Maya’s P. O. V.

Listening to what I just said, he did not say anything for some time as if he was still trying to figure out what kind of business I may have with him.

“What do you do, Massimo.” I asked to give him some kind of clue, but little did I know that he will take the wrong idea.

“You want me to surrender so that you could lock me up behind the bars, don’t you? But it is never going to happen. Even if you do, my men will surely get me out of there.” Massimo shouted like a brute, and I could not help but sigh.

“You sure do have a brain, but would it hurt you if you try to use it somewhere it is actually needed?

Anyway,

I do not have time to play along with you anymore.

So, coming straight to the point.

You deal with firearms, and coincidentally I am looking for a dealer who could supply me with the best guns and other weapons.

In short, I want you to work for me.” I talked about what I wanted him to do, but the other end of the room fell absolutely silent as he did not say one single word out anytime soon. I did not know what he was busy calculating with, but I was sure that I was not going to give him any other option to choose no matter what.

Then at last the wait was over. His voice fell on my ears from the other end of the room after some time.

“You want to make a deal with me. But the funny thing is I do not even know who you are and what you do. Neither I know if you are even able to pay me or not. I guess you are not up to doing a business using the means of threatening, are you?” Massimo said in a very serious tone. Even though the fear was still lingering somewhere in his voice, he was not a coward at all cause he understands the risks in his kind of business.

“You are smart, I can see that.

Well, do not worry about that. I prefer to play fair, unlike you.

You will get your money every time you deliver the best items in your stock.” I replied knowing that he is not the man to believe in just a few words from someone whom he did not even know.

So, I said further even before he could turn the deal down, not that I was going to give him any choice to do so.

“In fact, I want some right now.” As soon as I said, I opened a briefcase full of money and held it before his eyes so that he could not deny it. And by seeing him astonished after witnessing such a great amount of money right before his eyes at once, anyone could tell how shocked he was as if he just can not believe what he was seeing.

And I already knew what his answers will be after this.

“Let’s do this. I will provide you with all the types of equipment that you will need as far as you do not stop these briefcases coming every time.” Massimo uttered while his eyes were already glistening with greed for money.

“It is a deal then.” I confirmed, and closed the briefcase at last and put it down on the ground, only to say further, “Now coming back to the real business. You have to keep it all in mind while you will be working under me. If you ever try to breach these rules, you have to pay with your life then.”

I kept saying my terms after that and untied him,  knowing that he will never dare to do anything harsh. Even if he did, I was ready to take him down in a second.

Massimo listened to my words very carefully all this while but one thing which kept his eyes trapped was the briefcase which was sitting on the ground the whole time, and it was the only reason he could not even argue with me.

Anyway, how better it could be.

At last, when I was done, I uttered the very last words which again made him a bit annoyed but little did care.

“Anyway, I was going to ask you to give the guns which you have got right now, but you know, it is all useless as I have already taken out these two beasties way earlier. So, take the money for now and get out.

Ah yes. Do not try to run away, cause it will be all for nothing as I know how to find you out, and if something like that ever happens, our deal is not going to be a peaceful one like this. Do you get it?” I said, holding the beauty FN FIVE-SEVEN in my hand while the other one was still lying on the other side of the desk where I was sitting right at this moment.

But then, Massimo did the most foolish thing ever for which he even had to suffer a great deal of pain.

Cause, just when Massimo stood up from his seat at last, he tried to take the other pistol from the desk on his way out which he supposed not to even when it was one of his precious weapons.

Just when he put one single finger on that beauty, I lifted up my leg and nailed his hand down on the desk with the heel of my boot with such a great force that his hand almost broke, causing him to feel a great deal of pain in no time, that he could not even hold back his screams any longer,

“f**k, you b***h. Those are mine.” Massimo cursed but it only made me laugh.

“They were but not anymore.” My cruel voice was enough…enough to make Massimo quiet, for some time at least.

Then again he opened his mouth to ask the most awaited question, as he still could not see my face properly yet,

“Who the hell are you?” He asked annoyingly.

And I know it was not the time to reveal my identity to him yet even when I must give him a name or else how this deal is going to work. At this very moment, the only thing which came to my mind was the very number of the system in which I am kind o f trapped now, ever so mysteriously. The system number PHOE91X.

It sounded so very alike to a word, a name. Yes, the magical bird which dies and then borns again from its own ashes.

The one who never dies.

“Phoenix. I am Phoenix.

And that is all you need to remember for now.

In time, you will know who I am exactly.” I replied.
