad’s safety. And if the weird system was right, I must hurry cause I do not have much time to find that guy.

“Massimo, The Nightingale bar and casino.”

Just when I recalled what the system mentioned, I could not help but mutter the name of the guy and the place where I should find him. For some reason, his name sounded so much familiar to me, as if I have heard about him in my past life as well, but I am not sure. Cause when I was the leader of The Sapphire Syndicate, so many people had worked underneath me and it was kind of impossible to remember them all.

So, I needed to find out myself who the guy is exactly. Cause if not anything else, I never forget faces once I saw them. It could also be possible that he used to be one of my dealers back then.

All of a sudden another notification popped up right in front of my eyes when I was still soaked in the bathtub.

‘****Alert****

Two and half hours left to complete the task.’

It seemed like a reminder and flashed before me showing the remaining time but it did not stay for long as the beeping sound of the running timer soon faded away after notifying me about the time I have to do the given task now.

Taking in a long breath, I walked out of the bathroom to get dressed fast. I chose to wear the all black attire to keep myself low key as no one is aware of my identity yet.

So, it would be best for me not to reveal who I am exactly yet.

Anyway,

After making sure that I was carrying whatever is necessary to keep with while roaming on the streets of Las Vegas, I went out of my room 7015 and locked it with the key card.

“Let’s do this.” I said to myself just before I pressed the button of the elevator to go down.

I wondered if I should ask someone for the direction to The Nightingale bar and casino, but thinking that it might make me suspicious even more as I am no longer a woman in her thirties rather a twenty years old girl now, I decided not to do anything reckless.

While I was walking through the crowd, an idea struck my mind all of a sudden.

What if the system might help me in this regard. If it could narrate me about my task then it might also provide me with some help in need.

Even though I was not sure but I thought of trying out my idea once. Now the problem is I  have no clue how to make the screen appear in front of me on my own, either.

“Show me the direction to The Nightingale bar and casino.” I muttered under my breath, thinking that it might work, but nothing happened.

Then how?

I need to think about how the systems usually work.

If I really have been transported to some kind of hi-tech world or something like that, I might have the authority to make the system reappear before me as well. Yes, I must have it, but it is just that I could not get to find a way to make it happen yet.

There must be some kind of switch or touch sensor or anything like that.

Just when I thought of that idea, something caught my eyes in an instant.

A strange mark was there on my wrist which I did not notice before, not even in my past life, cause, as far as I remember, I have never got a single tattoo on my body.

The sign was not too tiny, nor too large and got a geometric shape that was gleaming on my skin. The glow was dull but enough for me to notice its presence.

Is it what I am thinking it is?
