CHAPTER LXXV : COMMOTION IN THE CLIFF

-Thresh-

            We looked around to see if someone is here waiting for us, specifically that man who’ll be giving us our task in this place. Well, we found someone over a tree, it’s just that he’s sleeping. Usually these people giving us the quest is alert, and they always come immediately the moment we arrive. But I’m not judging though ahahaha.

            We all looked at each other as if we all had the same thing in mind. We all walked towards him so that we could proceed to our task for today. It’s still morning though, that means we finished the other task early than it should be done. As we approached him, we confirmed that this man really is sleeping.

            I looked at them with a questioning look asking them what should we do. It looks like he’s having a good sleep right now, and we’re not that kind of people who’ll ruin it. We all looked at each other waiting for each other’s next moves, and it really felt so awkward. I wanted to laugh so hard.

            I just can’t, I don’t want to wake him up by laughing so loud. I bit my upper lip preventing myself to laugh. The others somehow also felt just like what I felt too. All of a sudden, we heard a loud bang making us all hop in so much shock, as well as it made the man woke up.

            I looked back and saw Sohel did something. I guess he did the move for us, something that we can’t do ahahaha. But kidding aside, he shouldn’t have done that. He can wake this man in a much politer way, I should have done it before he could do that. I felt guilty for the man.

            “Time is running, we don’t want to waste it” Sohel said as he put down his hand making his power subside and disappear as if nothing had happened

            “I’m so sorry…” the man said having no choice as he bowed down in guilt and ashame

            “Next time, don’t make anyone get delayed just because of some nonsense reasons” Sohel firmly said as he looked at the man directly in his eyes. And gosh… that stare is so intimidating that it’ll scare the heck out of you. It sent shivers down to my spine though Sohel didn’t give that look to me

            “I’m sorry… again” the man said as his feet stepped back a little and his face was a little confused with what he just acted. He was about to say something again yet he hesitated and closed his mouth

            “It’s ok… let’s proceed” Sohel spoke once more as his voice sounded so frightening that you won’t want to hear at all

            “Hey, enough of that…” Ran said as he stepped between that man and Sohel stopping from acting that way “I’m sorry…” he turned to the man and apologized in behalf of Sohel and looked at him again “What are you doing?” he whispered, yet Sohel just looked at him coldly and worst part is he didn’t answer and just looked at the man

            “Let’s just proceed with the task” the man said as he finally composed himself from being intimidated and stood up straight calling each of our attentions. He’s image somehow changed from being that sacred and helpless man into someone who have authority. I just felt like it.

            Ran looked at the man leaving Sohel there. I sensed a space between the two of them. I don’t know what but something’s off. I know I’m not the only one feeling it. It seems like the others noticed it too. I just removed the thought from my mind as the man prepared himself to speak.

            “Well, it’s time for you all to learn how to take risks despite of not knowing the results of taking that” he said initiating. He looked at intently to us emphasizing his point. He just sounded just like those people lecturing us. I can clearly feel his power. I can’t believe he’s someone Sohel just did something like that.

            “And as you take that risk, you also have to learn to how to handle every consequence that you may encounter… you know what I’m talking about” he said as he smirked without cutting off his gazes to us

            “What do you mean by that?” Ran asked in curiosity. Just by saying that we know it makes us not know it more, hayst. Is he making this difficult for us just because of what Sohel did? Is he having a grudge against us? Is this the consequences he’s talking about?

            No, just kidding ahahaha it can’t be. He’s not an immature one to think that way ahahahaha

            “We’re specifically on the other end of the Mazabradas’ cliff, near the country of Toxin Domains. I’ll be meeting you at the other end, specifically in southeastern of State of the Earth Metals… I’ll give you a clue, there is a passage somewhere around here to easily get there” he spoke reminding us

            “No going off the cliff, not going far from the cliff” he continued reminding us. Just as I thought about it, the other end is just straight ahead if we follow this path here, that we don’t have to get near the cliff… but he said no going far from it. I wonder how we’ll get there.

            “Now, off you go” he spoke as he suddenly disappeared probably teleporting himself there

            “What are we going to do now?” I asked as I looked at the others. I also started to think of ways how to get there

            “The wind is to strong, we can’t handle it. Even if Astral would help us withstand it, it would still be so difficult…” Cymone said as he pointed at the harsh winds along the cliff

            “Daf, do you something about this cliff?” Ran asked Dafrosa if she could do something about it. we all looked at her expecting a nice answer but her face doesn’t say so

            “I’m afraid no, Ran. I’ve never been there so I don’t know how to deal with that place” she said shaking her head off denying about it

            “Let’s just go already, we’re wasting time just standing here and do nothing” Sohel said as he started walking towards the cliff as if he had a better plan

            “Hey stop, that’s clearly a suicide” Ashtan stopped him from walking with his thunder yet he didn’t seem to be alarmed and just continued walking as if he was struck by nothing. As he was about to get near the cliff, Ran quickly grabbed with something… I don’t know what but Sohel was suddenly pulled by a force though he’s quite far from Ran.

            “What were you thinking!?” Ran said as he dropped Sohel on the ground “Don’t be so hasty, we have to think first!” he added looking intently at Sohel with his eyes in immense irritation

            “He said we have to take risk, and so I did…” he sarcastically answered. Without anyone noticing we just saw Ran’s fist landing upon Sohel’s face

            “What’s wrong with you!?” Ran yelled at him as he pulled him up leveling him into his eyes

            “What are you talking about!?” Sohel shouted back at him “Let go of me!” he added as he fired something at Ran causing him to be thrown away in a distance “I was just doing what he said without wasting any time… unlike you” he added

            “Hey stop…” Astral interrupted them as Ashtan went to Ran helping him up while Joriz put something on Sohel that made him paralyze unable to move his body

            “W-what did y-y-you do to me?” Sohel asked as he dropped himself kneeling on the ground struggling to speak

            “That’ll just take effect on you for a while… you calm down yourselves first” Joriz said as he stood next to Sohel

            “Why are you guys fighting? You’re literally wasting our time” Astral said stepping between the two of them. The blow that caused Ran to be thrown away made him weak so Ashtan and Cymone has to carry him back

            “Ask that person over there” Ran said also struggling to speak with the pain he feels in his body

            “Whatever… just fix yourselves and we’ll proceed with the task. I can’t imagine we’d end up like this. We made a great teamwork from the past challenges” Dafrosa said “We can’t just go in there Sohel without knowing it and having a good plan to handle it” she added

            “We need to be stable first before we get in there. That place isn’t a joke, now let’s fix the problem between you two first. Our team won’t work if some of the members has some space between them” I said trying to calm everybody down. I stepped forward to face everyone

            “Let’s start talking” I added “Joriz, you help these two first” I said facing to Joriz “And you two behave” I said looking at the two of them. Joriz removed the paralyzation from Sohel, then went to Ran and healed him “Now, let’s all be serious here”

            “What’s the matter with you two?” Astral asked them to clear things up between them

            “I don’t know about him, I was just trying to stop him from doing such a reckless action…” Ran answered defending himself

            “I was just trying to get over this challenge quick while all of you are doing nothing!” Sohel also answered as his voice sounded sharp

            “Doing nothing!? We were thinking of better ways to do it rather than jumping into it just like what you wanted to do, is that what you call doing nothing?” Ran asked him

            “I am not jumping into it, I was just checking to see what else could we do about it!” Sohel answered him back still in his sharp tone

            “Of course you’re not planning to jump into it, but that kind of wind can pull you and drag you into the ocean… that’s what I meant, and I know you know that” Ran explained himself so that he would understand

            “I just did something none of you would wanted to do!” Sohel spoke as if calling all of us coward

            “So are you saying that you’re the only brave here?” Ran asked him with what Sohel said himself, just as I thought. Sohel stayed silent not wanting to answer that question “Than that’s not bravery Sohel, and we’re not cowards, we were just thinking and you were just being reckless… I repeat, reckless” Ran explained

            “I did not call you coward, I just did that to know more about it. I am also thinking. We won’t know what’s in there if we don’t look close to it” Sohel explained his side

            “But you are putting your life in danger… this isn’t a suicidal mission. We aren’t sent here to die, we can’t afford to lose anyone else. So whether you like it or not we have to stick together until we find something else” Dafrosa interrupted the both of them saying her thoughts

            “So the two of you stop fighting, you set aside all of your prides and start working together” I added agreeing with Dafrosa. I just sensed so much pride from the two of them, since they both came from the highest tribe. Ran is just so good at controlling it.

            “Ok… I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have done that” Sohel spoke admitting his mistake and asking for forgiveness. We all looked at him for a while

            “It’s fine, just don’t do that again…” Ran said accepting his apology “And don’t ever wake someone up that way again” he added pertaining to that time when he did that thing to the quest maker.

            “Yea, I’m so sorry about that too” Sohel said as the two of them stood up and shook each other’s hands “I’m so sorry to all of you too” he said looking at each of us

            “It’s fine, at least we fixed this fast… now let’s see what we can do to get through that dangerous cliff” Dafrosa said pointing at the cliff

            “Let me go there first to see what I can find” Astral volunteered herself to do what Sohel wanted to do earlier

            “Ok… tell us what you find ok?” Ran said allowing her to go since she has the power to withstand it
