Chapter-2

Emma's POV:

I got up with the heavenly chirping of the birds but that annoyed me a bit as well. I open my eyes to the unfamiliar surroundings. I need to get used to my room, this manor, this town, and my new life.

"yes, I need to get familiar with this town" as this point strike my mind, I ran downstairs to find my dad.

"Uncle Bill, where is dad?" I asked.

"good morning em, He is on the lawn" he replied.

"good morning" I smiled at him and made my way to the lawn.

"Daddy" I squealed.

"seems like somebody woke up in a good mood" he hugs me. I smile wide.

"dad, is this town a big one?" I asked him.

"not a big one but not a small one either, maybe there are like 50-70 houses" he replied.

"oh" I nod at him. "I want to take a trip around the town so that I can get a bit familiar with the roads," I said. He straight up denied it. I gave him my puppy eyes, I know he can never resist my puppy eyes.

"ok, promise me that you will get back in an hour and make sure you remember the route back and call if something..." I cut him off by saying "Dad, I am no more a kid" for which he laughed.

"I keep forgetting that but Emma I care for you so I keep worrying," he said.

"I will be fine" I replied.

"take Bill with you," he said.

"NO, I want to go alone" I yelled as I ran upstairs, I am excited already.

Got freshened up and wore a sweatshirt and denim jeans. I took some money and stepped out. After walking like 10 minutes I reached the center part of the town. I mean that's what I think, there is a supermarket, cafe, restaurant, some stores, a theatre surrounding here and a game court as well.

The climate here feels good, up to my liking, A bit cold, a bit cloudy, and a tad bit sunny. This town looks like one of the places they show in movies, where everyone knows every other. I just hope I don't feel out of place or like an outsider.

I saw a bunch of boys on the other side of the road, it feels like they came from a basketball court they give away that look with basketball shorts and tees.

The sun came from behind the clouds, wow bright day ahead I thought to myself. I stood at the corner of the road and glanced at my surroundings. A boy caught my eye from that group, Brown hair and chocolate brown eyes which are shining in the sun, very bright, that I got mesmerized by the beauty of his eyes for a second. He caught me off-guard while I was looking at him.

out of blue, my stomach started grumbling, yeah awesome timing. The cafe is on the other side of the road exactly where he is standing. When I look ahead of the road I found him staring at me. I suddenly felt something in my lower stomach for a second, like they say butterflies in the stomach? or maybe someone never stared at me like that before.

I always had a low profile in my previous school and never have I ever been familiar with the attention.NO boy never looked at me, that doesn't mean I will give in when someone flirts with me. Em, guards up I thought.

he is making his way towards me. He looks tall, a little bit muscular, and with a wide smile. More like flirtatious.

"hey, well here I am, what are your other two wishes?" he said. I look at him with shock not knowing what to answer and I am already trying my best not to laugh. I ignored him obviously what else I can do?

"I must be a snowflake because I have fallen for you" he gave a pick-up line again. I look at him and pointed towards the sun with a smirk.

"Did your license get suspended for driving all these guys crazy?" he asked. Gosh! can he end this already? I thought.

"I don't know how to drive"I shrug.

''you are good with words" he said."Just like the way you are good with the pickup lines?" I asked and laughed again.

"girl, you are pretty dope, I have never seen you here before, what's your name?" he asked.

"do people in your town praise, other people, to know their name?" I asked.

"no, you got me wrong" he scratched behind his neck.

"Had your breakfast?" I asked. He seems taken aback by my question." That's out of the blue, but nope" he replied.

"bother to join me?" I asked.

"ah...huh?" he smirks at me.

"only if you give me your details," he said." only if you are smart enough with your words, you can get the answer from me" I replied." and don't get me wrong, I don't have a habit of eating alone, so I am taking you with me and I will pay the bill," I said.

"oh! wow is this how it feels like when a girl pays your bill, fine with me," he said and we both walked to the cafe. While we were going inside, I heard low whistles and howls from the other boys. I shake my head. Boys I say.

"don't mind them," he said."never in my life" I replied.

we found a table and sat there." what do you want to eat?"I asked.

"white sauce pasta tastes good and cold coffee" he ordered.

"get the same for me, "I said. Trust me I suck at ordering food but I am a foodie, I eat every damn thing which tastes edible.

"So why are you here, a vacation?trip?" he asked.

"try another way to get details from me" I replied.

"ah..huh?get ready then" he smirked. I am excited to know how he will get my details but still, I made a straight face. Our order has arrived and I started sipping on my coffee while he is looking at me. Maybe thinking hard.

"I was blinded by your beauty, I am going to need your name and phone number for insurance purposes," he said. I choke on my coffee, gosh! I grabbed a few tissues and wiped my mouth and looked at him, who is laughing at me, which made me smile and embarrassed. as well.

"smart," I said."name is Emma Ross, phone number? I am getting a new one" I replied. Obviously, I ain't giving my number to some stranger dude.

"Are you a time traveler? cause I see you in my future" he said.

I can't with this guy, he is such a flirt I wonder how he is doing this efficiently. It would be a lie if I say I am not enjoying this.

"time traveler or not but you will see me in the future"I replied.

"something is wrong with my eyes because I can't take them off of you" he spoke again.

"It is better to visit a doctor" I replied for which he broke into laughter.

"It is surprising how my words aren't affecting you," he said. Only if you know I thought to myself.

"you are so beautiful that you made me forget my pickup line," he said.

"isn't this already a pickup line?"I asked.

"ok, I concluded that none of my words don't affect you so either you don't fall for such things or else you are a psychopath," he said. That made me chuckle.

"did the sun come out or did you just smile?" he asked.

"common" I replied.

I got a call, it's from Uncle Bill "Em, come fast it's been more than an hour already" he said and hung up the call even before I replied.

now what? did he take Olivia's Place? I rolled my eyes, I completely forgot about this guy in front of me.

"Thanks for the company, I hope we never cross paths again," I said.

"Thanks for the brunch miss. Emma, you still have one last wish to ask" he said.

"ah..huh?will see in the future" I said and stepped out of the cafe, made my way to the manor.

as far as I discovered this place, it's quite good, warm, and cozy as well. I am sure I will have a good time here, the people are funny as well.
