Maya’s P. O. V.
Soon, Mr Miller entered the hall once again to let dad know that it was already time for them to leave.
“Good, I will be leaving then. See you all.” That was what dad said exactly before and even now which did give me enough reason to panic. Cause now I know that it was not going to happen. He is never going to return if I let him go now. But I have no way to stop him either.
So, I planned something else this time.
Dad stood up and straightened his suit just before he went out of the door in his big strides only to go to his car which was already waiting outside of the villa. Mr Miller and the other servants helped him to put the luggage in the car as soon as possible.
And when he was all set to leave, Dad looked back at us with the very same smile which I have once witnessed in my past life. I tried to stay as calm as possible cause I believe that I could bring him back this time for sure. I must.
“See you soon, Dad.” I said with a smile just when he got on the car and in no time the wheels picked up a great speed only to take him out of the gate of the Walton Empire.
“I will ask someone to drop you at school.” I said on my way back into the villa while Zoe followed me inside.
“Are you going somewhere too, sis? Cause I was thinking that I would take a ride with you to the school.” Zoe said from behind with her nasal voice and I could not help but remember the very last moment in my past life when I have seen her true face before I died that night. Even though the blood was already boiling inside my body as I wanted to kill them all who have dared to mess with me in my previous life and will try to do the same in the coming future as well, it is also clear to me that I should keep quiet for now, or I will mess everything up once again.
“Yes, I have somewhere important to go. It might take days. So please look after yourself until I return.” I uttered, grinding my jaws together as she was really getting on my nerves now.
“But you never said anything to dad before.” She asked once again and I freaked out.
I turned sharp to face her which made her halt on her way as she kept following me everywhere I was going to collect my stuff which I might need now that I have a change of plan.
No, I just can not lose my calm this easily or she will be alert, which obviously the last thing I want.
“I forgot as he suddenly informed us that he was going to leave for his business tour this morning only. And I just can not cancel my work either just because I forgot to tell him.” I replied as politely as possible for now and only when I was assured the she was not going to come up with yet another question I left the room quickly even before she could tag along.
“Charlie, could you please arrange someone to drop Zoe at her school?” I asked the head servant of our villa on my way out as he was a very trusted old man whom I know since my childhood.
“Right away, Miss.” He replied and was about to leave with the task that I have given him just when I called for him once again.
“Charlie, I have one more favor to ask you.” I uttered which made him turn around to stand facing me in no time.
“What is it, Miss?” he asked.
Even though I was still not sure if I should trust anyone or not in this life, I thought it would be better to keep people in my hands as it will be much easier for me to keep informed about everything and everyone.
“Well, I have to be out for a few days for my college trip, so would you please look after Zoe for me. I will be in touch.” I asked carefully so that he could not guess anything about what I am actually intending to do.
Yes, I wanted him to keep an eye on my dear little sister. I mean step-sister.
“Sure, Miss. I will do that. Anything else that you want?” Charlie asked and waited for me to answer.
“No, that will be all. Thank you, Charlie.” As soon as I replied, he bowed right before he turned to leave the room.
Now it was my turn to leave cause I have not much time in hand to catch the next flight to the city of sin, the city that never sleeps.
