Previously… “Nigel never locks his door. Who’s inside? Open the door!” “Please don’t go outside right now. I’ll take care of the situation.”               “Who is that?”              “It’s…”  _____ “What do you think you're doing?” Nigel’s deep, hoarse voice rang up out of nowhere, it made Lisa jump in surprise. Nala, who was in the connected room, had butterflies in her stomach just from hearing the man’s voice. She also recognized the lady's voice. It was his fiancée who came knocking on the door. She looked at Kelvin helplessly as he gestured at her to be silent. "I came to look for you, Nigel. You didn't show up at the family dinner. Don't tell me you forgot?" Lisa furrowed her brows at Nigel. She wasn't aware that there were 2 other people in the room. "I was busy." He responded emotionlessly, "Next time don’t barge into my room without my permission." He warned. "What do you have in there that I can't go in? Are you keeping someone inside?" Lisa kept on questioning him, which annoyed him even more. The Nigel that she knew hated women. She was aware of that, but his strange reaction was doubting her. Nigel knew that Lisa was going to come to his house unannounced someday. But he did not expect it to be as soon as Nala arrived. Good thing she hasn't found out yet, or else, his plan will be destroyed before it even starts. "Ever heard of privacy?" He grabbed her shoulders gently but firmly, "Let's talk downstairs." Growing up with Lisa, Nigel learned that she was not the type of person that could be dealt with anger. She preferred sweet talk and coaxes to calm down. "When will you stop being so secretive? We're going to be a family soon!" Lisa whined unhappily. Even though they grew up together, she could never read what was on his mind. Sometimes he was charming, but some other times he was so cold, so heartless, that it sent shivers down her spine. No matter how spoiled she is, she could never go too far with him. "Diner is downstairs." He spoke coldly. That scary man also hates repeating his words!                     Although Lisa works in the entertainment industry filled with good-looking people, still none of them can ever be compared to Nigel. He has an extraordinary figure and charm that no woman can resist. “You could’ve invited me to a fancy dinner. But that’ll do.” Lisa pouted her plumed lips adorably. It made Nigel nauseous. He had always thought of her as a younger sister and nothing more. But Lisa wasn’t having the same thought. The fading footsteps made Nala sigh in relief. Had she been caught, she couldn’t imagine that situation. “I will have the maids deliver food here for Ms. Auria. So, don’t come out for now. President will come once Ms. Huang leaves.” Kelvin reassured Nala as he walked out of the connected room to the main bedroom. “Th-thank you Mr. Sharr.” Nala responded quietly. She felt a strange anxiety rushing throughout her body just hearing that Nigel would come for her once it is safe out there. “Please just call me Kelvin.” He smiled politely then left the room. The maids brought food into the room silently, then softly knocked on the door as a sign to call Nala out to eat. She smiled shyly back but didn’t say a word to them, then proceed to dig in whatever they brought. No matter how stressed you are, you have to eat first, right? It felt strange, once again. Though Nala’s parents used to be well-off, she was never treated this way. She was taught to do everything by herself and to always be polite to the helpers in her house. Nigel had instructed her not to say anything to the maids, so she felt somehow ashamed for not being able to thank them verbally. It seemed the maids had a different perception of Nala. She looks way too “plain and simple” for their young master. It didn’t make sense that he could have any relationship with these types of women. Women who threw themselves onto their young master were usually pretty, wealthy, and feisty types with high social statuses. But this young lady? She was nothing like that. They started to feel like they shouldn’t be any nicer to her because she was nothing better than them. In the dining room… “Nigel, have you heard? The designer who we met the other day suddenly resigned from her company. What about our attire? It was so pretty… but I think we will have to find another designer.” Lisa spoke with a pouty lip. She was sad because it took her so long to find a pretty set for both of them, but then the designer couldn’t make it for her. “She will do it for us.” Nigel replied coyly, he had a little smirk on his face thinking of the little feisty lady who was hiding inside his bedroom. She must have been furious right now. Her pinkish face popped up in his head as he was thinking of her, so he chuckled a bit. “Really? Did you make sure she would make it for us by the discussed date?” Lisa was glowing in happiness again. “But what’s funny about it? Why are you smiling like that?” “Nothing. It will be ready in time, don’t worry.” The man turned serious again. So unpredictable! The two had a pretty quick dinner. Nigel hurriedly chases Lisa back home. He couldn’t wait to see the grumpy little face of his prey for the moment. ‘I’m going to get an earful from her.’ He thought and smirked. He couldn’t help it. It felt good to tease Nala. The bedroom door cracked open as the broad figure of Nigel walked in. A strong room fragrance hit his nose, he immediately felt relaxed. Meanwhile, Nala jumped up from her desk in horror as she heard heavy footsteps walking toward her workshop. “What’s the matter?” Nigel asked when she saw her jumping in surprise. “Please knock on the door so I can be prepared!” Nala glared at him. Just like he had imagined, she was mad. “It's my house.” He replied emotionlessly, squinting his eyes. “Ever heard of privacy?” She repeated his phrase which he said to Lisa earlier. Nigel rolled his eyes annoyingly. “Alright, no need to be spicy. Did you eat?” “Yes.” Nala replied, but then she anxiously looked down and fidgeted with her fingers. “Do you have something to tell me?” Nigel raised his eyebrows curiously at her. “Actually… there are two things that I need for now.” She replied hesitantly, not sure if he would listen or not. “Go on.” ‘Put some emotion in your speech, will you!’ She thought. “I need a helper with these attires. I’m a designer but my craft making skills are limited and it will take too long.” She bit her lower lips and spoke embarrassingly. “I’ll have Kelvin look for one tomorrow. What’s the other?” he crossed his arms, waiting for her to finish. “I need…that.” She glared at him again and pointed her finger towards his chest. She meant to point at his shoulder but he was too tall, so she accidentally pointed at his chest instead. Her cheeks turned pink in embarrassment again. Why did she have to do it of all the people? And most importantly, why does it have to be this handsome jerk! “You sure have read the contract well,” he mocked. “Can you stand still and close your eyes for a moment? It will only take a minute.” She mumbled aggressively. “Is it necessary to close my eyes?” His perfectly curved brows raised up in suspicion. “Yes. I can’t focus if you look at me.” “It’ll be better if I get to see it.” He mocked again before coming closer to her and pretentiously closing his eyes. He could still see her movements after all. “Close your eyes tightly sir. I can still see your pupils.” Kelvin, that guy sure had given her a hard time. He could have just told her what his boss’ body measurements are, but here they are. Nala grabbed her meter and began to measure Nigel’s shoulder first. He was a bit surprised when her slender fingers touched his shoulders from behind, but he stood still to see what she was going to do. Her hands then moved along softly from his shoulder to his back, then his collar bone to his waist. Nala unintentionally touched his chest and abs. It was barely a touch, but Nigel had an instant flame burst inside his body.  What is this woman trying to do?! He flinched at grab her small warm hands, instantly making Nala jump in shock. He thought she was being playful but it looked like she was really seducing him right now. “Is that what you wanted to do? You could’ve just asked me.” His eyes turned dark. This woman is no ordinary woman to have teased him like that. “I-I was just taking your body measurement.” She startled and struggled to pull her hand back from his firm, strong grip. “I’m sorry if I’ve offended you >.Knock, Knock— “Mr. Anderson, are you okay in there?” The running water stopped. A moment later, the bathroom door creaked open with the broad body in his night gown standing firmly in front of Nala. His hair was wet and messy, he looked so sexy it almost made her nose bleed. “What do you want?” He asked and coldly looked at her small figure shaking in front of him. “I want to apologize, please don’t sue me for another 10 million or send me to jail. Please let me treat your wound first.” Nala blurted out a long speech begging for forgiveness. Nigel furrowed his brows in disbelief. Had she thought of him that bad and scary? Was he being too harsh on her? And now he’s the one who felt guilty? “What are you saying?” He crossed his arms, “Do you think I crave money that much?” This woman is unbelievable, he thought. “You don’t?” Nala looked up into his annoyed eyes. Her eyes were watery as she was so anxious, she was going to cry. “Did you forget who I am? I am…” “I know who you are, you’re Mr. Anderson, the CEO of Anderson's group.” She cut his sentence abruptly, “That’s why I’m asking you not to send me to jail. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you like that, I just…” she was really going to cry! “Hey, don’t cry. I didn’t do anything.” Nigel was confused and startled to see her teary eyes. She looked pathetic. “I’m sorry, my sister needs me. I can’t go to jail…” and she really cried. Normally she would not cry over something so unreasonable as this, but the progesterone in her made her emotional all of a sudden. It’s a moody swing from PMS. “I’m not sending you to jail, Darling. Why would I do that?” Nigel went soft on her, after seeing those tears. He pulled her into his arms again. Nala just couldn’t hold her tears anymore. Since the day she met him again, she had been so stressed. About him, about her sick sister, about financial things. She had been acting strong for the longest time. Now that she has had a breakdown, she might as well let it all out so that tomorrow could be a better day for her. She cried silently in his arms for a long time. Nigel didn’t say a word. He just hugged her tight as she hugged him back, comforting her in silence. ‘Was tricking her into his trap a mistake? She should be treated way better than this…’ Nigel was doubting his plan now. He felt bad for using this pathetic girl who was trying so hard for her life. To be continued...
