Once we were done cleaning the dining room, it was already time to start cooking lunch. There was nothing left for us to eat for breakfast, so I hoped lunch would give us more luck. We made sandwiches and chips, stacking them on plates that we placed on the dining room table, with different bottles of soda and cups.
I would kill for a glass of soda right now.
But when I had proposed to Judy that we should have a glass too, she had looked at me in full horror, shaking her head. So I decided to drop the subject. I kept thinking the entire time how she had been able to pull this off, being all alone for so long in this massive kitchen. The amount of food we made was insane! And the willpower she had, to not take one bite from something, not once, made my respect towards her grow by the minute. Along with that, my hunger was growing as well by the minute. I really hoped there would be something left. If not, maybe if I asked Kai…
I was yanked out of my daydream as voices started to come from behind the door once again.
Great, the assholes have returned.
Me and Judy set ourselves back on the floor while we waited. After fifteen minutes, we heard someone yell.
“Pet!”, making Judy jump up immediately. Horror spread over her face. I stood up and tried to shush her. “It’s OK, I’ll go. You stay here and relax.” She looked at me, as if she was seeing me for the first time. I smiled at her, trying to come off as calm.
“There’s two of us now, you don’t have to carry this on your own anymore.” And before I knew it, her arms were around me, squeezing me into her hug.
“Thank you.” I heard her sob against my ear.
“PET!” I heard another scream, so I let her go, still smiling at her, when I turned around and left the kitchen. Walking into the dining room.
There must have been twenty guys, sitting at the table. They were all eating like toddlers, or pigs even. Seriously?
Table manners?
I was disgusted as I watched them, trying to figure out who the hell called for me. My gaze stopped as I saw Kai, his eyes meeting mine. He looked surprised seeing me.
Why is he surprised?
And Goddess, he looked so handsome today, his hair laid back, wearing a dark blue denim shirt, sleeves pulled up to his elbow, making me spot his gorgeous tattoo again. One leg resting on his chair as he sat there, looking bored.
“Pet, are you f*****g deaf?” I tried to focus and ripped my eyes away from the God sitting at the head of the table, seeing that douchebag Seth was the one who had called. I walked over and stopped behind his chair.
“Yes?” I asked him as I looked at him, trying to look anything but intimidated by him. While deep inside, I was crawling into a corner, hoping he would not see me.
“Water, now!” He hissed as he looked up, seeing he looked surprised seeing me here as well.
Yeah genius,
not Judy,
Ten points for you.
I turned around and walked back into the kitchen, filling up a carafe with water and carrying it back into the dining room. I walked straight to Seth, though I could feel Kai’s eyes burning on me. I took Seth’s glass and filled it up, placing it in front of him as he took it and drank it empty in one big gulp, he swallowed and turned to me, a grin forming on his face. Before I knew it and my mind could even speed up, he had yanked the carafe out of my hands, and smashed it into the nearest wall.
“This f*****g water is not cold, you dumb b***h!” My eyes opened as I looked at him in awe.
“You asked for water, not ice water. Maybe you should be more specific next time.” I spit back.
Fucking asshole!
The other guys started to laugh, making Seth turn red in anger. He stood up slowly, like a predator, sneaking up to his prey. And once again, out of nowhere, his hand flew up, grabbing my hair in his fist as he pulled me towards him, making me cry out in panic, our noses touching as his eyes were shooting daggers at me. He opened his mouth to speak, but a roar sounded through the room, preventing him from saying anything. Seth turned his face, seeing the roar had been coming from Kai, who was standing up now, his hands on the table as he looked at Seth, like he was ready to kill him.
“Hands off my pet, Beta.” He growled at him, while I felt his hand in my hair clench together even further, making me cry out once again.
“NOW!” Kai roared at him, finally feeling his hand loosen, as he let me go. I stepped back immediately, his scent made me sick and I wanted nothing more than to turn around and run away. But somehow, I was frozen in my place, as I felt Kai’s eyes running over me.
“You, go to our room, now!” He hissed at me, pointing to the door towards the stairs. My eyes grew wide, as I thought about Judy, who was still in the kitchen.
“I need to clean up.” I swallowed at him, my eyes never leaving his. He leaned back a little, as if he was surprised by my answer.
“You get your ass to our room, right now, or I will drag you up the stairs myself.” Kai threatened me. Another dagger through my heart.
Why does he talk to me like that?
I felt tears pricking in my eyes, as I started to walk out, hearing those idiots laugh behind my back. They probably haven’t had entertainment in weeks.
ASSHOLES!
As soon as I made it up the stairs, tears were running down my face. Why was Kai being so mean to me? When Seth had grabbed me and Kai made him stop, I truly thought I saw love in his eyes, that he was trying to protect me, because I was his mate.
He just sees me as a f*****g toy and doesn’t want anyone else to break it before he does…
I slammed open our bedroom door as I found it. Slamming it close again behind me, before I started to run as fast as I could, making it to the room the furthest away from the door, the small library. I ran to the corner, the furthest away, where I let myself sink down towards the floor, as I started to sob beyond my control.
