CHAPTER LX : OUR ABILITIES

            We’ve been training in the fields for quite a long time now, we just stayed in that classroom for just two days, maybe the Ordo king just reminded us about all the basics before we start training ourselves physically. After all, we still have to know why we have to train and how do we train ourselves.

            Training is useless when you don’t understand the reason why. You’ll just look like a fool doing something you don’t know. We’ve been here for days doing the training, but not the whole day though. I mean we stopped going to the classroom but we go here instead.

            By the way, I am Dafrosa Aurelio, I’m 18 years old from the Earth Kingdom. I lived there all my life, I never left it until now that I have to. I wasn’t supposed to be the one sent here, it was supposed to be my brother Damian. But he told me that I fit this role better than he could ever do.

            He’s the first person that believed in my abilities and my capabilities. That’s why I proved to everyone and to our king that I am worthy to be the Earth Hero. I never failed my brother and I will never fail him. I want to make him proud of me and that he never chose the wrong choice.

            I stood no chance to others when it comes to fighting, but fighting without strategies makes you fail. The usual thing happens when we fight is that we tend to rely on our strength and we fight without thinking properly. We just attack and attack and just finds out who wins.

            Whoever is the stronger surely will win, the weaker surely will lose. But not in my case, I used that thing to overcome my weakness. I am not that strong to fight but I am not that dumb not to think of ways how do I win. I mastered the techniques of knowing how to defeat an enemy whatever weakness they may have.

            And by that, I successfully made it to be here, my brother was the happiest to know that news, he got so excited and he told me how proud he is to me, and I want to make him more proud of me.

            We train alongside the armies of the Psychic Nation and we’re being trained by their commander, though we train separate from the armies, we have our own spot. But the time of training, even breaks and the dismissal, the way we start our training, the intensity of the training, and the rules of training are all the same.

            That seemed to be so difficult to the point that everyone thought that I and girls can’t do it. Among all the people training here, including those thousands of men from the Psychic Nation who train here, we are the only female trainees. But they can’t just underestimate us, especially Zati. You’ll be easily impressed just by looking at her fight.

            I mean, she might be a girl, but she’s as strong as ten men. She’s a little girl on the outside but she’s a total beast on the inside. Kurezma too, she trains like she never feels tire. She fights like she never knew defeat. Even the boys are intimidated by them. You really can’t just judge a person the way you see them.

            At first, everyone would look at us weirdly, maybe because they’re thinking that we couldn’t handle this kid of training since we are girls. But we proved them wrong, they can’t underestimate us. In fact, those boys complain so much like a baby compared to us.

            Well me… I’m just an average ahahahaha but I try my best to become like Kurezma and Zati. Though everyone thinks that I’m the softest here, I can’t blame them, I really do. I really don’t believe that Kurezma used to be so weak before she graduated from their school. She used to tell us the story to motivate us.

            I really can’t believe that she can’t even use her powers and can’t even fight just months before their graduation. But as soon as Ashtan confirmed it, we all believed in her. Ashtan and Kuzma trained her, and just after several months, she is what she is now. I wanted to be like her.

            Ashtan and Kuzma were the best students in their school, but it’s not about being trained by the best students to also become the best. It’s not like that, it’s about your passion and dedication to train yourself and become stronger than before. Those trainers were just instruments, it’s still up to you.

            These men really spend their day training both their physical strength and their powers. I admire these men because they all seemed to be handsome. Just kidding ahahahaha, I mean I admire them because they all train well to become strong to be able to defend their own country.

            They don’t mind about dying in wars or whatsoever, all they thing about is how they save their people and their country and what they can do to bring peace to their country. They are the front liners whenever there are problems that their country faces whenever there are conflicts with another country.

            They risk their lives in the battle fields to do their duties that they oath to do. Right now, I am just like them. But not just for my own country, but for the whole world. I also wanted to defend my world from evil doers who do nothing but to threaten the peace that was once established after it died a long time ago.

            I don’t want my world to go that way again, not that I’m alive in this era. I also wanted to bring difference though I look like a helpless little girl that can’t even fight. That’s why I am training so hard to become like Kurezma and Zati whom everyone respects due to their unmeasurable strength and capacity.

            If they can do it, then I can do it too.

            Earlier this day, after warming up, we all gathered under a shade of a tree to discuss something. The Ordo king still supervises us whenever he has tie, but most of the time it’s always the commander or someone as high as the knowledge that he possesses. He still has works to do as the king after all.

I don’t know but everyone in this country seemed to be so smart. Even Hazol. No wonder they’re psychics, the tribe who uses their mind in its high capacity.

            So the Ordo king discussed with us this thing about abilities as a fighter. He taught us some abilities that we can possibly learn as an offense and a defense. But not just in fighting though, he taught us to be smart, to be aware, and to be strategic whenever we face a conflict.

            He’s right though, conflicts don’t always require a strong fighting skills to solve it. As accurate as it is, it’s what I’ve been talking to you the whole time. Well, that’s why I said it, to remind everyone that we have to be smart and well-rounded at the same time tough and fierce.

            Some people would start asking, is being smart an ability? Well, yes, in some cases. Just like me, if I don’t have enough ability to fight, but I have a quite nice ability in being smart. Being smart is the ability to put ideas together, and create solutions to problems.

            Being smart is the ability to focus, concentrate, and communicate. That’s what the Ordo king discussed to us a while ago, but that’s not all, that’s just a summary. But that’s the point of the whole discussion a while ago. It’s an ability to think of ways to overcome a challenge easily so that you don’t have to face it severely.

            Strength isn’t it all, being smart also adds percentage to the probability of winning. Just look at me, I was weak back then but I still managed to be on top, because I used my mind.

            Being smart is an ability that everyone should learn to have a better life, not just in my case where I have to fight. Being smart helps us get through the day without encountering hassle things. Being smart is different from being intelligent.

            Intelligence is something you are born of, so not all people can be intelligent. It’s the capacity of the brain to think intelligently that makes it special and unique unlike other usual brains. But being smart is something we have to put effort. It does not come naturally.

            But it comes when we try our best to become one. It’s the ability to analyze and to criticize things and reconsider it to understand it well. It is synthesizing things to know every single detail that helps or doesn’t help. That’s why becoming smart in life is a thing, it makes you resistant and immune to failure.

            Aside from teaching us to be smart, the Ordo king also taught us to discover more of our abilities with our power. Just like me, I can use the power of the element of Earth. I don’t know but it’s called Earth, it means the soil or the ground. I heard there’s this planet called Earth, but I don’t know where in this universe it revolves ahahahaha.

            My power is called geokinesis, or seismokinesis, or terrakinesis ahahaha either of the three. I can create, shape and manipulate earth and "earthen" elements including most solid objects, specifically all minerals and mineral compositions regardless of their state such as mountain, boulder, sand or dust, dirt, soil, and others.

            But Earth metals are out of our powers, those powers belong to the Teras. All we do is to manipulate the ground, and also the nature all around us those includes the trees, animals, except air and water.

            There were so many I things I learned about using my power. I learned so many abilities and skills that I learned along with my brothers and sisters who trained with me. Since I have learned all of those, all I have to do know is to enhance it and make it even stronger.

            That’s the reason why I have to train here. I wanted to become stronger so that I can defend our world when the time comes.
