Luvina lowered her gaze to the floor. “I already explained all that, Inspector Gall. Didn’t your sergeant tell you?”
“He told me a great deal, but I want to hear more, especially from you.”
“I said all this already. I was awakened in the night by a stranger climbing through my open window. He yanked me out of my bed and dragged me outside. I screamed, and then I heard shouts from the village men. The stranger was frightened, so he threw me over his shoulder and ran into the forest.”
