“OH MY GOD!” Robin exclaimed as Shirley finished telling her that Chatham had said he had feelings for her.
“I know. That is exactly how I felt when he said it. The entire world just stood still and he told me that he was just really afraid of being hurt and of getting too close to someone.”
Shirley felt strange telling Robin about Chatham, but she knew that she had to tell someone or she was going to go insane. And she knew that Robin would be super excited about it as well. She doubted Mark would be, but she was going to let him down easy on this one. His fragile and hopeful heart probably could not take it.
“This is the greatest thing that has ever happened,” Robin said.
“Well, it feels pretty good. I’d say it is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time,” Shirley replie
