3 Making The Rounds Raedrick jerked awake. For a moment, he was unsure where he was. Then his mind absorbed his surroundings: the long room with a plain desk opposite the one he sat behind. The rack of swords behind the other desk and the wood stove in the corner to its right. The cabinet of files next to a door made of steel bars that led further back into the building. His office. Embarrassment flooded through him. He had not realized he fell asleep. It must have been the late night last night, out with Molli and Lani, Molli’s daughter and partner in the running of the Oarlock, and Raedrick’s…he was not sure what to call their relationship. More than friendship certainly. But beyond that… He shook his head. The remaining fatigue from their fun combined with the fire and the memories
