Maya’s P. O. V.

‘This is the final boarding call for passengers  Mr Scofield and Miss Walton booked on the flight TT590 to Las Vegas. Please proceed to gate 32 immediately. The final checks are being completed and the captain will order for the doors of the aircraft to close in approximately five minutes time. I repeat. This is the final boarding call for Mr Scofield and Miss Walton. Thank you.’

Just when I rushed inside the airport, I heard the announcement, which was obviously meant for me. Cause I was late and the traffic was to blame for that, of course.

Anyway,

I could not afford to waste any more time as I was already running behind time, cause Dad’s flight might have taken off a long ago.

So, I started running towards the gate, cause if I do not hurry then I might miss my only opportunity to save dad as well as the chance to see exactly what caused Dad to get into such an accident which took his life in my past life. So far I kept believing that it was just a car accident that took his life but now that I have seen so many things and is well familiar with this underworld society cause in my past life I did lead a growing mafia group on my own for fifteen long years, I am not sure now. I am not sure if it was just an accident or was it a murder.

Whatever it is, one thing I was sure of was that I am going to take him back to home alive this time.

“Hi, this is Miss Walton…” As soon as I reached the gate number 32, I just had to mention my name to the flight attendant who seemed like waiting for me to board the flight before it takes off.

“Yes, this way. The flight will take off in a few minutes.” After checking my boarding pass and passport, he let me through the gate and I knew that I needed to hurry now.

I was barely carrying any luggage, so I did not have to worry much to check in my stuff and started running with the only backpack I had along with me.

I would say that I was lucky enough to get on the flight just on time. Soon, I was led to my seat which was of business class and only after settling myself down, I let go of the breath at last which I was holding in for long.

‘Ladies and gentlemen, welcome onboard flight TT590 to Las Vegas. We are now taking off and are expected to be in the air in approximately five minutes time. We ask that you please fasten your seat-belts at this time and secure all baggage underneath your seat or in the overhead compartments. We also ask that your seats and table trays are in the upright position for take-off. Please turn off all personal electronic devices, including laptops and cell phones. Smoking is prohibited for the duration of the flight. Thank you for choosing Skyscraper Airlines. Enjoy your flight.’

I heard the announcement while I was already tucking in my backpack to the overhead compartment.

A deep and desperate sigh came out of my throat in no time just when I looked at the screen of my cell phone. The image of me and Zoe popped up on the screen as I remembered when I have set this photo as the wallpaper, and I could not help but realize how foolish I was to think that she could be more important to me than anyone else.

I switched off the phone fast, as I just could not tolerate anything about her when I had something important to think about now that I have already decided to go after dad to Las Vegas.

This might be the first time I was travelling alone to another city in this life at this early age, but it was definitely not the first time for me, as I have already been used to travelling like this to different places in my past life.

Yes,

The fact is, no one is familiar with my name yet in this life even when I know everyone and every single thing related to this underworld society, which is definitely going to come in handy for me in due time.

Cause, I know people from my past life, so it will be easier for me to know where exactly I have to go or who exactly I have to look for if I want to protect dad.

Anyway,

It took almost seven hours for the flight to land on the ground of Las Vegas airport at last, from where I will have to take a cab to my next destination.

As soon as I came out of the airport the sparkling city in the night time was what caught my eyes first.

Yes, it is indeed a city that never sleeps. A city of riches as well as a city of sin.

In my past life, I have been here for so many times that I can not even count but this city never failed to mesmerize me no matter how many times I came, even now.

Without wasting any more time, I called for a cab and I did not even have to put much effort into finding one, cause it was one of the busiest and the fastest city where no one waits for others.

The cab soon stopped right in front of me with the mild screeching sound and I knew that it was my queue to get on it without any more delay, cause tonight I have so many things to get done with before I finally go to see my father in disguise.

“Luxor Hotel and Casino.” I gave the address to the driver as soon as I took the cab.

Yes, this was the place where I booked a room for myself at the last moment when I was already heading to board the flight this morning.

Even though this hotel was not the luxurious one here in Las Vegas, it was the best place for me to hide in and also this was the only place where I could find myself a room in a hurry.
