John gave her a meaningful glance - was this her chance to speak up?
"Grandpa, please don't misunderstand. It's just been a long time since I last saw John, and I got a bit excited... I'm not usually like this," Diana struggled to explain.
"Oh, I see..." Grandpa Matthews nodded, trying hard to appear convinced. "It seems like you two haven't seen each other for a long time. When was the last time you met?"
"Earlier today, at lunchtime," John said softly.
Diana: ...
Grandpa Matthews: "...Haha, you young people. It's like seeing each other after a long separation."
Diana's face turned red.
Then, Grandpa Matthews smiled and said, "Seeing that you both have a good relationship, I feel relieved. John, since Diana misses you so much, why don't you two go on a date? I'll head back home."
