Judy

Judy took some strands of hair and placed them behind her ears as she cleared her throat.

“I need to come and tell you about the rules of the house.” She spoke, as if someone had made her memorize these lines. I walked up to her, seeing just now how her body was completely covered in bruises.

What happened to you?

“Judy, who did this to you?” I couldn’t help myself asking her as I looked at her body. She looked down, as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

“Oh,” She said as she understood what I was referring to.

“I am Seth’s pet. When he is not pleased with me, he punishes me.” She bit her bottom lip as she looked up again. I tilted my head and couldn’t help myself, but to feel sorry for her.

If Kai had not stepped up and taken me,

Seth would have killed this girl!

He spoke about her as if she meant nothing to him.

“Judy, we need to escape, we need to get out of here! My father is the Alpha of the Denali pack. If we can somehow contact him, he will come for us.” Judy smiled, but her eyes told another story.

“I already tried, a lot, there’s no way to escape this place.” And as she spoke, her eyes filled with tears. “after a while, I didn’t try anymore, the punishments were getting too hard.” My mouth fell open. I could only imagine what she must have been through.

“Judy, where do you come from? Where is your pack? How did they take you?” Judy’s eyes opened a bit more in fear.

“I used to live in a small pack. There were not more than 20 of us. But it was nice, we called ourselves the White claw pack. One night, they came.” She swallowed as I saw her remembering it all again.

“They killed everyone except for the younger girls. They took everything. They sold us off or kept us as pets. There used to be five of us in this house, now it’s just me.” I looked at her in horror.

“Why would they do that?”

What sick monsters are they?

Judy just shrugged.

“I think Seth wants to get rid of me too, but they keep me around to cook and clean for them.” She looked back up at me as a single tear fell from her eyes. I couldn’t help myself and pulled her in for a hug.

“I am so sorry!” I whispered to her, as I felt her freeze under my touch, her arms not hugging me back. I leaned back to look at her again.

“Hey, maybe we can be friends, you and I? We can help each other get through this, until my father finds us and saves us, OK?” Judy looked into my eyes, and I could have sworn I spotted some hope in there. She waved at the two seats and stepped over, sitting down in one. I seated myself in the other one, my eyes never leaving hers.

“So, I need to tell you about the rules.” She spoke again, as she did when she spoke her first sentence to me. I nodded at her.

“We have to provide the pack with breakfast, lunch and dinner, we clean the pack house, and we cannot go outside ever. If they catch you outside, you will get punished. You never look the pack members in their eyes, and only speak to them when you are spoken to. If you do not, you will get punished.” I felt my eyes grow bigger.

Slaves,

They make us slaves?

“You must accept your master’s demands at all times. If not, you will be punished.” Judy swallowed hard after that sentence. She was clearly struggling with this part.

“And when our work is done, we stay in our room. The living area is only for pack members, which we are not a part of. If we do not, we will be punished.” Judy spoke and looked up, making it clear her little speech had come to an end.

“Judy, how long have you been living here like this?” I whispered to her.

"I think it's been two years." She whispered, looking down.

What kinds of hell did this girl have to go through?

Seeing your entire pack getting killed,

being taken by these sick monsters to get yourself turned into a slave,

while some douchebag did what he wanted to you,

whenever he wanted to.

And you did not even have a right to say no or stop?

I sighed as I looked at this broken girl in front of me. Her bambi eyes staring at the floor.

“Breakfast is served at 9, so we get into the kitchen at 8. Lunch is at 12, so we start cooking at 11. Diner is at 7 and we start preparing for that around 6 o’clock. After breakfast, we clean the pack house. If we hurry up, we can be done with cleaning before lunch and then between lunch and dinner, we have some free time.” I nodded at her, not knowing what else to do right now. Judy stood up, as she walked towards the door.

“I need to leave you now. Seth was not happy, and he made me return to his room within ten minutes.” She spoke as I saw horror reflect in her eyes. I nodded fast at her.

“ OK, then I will see you in the kitchen tomorrow at 8.” Judy nodded back, as she put her hand on the doorknob.

“Judy,” I called back at her, before she exited the room.

“We are friends, right?” I asked her, hoping she would be the one person I could turn to in this hellhole. She nodded, but showed no emotions.

“ OK.” She nodded, stepping outside and closing the door behind her. Hearing her closing it again with a key.

I sighed as I turned around, facing the room once again.

I am so f****d!

FUCK!

I just stood there for a while, thinking about everything that Judy had told me. They were monsters. I couldn’t wait to tell my father, so he could slaughter them all. My mind stopped with Kai. Was he really my mate? What on earth did I do to get him as my mate? Would I be able to live with myself if I would let my father kill my own mate? My wolf Tala growled lightly, she was not feeling this idea at all.

What am I going to do?

I just needed to find some way, any way, to get out of here. I knew myself too well, my big mouth would get me in trouble sooner or later. I was not the type to sit back and let someone command me like a maid and hurt me if I said the wrong thing or broke a rule.

I was raised to be a leader,

not a follower!

My wolf Tala nodded at that thought, agreeing at least with this part. I sat myself back down on one of the couches, looking out of the window that was keeping me trapped, for now. But the pitch dark night gave nothing away. It was as if I was trapped inside a world of nothing, nothing but horror and pain.
