AUTHOR'S POV “Please don't kill me, I didn't mean to kill her, it was a mistake” “Please I am all my son has left,spare me this once I will forever remain in your debt” Jean Austin pleaded with the hunter. But his pleas fell on deaf ears as he injected more wolfsbane into his bloodstream. “Arghh” Jean Austin writhed in pains as the wolfsbane injected directly into his vein made its way to his heart destroying every organ it met along its way. “The wolfsbane in your body is enough to kill 10 of you cursed and dirty creatures, after dying painfully in this lifetime, be born as a dog in your next life” Andrew Brighton spat in disgust after his hate speech. His eyes were cold and bloodshot. “As for your cursed offspring, he's a lucky chap, he would have joined you if I met him” Andrew continued. “Remember the treaty, hunters would stop hunting werewolves and we would both coexist and respect each other's boundaries, why are you doing this? Why do you hate us so much?” Jean Austin asked in pains, struggling to breath. “As for your sister, I was only helping her deliver her baby, I am no professional, I didn't know she would die like that. I apologize” Jean Austin breathed his words as he spoke. “I hate your entire race, I do not understand why you filthy creatures should be allowed to live with humans” Andrew answered him. “You hate us so much yet you married one of our own, you hypocrite” Jean Austin struggled a mocking chuckle as he finally succumbed to the wolfsbane and died. Andrew quickly dug a shallow grave and buried Jean inside, he heard some noise nearby and scurried away so as not to get caught. Leo Austin, Jean's son witnessed the gruesome murder of his father, he vowed to get revenge on Andrew Brighton, no matter how long it would take. Andrew could not sleep that night, he kept thinking about what Jean said before he died. “Is Regina a werewolf?” He thought to himself, “no it can't be, its not possible, she wouldn't be my wife if she was, knowing fully well I hate werewolves and I am also a hunter. I wil have to find out…” “Why are you so lost in thought honey? Such intense thoughts that made wrinkles form on your forehead” Regina his wife teased him as she brought him out of his thoughts. He looked up at her, imagining how this perfect person can be one of those filthy creatures he hates so much. He decided to find out once and for all by feeding her wolfsbane, if she is not a werewolf, it would have no effect on her and he would peacefully forget about the silly comment of a dying man. “ Breakfast is ready, freshen up and come downstairs” Regina said as she kissed him slightly on the forehead and left. Andrew put his plans to action, he took the remaining wolfsbane he bought off the black market and went downstairs. Regina percieved the wolfsbane the moment he entered the dining room, she became suspicious. Since the peace treaty between hunters and werewolves, wolfsbane became a contraband. She pretended to be focused on filling her daughter's plate with food. From the corner of her eyes, she saw Andrew put a few drops of the liquid in her tea, her suspicion grew, she wondered if he found out that she is a werewolf. That was the first day Regina was grateful she didn't have a wolf even though she came from a line of werewolves, she took the cup and downed the tea. Andrew was waiting for a reaction but he got none, was he disappointed? Ofcourse not, he was beyond happy. He loved Regina and their daughter so much, he could not afford to loose them for any reason. His mind was finally at ease and he enjoyed his breakfast. Regina had long decided that the only way to keep her daughter safe when she gets her wolf is to make sure she is in a wolf dominated town, she may not be part of their pack but they will protect her from hunters especially when the hunter is her father. The wolf gene skipped Regina but it most definitely won't skip Ariel her daughter, She lives in constant fear of how Andrew would react when he finds out his only precious daughter is a wolf, a specie he considers disgusting and dirty. His rage might make him try to kill them both. Regina's resolve is stronger now more than ever, she has found the perfect City with a good university, she will get her daughter to apply there and make sure she's safe. Leo Austin is overcome by grief and pain, he has been having nightmares since his dad passed. The nightmares only got worse even after almost a month since the incident, he was all alone in this world. He decided that he must take revenge on the man that rendered him an orphan. He regretted that he is a late bloomer and has not gotten his wolf yet, he would have at least fought for his dad, he just hid there and watched. Leo woke up from one of those terrible nightmares and reached a decision to stalk Andrew Brighton and find a weakness. He only knew where he worked so he went to the company, and laid siege, after waiting in futility for days, he was about to give up when he saw Andrew Brighton coming out of the building at the close of work, he was elated, he jumped on the bike he rented and followed him. Andrew stopped in front of City High school, Leo wondered why then this pretty ginger haired girl walked out of the gate wearing the prettiest smile Leo has ever seen, she looked like she had no worries at all. “Dad you have to stop coming to get me, I am a senior now and this is embarrassing” Leo heard her saying, still wearing that pretty smile as she got into the Passenger side of the car. Leo was smitten by this ginger girl but he had to focus on his primary aim. He followed them at a safe distance and found where they lived. He was happy that he achieved something that day, he found Andrew Brighton and his pretty weakness. A thought came to his mind and he smiled mischievously to himself. The next day, Leo filled out forms at his school for transfer, he told the school that his only sponsor was dead and he could not afford the tuition anymore. He asked to be transferred to City High school, his application was accepted and granted, he was happy his first plan was going well and the moon goddess was on his side. The plan is to be friends with the ginger girl and get close to her father through her, he plans to kill Andrew Brighton or atleast make his life as Miserable as his own life. He thought about the ginger girl and her smile all night, he looked forward to meeting her and being her “very good friend”.
