COUNCIL MEMBER PERRY
I explained everything that I had found out to the council leader. He agreed with my decision not to charge Luna Rivers-Morris with anything. She had done nothing wrong, but I highly doubt that he would have risked pissing off the silver wolf over something so trivial anyway. Plus, no one liked Alpha Simmons. It was pleasing to know that a woman had been the one to take him down a peg. He also agreed that Alpha Simmons himself should face charges. He had hurt his Luna, whom he had sworn to protect when taking their vows. He had been trying to lock her in the trunk of a car and had committed adultery. As they weren't mates, this wasn't really a crime. It was illegal to cheat on your mate as it would cause them a great deal of physical pain. Not being mates, she wouldn't have felt the pain of him being with another. However, it was another example of him breaking the vows that he had taken. Luna Simmons was clearly being mistreated at home in the Winter Falls pack, too. If she was made to go back there with him, then I would suggest a full investigation into this. The council leader agreed. He informed me that Alpha Colton Drake would be arriving in Moon River the next day. He was flying in to help a decision about his daughter's future be made.
I returned to the group and told them of Alpha Drake's impending arrival. Alpha Simmons turned white for a moment before a smile filled his face. It wasn't a cheery smile, more of a smug, twisted smile. The thought of Alpha Drake arriving clearly gave him some sort of confidence that things would go his way. I then told him that we would be bringing charges against him and wiped that smile right off of his face. He stormed out of the room, stating that he would be staying in his room until Alpha Drake arrived. He demanded that food be brought to him at once. "Woman, come with me. You are still my wife," he demanded. Chloe looked sadly at the ground and stepped forward. Alpha Baxter opened his mouth to protest, but I had had quite enough of arguments today. I stretched an arm out in front of Luna Simmons, stopping her. "Given the circumstances, I think that it would be for the best if everyone were to remain in their own rooms until we get this sorted out." I said. He looked like he wanted to attack me, but we both knew that he would lose that fight, so instead, he just stomped off with a face the colour of beetroot.
Luna Simmons thanked me, the relief in her voice clear. I offered to escort her to her room personally and told her that a guard would be placed outside to make sure that she wasn't bothered. She took my arm and smiled at me. We reached her room and she opened the door. I saw a folded slip of paper on the carpet inside. Picking it up, I opened it and read, "Do you really think that he will ever truly choose you over her? You are nothing compared to her. She is his first love and a silver wolf. He would reject you in a heartbeat to be with her." The note itself was on the type of paper that was in my room. I could only assume that it was in all the rooms. However, that did mean that it was someone with access to those rooms. Likely someone who was staying in the pack house. Although a maid could have taken the paper while cleaning or gotten it from wherever it was stored. The writing gave nothing away either. It was written all in block capitals to disguise the writing. I sniffed the paper, hoping for a trace of the writer, but got nothing. They must have worn gloves. Otherwise, they would have left their scent behind while touching the paper. This was infuriating. I assured Luna Simmons that she shouldn't pay any attention to the words. It was just someone trying to cause more trouble. She nodded, but I could see the doubt I her eyes.
I left her under the watch of Beta Paul Mason. Chris had requested it, stating that he would not rest unless he knew that Chloe was safe, and he trusted no one more than his beta to watch over his mate. I had agreed to his request. Beta Mason was a skilled fighter and a good man. He waved me off as I left. I arranged for food to be taken up to them all and went back to my own room. I placed the note on the table and picked up the pad that was in my room. I began to make a list of people who had stayed in the pack house and the type of staff members who could have accessed the paper. I made a note to ask where it was kept, from whoever brought my food. It may not be as important as the issues that we were facing, but I could do nothing about them except wait. This, however, I could look into. I wanted to know who had sent these notes and why. What could they possibly hope to gain from it?
?????????????????????????
I wanted to know what was going on in that room so badly, but there was no way of finding out. I was pleased to see the mayhem caused by my note to Alpha Simmons. I am so pleased that I decided to have a little bit more fun. I watched as Amber shifted along with Council Member Perry. I wasn't really sure why they were shifting, but it didn't really matter. I listened to the gasps of awe around me at the sight of the silver wolf. I wasn't impressed. She was still just some dumb little b***h as far as I was concerned. I wanted to stick a silver blade in her heart, but knew that it wouldn't kill her. So instead, I would need to be patient and destroy her in other ways, better ways. I smiled, death would be too merciful for her anyway. What I was going to do to her was so much worse. Once the show was over, and they were back inside, I slipped upstairs to have fun. I wrote two more notes and slipped them underneath doors. Now I just had to wait for the fireworks.
Council Member Perry had escorted Chloe back to her room and seen the note that I had left her. I was annoyed that he took it with him. I wanted her to keep rereading it, over and over. I wanted the doubts to take root firmly in her mind. Never mind, hopefully, the seeds were sown, and I would just need to water them. I had heard from the she-wolf who takes care of the rooms that we were expecting a guest. An Alpha from another region. She had been busy cleaning rooms all day after the other Alphas had all left for their own packs. Only those from Lakeside and Winter Falls remained. I couldn't hide my interest in that piece of information. Surely it had to be Alpha Drake. Was Chloe's father coming here? This would be interesting if the stories that I have heard were true. If he was as ruthless and bloodthirsty as rumored, then Chris could be in for a rough time.
