I was enjoying my book. No one had bothered me so far. Perhaps staying here to guard the Alpha quarters had been unnecessary after all. Still, I was a better, safe than sorry kind of man, so I would have made the same decision again. I heard footsteps approaching and put down my book. Paul came into view, and I relaxed. I had nothing to worry about with him. He asked if there was anything else that I needed. I thanked him and shook my head, I was good. It looked as though there was something that he wanted to say, but he was unsure how to go about it. I figured that I should help him out. "Paul, is there something on your mind?" I asked. He nodded.
