E: The Hideout

Elizabeth Carter I wasn't sure what was happening until Sara and Kimberly slept over for two nights straight. They seemed to be here for Zachary, claiming they haven't seen him in a while. They said they were here to spend time with me, as if I didn't see them every week. It wasn't until Jason called me that I realized Sara was hiding out. Kimberly spend most days with us so it wasn't as obvious. Then I watched her ignore call after call from lord knows who. I sat them down in Jake's office, getting tired of being played. They would tell me what was going on if it was the last thing they did. "What's going on?" I stared from one to the other. Kimberly wondered around the room pretending to be interested in Jake's book collections. Sara gazed at the walls as if her mind wasn't present. "Hello?" I bellowed loudly. "What?" Sara asked, coming back to the room, sitting up in her chair. "What's going on?" I asked again. "Nothing." she shrugged. "Okay, then you can go home." I tested. "Do you not like my company?" I sighed as I rubbed my forehead. "You asked me to lie to Jason about where you were a few days ago. Are you hiding from him?" "Maybe." she answered. "Why?" I almost shouted. "Because... It's not going anywhere. I need time to think of whether I want to continue to wait." "Did you talk to him?" "Every single night." She exhaled. "I just want..." she stopped as if she was tired of hearing her self speak. "I'm giving up." she announced. The room fell quiet, Kimberly stopped pacing. No one was speaking after a while and I didn't know what to tell her. What could I tell her? I've watched her struggle for years at not being able to move forward with Jason and start the family she wanted. "I don't know who to chose from." Kimberly tried to kill some of the awkwardness. "From your men?" Sara chipped in, trying to start a conversation. "Yeah." "But we like Alex. He was cute, and hard working. That's not something your use to." Sara replied. "Oh we're throwing shots now?" Kimberly's brow raised. I rolled my eyes, knowing these two well. I folded my arms and waited. "Just an observation." Sara retorted. "Oh we're making those now? Well here's an observation. Jason got tired of waiting for you to stop wiping Elizabeth's ass and started focusing on himself. You took too long and he got tired of waiting for you. Now you're here crying about it." The room fell quiet. I covered my eyes with my fingers, unable to look up into anyone's eyes. "Touché. Tou-f*****g-ché" Sara stood up and left the room, slamming the door behind her. "She'll be okay." Kimberly muttered as she sat on the desk fiddling with the papers. "Everyone's emotions are just running terribly high right now and I'm not sure how to calm y'all down." I slurred in frustration. "Just... give us your life." "What do you mean?" "You have it all. The house, the husband, the child, the friends, me..." she smiled at her ego and self boost. "Give us what you have." "My life is far from perfect. I still am not able to get back to work. I'm home all day waiting for my husband to come home, and I hate it. This sets women back fifty years. I have my degree. Do I put that on hold for this, to be able to stay home and bake? Why can't Jake do that? Stay home while I work." "Well first, Sara would kill you because then Jason would be even more busy. Jason would hate you because everything would be left to him, and well... yeah." "You don't think Jake would hate me?" "Do you know my brother? You are perfect in his eyes." She mocked. The office door opened with a small knock as she finished speaking. "Should I leave and come back? To my own office I might add." Jake asked with slight humor. "Yes, we're talking." Kimberly folded her arms. "Hi," he smiled at me, ignoring Kimberly. I blushed at the intensity his eyes still brought me. I could never get use to them. "Hi," I muttered back, raising to my feet. "I should check on Zachary." "He's fine." He caught me around my waist before I could exit the room. "Are you upset with me?" "Are we still pretending?" I muttered to him in irritation. "I thought we were finished with that?" "No, you finished and I just chose not to speak of it." "Hello?" Kimberly tried to break our eye contact but it didn't work. We were completely unmoved when it came to this issue. How was I solely responsible for the child care of our child? I was bored out of my mind at home all day. "I love you." he whispered as he brushed his lips against mine. "Nice try." I patted his cheek with my hand and peeled myself away from him, joining Zachary and Sara in the other room. I woke up to the sound of myself moaning. My toes curled under and my head feel back against his chest. His harden erection laid against my cheeks, and his hands were snaked into my underwear. His fingers massaged my swollen opening, my eyes rolling back. "You don't have to worry about a thing," he promised as he whispered in my ear soothingly. "I'll take care of you." I moaned harder as his finger entered me, spreading my legs wider. I wanted to tell him to stop but it felt so good. He knew just how to get me. He began to tease my n*****s with his fingers, pulling them gently. "I don't ever want you to worry." he taunt as he bit my earlobe, sending me over the crumbling edge. I bit my lip as I came on his fingers, enjoying the firm grip he had on my body. We laid in bed quietly listening to the sound of each others breathing. "I need to do something besides staying at home all day." I whispered. "Go shopping." he mused. "You're not taking this seriously." I tried to pull away from him but he pulled me back. "Alright." He leaned over to grab his ringing phone. He answered it quickly, ending our conversation. I frowned at him, hating his addiction to his cellphone. He rose from the bed, entering into the washroom like always. I stared at the closed door wondering why most of his conversations in the morning happened in the washroom. Why couldn't he talk around me? The loud noise from downstairs caught my attention. I got out of bed and opened my room door. Kimberly exited from Jake's office in her robe, concerned written on her face. "What is that?" "I think it's Jason and Sara." Kimberly replied. "This early in the morning?" "Well he came to pick something up and ran into Sara in the kitchen." "Perfect." I sighed as I made my way downstairs. "That's none of your business, Jason." Sara argued. They were around the kitchen island across from each other. Jason looked angry but Sara appeared composed. "If you're seeing someone else that is my business." He snapped "Not anymore." "So that's it? You're leaving me. Just like that?" "It's not just like anything. I have talked to you about this countless times." His fingers ran through his hair in anger. "I'm sorry I'm not fast enough for you, Sara. After putting me off for so long, I'm sorry I'm trying to create something better for us." "There you go again. You're always blaming me for this, but guess what? It's been years since I've been ready. I'm done waiting." He slammed the counter with his fist. "Fine. Let's just get this over with. You want a ring? We'll go find one tomorrow. You want a baby? I have half an hour until work." "You're so f*****g insensitive. f**k you!" Sara spat. She stormed off to the washroom, tears running down her cheeks. "Guys, Zachary is still sleeping." I had no idea if he was or not, but they were being too loud. "Tell me what she wants me to do." Jason pleaded as he grabbed his work bag. "Honestly, maybe this is for the best." he shook his head as he exit through the from door, closing it. "Tell Jake I'm in the car." I sighed in frustration. There was so much happening around me and no time at all to process any of it. I ran back up stairs to see Jake taking a shower after showering Zach, and Kimberly was getting him ready for school. Time passed by so quickly. I can still remember the helpless baby in my arms. Now he was walking, talking, and in grade one. I entered into Jake's office to grab Zach's favourite blanket. He likes to cuddle up on the couch and wait for Jake to come home. Sometimes he would hide in here to try and scare him. I smiled at this, remembering I was outnumbered two to one in this house. Unfortunately I wasn't willing to go back just yet to try my luck with a girl. His blanket was thrown over the couch arm and was in need of a wash. When I went to retrieve it, I noticed a piece of green lace sticking out of the cushions. I pulled it out unconsciously, only to be left holding womans' underwear.
