ROSALIND CABELLO "Rosalind come on get up. You are going to be late for your classes." Someone calls out to me but I am still sleepy so I lay down lazily. "Baby, wake up. How long will you be sleeping?" This time I realize it's my aunt Paola who starts to shake me gently. "I am up Auntie." I sleepily mumble but sit up after a few seconds before a big yawn leave my mouth. "That's my good girl. Now, get ready for your college. Your driver will be here in a few minutes." Auntie says while kissing my forehead. I nod my head before getting inside the bathroom for my morning routine which is basically showering, brushing my teeth, and getting dressed for the day. After getting dress in a pink crop top and a pair of black jeans I take my bag before going downstairs I know my aunt is having breakfast. Upon seeing me, she puts chocolate milk and bread-butter in front of me as this is what I like to eat for breakfast every single day. I quickly finish my breakfast before taking the lunch box that aunt has prepared for me. "Rosalind, your Dad won't be able to come here till next month." I halt hearing what Auntie just said. "Why?" I ask looking at her with a pout. "He has to go to malaysia for some urgent work." That all she replies while I try not to cry because I can't cry in every single time Dad doesn't come here to meet me in the weekends. "Okay, I am leaving." I let her know before walking out of the house and going towards where Mr. Davies who is my driver is waiting for me. I greet him like I do everyday and get inside the car that is a gift from my Dad. No, I am not a spoiled brat just because I have my own car. I don't have any other choice besides riding in a private vehicle as I don't do well around unknown persons so I can't travel in public transports. Let me tell you about something important about me. I may look like I am alright from outside but I am not. I can talk freely but around some of specific people. I am very good at studies but still many calls me freak just because sometimes I stutter due to getting nervous or scared and its all because of my Autism. Yes, I have autism but by seeing me from outside no one will be able to guess it as I am very fluent with my speech. It's not like I never have any problem because there are a few words which pretty hard for me to pronounce. However, my family and best friend always help me out. "Ma'am we are here." Mr. Davies says making me look out of the window to see that we are indeed in front of my college which is one of the best in town. Just as I get out of the car someone jump on my back making me scream loudly. But then a hand cover my mouth so I fearfully turn around to find that it's none other than my one and only friend Tiana. "Come on girlie hurry up. We are going to be late on the first day of college." Tiana says pinching on the cheeks while I take a few deep breaths to control my speedily beating heart. "Why do you always jump on me from behind?" I whine while she chuckles before linking her right arm to my left arm. "Because it's fun to watch you get scared." She replies looking smug making me pout. "I will not share my lunch with you." I retort folding my hands over my chest. "Uggghh! Not the same threat. You know that my shitty egg doner make shitty food so I always depend on you for lunch." She replies with a huff. I giggle in return at my best friend's antics. She has a very colorful mouth which she likes to use a lot. But I don't mind her company because she is the only one who doesn't think of me as a freak. Both of us walk towards our class because neither of us like to be late. We are both doing a Masters in English and we are the students of the final year. We have been studying in the same college for a few years. When we reach our classroom, we see that the classroom is completely full but the last raw is clear of any student so we go there before sitting down. Some students start to gossip between them about me and that's starting to make me uncomfortable. They always do this because they think I am some freak for not talking to anyone besides some teachers and my best friend. They also accuse me of being arrogant because of my good grades. "Don't you have another thing to do besides looking at her?" Tiana yells at them. They quickly look away seeing the anger in Tiana's face. She may look like an innocent person but when it comes to me she can be very scary. "Are you okay Rosy?" She asks using the nickname she has given me when everyone turns around. I nod my head not wanting to say anything. I have never felt comfortable around anyone besides my family or Tiana so I don't like to talk much when I come to college or anywhere. When the teacher comes all the students stand up to greet her. She starts the class with a new novel that is going to be important in our syllabus for the exam. When the bell rings indicating that the class has completed the teacher tells us to not leave the classroom, as she has some important announcement to make. "Students I will like to inform you that in the upcoming week our college will be hosting a Fresher's program for all the new students of the college. As the final year students and also the senior we want you all to cooperate with us. I have another good news for you all that our Principal has asked for a very famous businessman to be the guest of honor for that day. I hope you all know his name because he is none other than Mr. Adam Smith who was also a former student of our college. That's all for today. Now, you all can go." The teacher says before getting out of the class. All the students start to talk among themselves while I and Tiana get out of there for our next class. "Why do they need to invite a businessman when we have so many businesswomen in our country who were also a student of our college?" I ask Tiana not understanding the logic behind inviting Mr. Smith. "He is an extremely successful businessman and besides like others he didn't get anything in a silver platter. He has worked hard to gain everything he has now. Also, I have heard that his speech has encouraged people to do better in their lives." She answers back. "But still I don't like that person. I have read a lot about him being rude and arrogant to everyone. So how can a person like him give an encouraging speech to others?" I ask stubbornly. "Not everything we read is bound to be true. Let's not talk about a person whom we both don't know personally. Okay?" She says while pinching my cheeks. "Okay," I reply with a small smile. Both of us attend four more classes before we get the chance to eat lunch. Like every day I share my lunch with her while talking about various things. We do this every day because without it there is nothing else to do. Tiana finds the library boring and I hate crowded places. After finishing college for the day, both of us wait for my car to arrive. I want to give Tiana a ride to her home but as per my aunt's order, I can't do that. Finally, Mr. Davies comes to pick me up, so I say bye to Tiana and get inside the car. Halfway through the drive, Mr. Davies suddenly stops the car making me confused but before I can ask him why he has stopped the car, I notice a black van stop across from our car. I am getting bad vibes from the van so I take out my phone from my bag. Mr. Davies starts the car again but some men come out of the van before smashing the car windows with rods making me whimper. I hold my palms over my ears because I don't like loud noises. But my efforts turn out to be futile when a loud bang sound emerges from the side making my eyes widen. Shortly after that, the side of my door gets open up and a hand grabs me by my arm before tugging me outside. I try to get free from the person's hold but he is much stronger than me. Suddenly, I feel a prick in my neck making me wince and in a few seconds, everything turn black around me.
