Scarlett suddenly snapped in anger, startling the young man.
He froze in his tracks, unsure of what to do next.

The boy sniffed the air, realizing that there was an unpleasant smell in the room. He wondered why there was such an odor in the music room.
Oddly, the source of the smell seemed to be coming from Scarlett's direction.
