Elizabeth's POV: I walk out of the building and walk to the cafe to get my car. I drive home, and change into clean clothes. I drive back into town and decide to stay in there until my interview. As I drive around in my car, I see Cody Milore and Brittany Grace walking down the street! Talk about a huge coincidence. Bodyguards surrounding them. I stop my car and get out. I run towards them but one of the bodyguards stops me. Cody and Brittany don't even notice this so I speak up to get their attention. “Excuse me Mr Milore.” I say timidly but loud enough for him to hear me. Both Brittany and Cody turn to face me. Even the bodyguards. When Cody looks at me, I get all nervous and my palms are sweaty. Cody is just breathtaking. His gaze makes me feel so exposed. “Hi.” I say awkwardly. He smiles and walk towards me. So does Brittany. “Hello there.” he says politely. “Oh, it's you.” says Brittany, clearly annoyed by me. Why though? “Yes. I just wanted to thank you. For getting me the second chance interview. I really appreciate it. A lot.” I say looking at my feet. Too shy to face him. “No need to thank me. It's my fault you were late.” he says in he's soothing deep voice. I smile and nod. I walk back to my car and drive around some more. Then I go to a fast-food place and grab a burger. After I'm done eating, it's 1:30pm so I drive to MFB and I get there at 1:55pm because I was driving slowly. I go inside and Kate, the receptionist, is on her computer as usual. I go to her desk. “Kate. I hope you still remember me.” I say smiling. She looks up and smiles when she sees me. “Of course. You're Elisabeth right?. ” “That's me. ” “Ok just a second.” She says picking up her telephone. “Hello. Miss Elisabeth Montague has a meeting with Miss Milore. I wanted to know if she can come in. Ok. Thank you.” She puts the phone down. “Alright.” she says, organising her desk. Penelope will be here to get you in a little bit. You can wait over there.” “Ok, thanks.” As I'm about to sit down, a tall, professional looking woman walks my way. “This way Miss Montague.” she says sternly as she walks by, without even looking at me. I get up, follow her quietly and try to keep up. We go through a door into a quiet empty corridor where there's an elevator at the end. It's isolated, like only a few people use this lift . We get into the elevator and she presses the 20th floor button , which is also the last floor. I guess we're going to Melody Milore's office. “Unless you get the job, this is the first and last time you will ever use this lift. It's Miss Milore's private elevator which is only used by her, her assistant, me and family members. Is that clear?” she says in a serious tone. “Yes ma'am.” I mumble. This is one scary lady. We get out of the lift and enter a very clean room with white walls. There's a pleasant looking lady sitting a desk. Maybe...60 years old? And the desk is really nice. A really nice marble desk. Ok that sounds weird. Penelope stops at the desk and turns to me. “This here is Mrs Green, Miss Milore's assistant. She's retiring after working here for 15 years.” I smile at Mrs Green. “It's a pleasure to meet you ma'am.” She smiles and gets up. “I'll take it from here.” she says to Penelope. Penelope nods and leaves the same way we came. Mrs Green gives me her attention. “Ok Miss Montague. You can go in.” she says pointing to the a huge glass door that I had noticed when we first came in. Though it's glass, it's not transparent. Cool. In italics it says 'Miss Milore'. Oh My God! Miss Milore is right behind that door! Ok, ok, keep it together Beth. I breathe in and out. I slowly walk to the door and it opens automatically. I walk inside, taking deep breaths. At a huge glass desk sits a very, very beautiful lady. Miss Milore. She has ice blue eyes, long silky jet black hair and olive skin. She looks like the female version of Cody. She looks at me. “Miss Montague.” she says smiling. “Miss Milore. It's an honor ma'am.” I say shaking her hand. She gestures for me to sit down and I follow suit. “Can I call you Elisabeth?” She asks me politely. “Yes, of course ma'am.” I say immediately. She smiles while reading through something on her computer. “Elisabeth. I'm really looking forward to working with you. I guess you already-” “So sorry to interrupt ma'am but what do you mean you're looking forward to working with me? This is an interview right?” I'm so confused right now. “Didn't Penelope tell you that you got the job?” she asks, raising a brow. “I got the job?” I ask, baffled but I immediately grin. “I got the job?” “Yes. The decision was finalized three days ago. Penelope was supposed to send an email. I thought Penelope told you. Why do you think you came to my office? I don't interview people. That's Penelope's job.” “So I'm officially your assistant now?” I ask one more time, just to make sure. She smiles, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Yes Elisabeth. Congratulations, I guess.” I beam. This totally means she specifically wanted me for this job! “Miss Montague?” Melody says softly, bringing me back to reality. The reality that I'm Melody Milore's frickin PA! “Yes ma'am?” I blink innocently. She stares at me thoughtfully for a moment then smiles. “You start next week Monday. Is that alright?” Is it! “Yes ma'am. Thank you so much.” “Good.” she says clearing and organizing her desk. We both get up and shake hands. “I look forward to working with you Elisabeth.” she says once again in her soft melodious voice. “Likewise.” As I walk out I stop at the sound of her voice. “Oh and Elisabeth, you should probably see Mrs Green your way out.” I nod and walk out. As soon as the door automatically opens and closes, I slump against it against it and release a sigh of relief. “She's intimidating, isn't she?” I jump at the voice. It's Mrs Green. She had been watching me the whole time. “Yeah.” I smile, walking towards her desk. “Well that's how it is when you meet her for the first time. She's surprisingly nice for a woman of her status. One of the sweetest souls you'll ever meet.” I nod lean against the desk. “So Miss Milore said I should see you before I leave?” “Oh yes.” she says digging through some paperwork. She pulls out a stack of stapled pages and hands it to me. “I made something for you. It's a guide. Miss Milore's likes, dislikes, what she expects of you, and your daily tasks etc.” I smile, grateful. “Thank you so much Mrs Green. How thoughtful of you. I'll read it as soon as I can.” I walk to the elevator and select the first floor. “Ok dear. Enjoy the rest of your day.” she says waving me bye. “You too Mrs Green!” I shout as the elevator doors close.
