Astrid's Point of View When Roshan left, a sense of relief washed over me. Slowly, I sat up on the bed as pain coursed through my thighs. I looked down between my legs, noticing the marks left from how Zane took me. His fast thrusting and hard hands couldn't withstand his strength. As I attempted to stand up, a soft knock played on the door. "Come in," I answered, thinking it might be one of the triplets—maybe this time it would be Zane himself. But to my disappointment, it was a different face I had never seen before. She didn't seem familiar, but she was wearing the maid's uniform. "My lady," she greeted, standing up with a warm smile pinned on her face. She had never attended to me before; it had always been Sienna, who had been my personal maid since the day I arrived there. "Can I help you?" I asked. She shook her head, signaling no, with the smile still plastered on her face. "I'll be the one receiving your demands today." She said, "Oh, that's nice," I replied, though a sense of unease began to creep over me. I was so accustomed to Sienna's gentle care that the thought of anyone else attending to me felt strange. "My name is Aria," she introduced herself, stepping further into the room. "I've been assigned to you by the masters themselves." I nodded, feeling slightly reassured by her calm demeanor. "Thank you, Aria." "Is there anything you need at the moment, my lady?" she asked, her voice soft and courteous. I considered her question for a moment. "Yes, could you draw me a bath, please? I need to freshen up." "Of course," she responded, quickly moving to prepare the bath. As she worked, I couldn't help but notice her efficiency and grace. Perhaps she wasn't so different from Sienna after all. Once the bath was ready, Aria helped me to the bathroom and carefully assisted me into the warm water. The heat was soothing, easing the aches in my muscles and washing away the remnants of the event before. As I soaked in the tub, my mind wandered back to Roshan and his brothers. There was so much I still didn't understand about them and their world. Why had Zane been so rough? What were their true intentions with me? "Is everything alright, my lady?" Aria's voice broke through my thoughts. "Yes, I'm fine," I replied, forcing a smile. "Thank you for your help, Aria." She nodded and stepped back, giving me some privacy. As I lay back in the tub, I still couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. When I was done, I came out and Aria helped me with a towel. She dried my body and helped me dress. As she was doing my hair in the mirror, she cleared her throat. "My lady, there's something I would like to tell you about." "Oh, what's that?" I asked, curious. She swallowed, seeming nervous. "Well, it's about Sie—" Just then, the door snapped open. When I turned, I saw Sienna looking furious at Aria. The kind of look I had never seen on her face before. "What are you doing here?" she demanded, stepping forward. "I'm...I'm here to take care of the lady," Aria stuttered. I tried to speak but held back my words. I needed to understand what was going on between them. "Was that your duty or mine?" Sienna roared. Immediately, Aria went on her knees. "I'm sorry, Sienna," she pleaded, her head to the ground. “ I didn't mean to take your place” "Leave this instant!" Sienna commanded, and Aria quickly got up and ran out of the room. I turned to her. "Sienna, is everything okay?" "I'm sorry, my lady. There was just a little misunderstanding. The maid forgot her duty. Please, let me continue your hair." She said those smiles she always had on her face returned. I nodded, still feeling a bit confused about the exchange. "Alright, Sienna," I said, trying to push away the lingering unease. As Sienna resumed her work on my hair, I couldn't help but notice the tension in her movements. It was clear that something had upset her greatly. "Sienna," I began cautiously, "what was Aria trying to tell me?" She paused for a moment, her hands stilling in my hair. "Nothing of importance, my lady," she replied, her tone measured. "It's best not to worry about it." "But she seemed quite anxious," I pressed gently, "and you seemed upset with her." Sienna's eyes met mine in the mirror, a hint of worry flashing across her features before she quickly masked it. "It's just a misunderstanding among the staff. You shouldn't be burdened with it." I sighed, knowing I wouldn't get any more information out of her. "If you say so." She continued styling my hair, and I let my thoughts drift back to the triplets. The more time I spent in this place, the more questions I had. And the more I realized how little I knew about my situation. Once Sienna finished, she stepped back, admiring her work. "There you go, my lady. All done." "Thank you, Sienna," I said, standing up and smoothing down my dress. "I appreciate your care." "Of course, my lady," she replied with a respectful nod. "If you need anything else before we go?” I looked around and saw I didn't need anything. “No,” I simply replied. “Are you ready to join the masters for dinner?” she asked, looking at me as if sensing if I might decline because of what they did to me. I felt a lump in my heart and anxiety washing over me; meeting the Alphas was becoming challenging for me. Especially meeting Zane, after what he did. But I had to be strong myself if I wanted to survive this place. Gathering my strength, I nodded. "Yes, I'm ready," I said, hoping my voice sounded more confident than I felt. As we walked towards the dining hall, my mind raced with thoughts of the triplets and their strange behavior. I needed to understand them better, to find a way to navigate this complicated web I found myself in.
